I just a visit from a few reps, and the new irons and woods are looking good. Lets talk about the stuff I saw.

Hey, hey, hey. I got to see some new golf clubs. I got to see some new golf clubs. Hey, let’s talk about some golf clubs next on what’s in my drawers golf talk. Welcome back to What’s in my drawers golf talk. Jimmy here. Why is it What’s in my drawers? Because old club makers and club fitters are tremendous packrats and I am no different. It’s about what’s in my shop and what’s in those drawers. And here’s we’re going to talk about golf club repairs, golf club fittings, golf club reviews. All your scores can go low. So, see what that thing is doing right there. Thanks for watching. Let others know about this content. Invite them to join us. Remember to like and subscribe. If you would do that, please hit that bell and that way more of this information gets out to you guys when I do it. Now, I did not put out a video last week only because of no other reason than I didn’t uh I really didn’t have any content until uh this weekend. And this weekend got uh busy with fittings and I actually got to do actual real home stuff which was quite enjoyable I have to say. So, what the what are we doing for the video? I have it in the can and it’ll be ready to go talking about those guys. My swing actually came back. It was very nice to be able to hit a golf ball again. Then we’re talking about the Apex 150s, how they’re made, who they’re for, that kind of stuff. Actually, it’s quite short. Um, I could have went on for days about it. Just to say this, that if you guys are have a pretty decent swing speed, pretty decent hitter, these guys are the way to go. It’s probably one of the most solid golf clubs I’ve come across in quite some time. And uh they are not very they’re not super strong like an a a regular apex. They’re are two some two between two and three degrees weaker meaning that about you know is let’s say for me I hit it my a my regular apex goes into the 170s for a seven iron. So we’ll say 175 and these guys were one yeah 175. These guys were just another club short. So, if you’re not really too worried about distance and you can still move the ball, this is certainly one to go try. I have another one here, which is the I now have the the lefty version. And the ritz important about this I this 150 is that it’s not on the fitting cart for me. They had to send me some so I could test it. This guy is on the fitting cart. And this is the new SP uh Opus SP for spin pocket. Uh they have gone back to the the S200 dynamic gold. Not my favorite shaft at all. Uh but we’re going to see how that one works in the next one. All righty. So, we got all that. Also, if you guys remember uh and if you guys would care, uh we have the other golf or golf YouTube channel which is called Pars and Pores. It’s golf centric whiskey. And we are doing the RDER Cup. And the RDER Cup is about rise obviously. And the the one I just put out today is in the semifinals. It was the the one going to hole 18. And it’s going to be the winners are Old Forester Single Barrel and uh Hard Truth Caramel Malted Rise. So, it’s going to be a good contest. Okay. And and just so that we get it started here, uh Charlie Yellowstone 101. And it is a actually it’s a limited edition from 2024. Good stuff those guys. Okay, so the before we get started on that uh as far as club builds go. So we did some club fitting. Okay, let’s talk about that one. Did some club fitting and um had a guy brought in some MP60s and got say he was got down to a four but family gets in the way and now he’s climbed up to a nine. still single digits and wants to hit it better. And uh and and I gave him some clubs and we kept him in the Mazunos and I literally gained him 20 yards. Now, what did we do? We went either into the uh Hot Metal Pro for Mizuno or we went into the 245 depending on what they like the best. But really, really made an improvement. Now to say that um uh to say that and he had the MP60s were they had project X shafts in them and the Project X shafts uh were from that era as True Temper had just taken over Rifle and the the shafts suck. All right. They were That was just the easiest thing to say about them. And well, we and we measure a lot of clubs prior to the fitting just to make sure it’s not the equipment. Well, a lot of cases was the equipment. Uh the 6iron was as or the seven iron as long as the sixiron. The the most stiff shaft in there, stiff club in there was the five iron or the four iron. No, five iron. And it got it just kept getting softer like somebody had no idea what they were doing when they were putting these things together. So once we started balancing him out and getting him where he needed to go, the control got in there and he started hitting it much much much better and uh started getting out there. Now it was a competition between that and the uh the actually the 150 this guy right here uh he cuz he could still move the ball. That guy was that guy was in hyper contest with it as well. So the gentleman’s got a choice. The second one which was unique uh was this weekend. It was a last minute. It was a last minute I had some time open and he was a golfer on a budget and he was playing with the golf in a box set and uh had gotten bit by the golf bug pretty hard. And so we decided to see what we could do to help him out. And as far as and I I hate to relate this to a budget but uh Max and we tested it against it was kind of funny. This guy, the Dino Forge Club, this thing outperformed them all. You know, I didn’t go into the super, he did not, he didn’t need the super game improvement one. These are these are not for that. They are for the uh guy that can still hit the ball pretty decent. And the guy only started 6 months ago, but he hits like a couple hundred balls a day. So, you can imagine he’s grooving his swing. After I helped him out a little bit, uh, he started hitting it even a little bit better and he hit these things and just gobbled these things right up. So, didn’t have to go very far. And we went through the gambit of them, you know, the Shrexons and all that stuff. He still hit them better. There was one that came closer, but it was uh, from a dollar figure, it was way more. So, we landed on those. and he landed on. And the funny part was is he I would give him clubs and he kept going back to Wilson and just hit it better. So, not only did it fit the fitting, but it fit his pocketbook. So, good on him, right? And we were able to get rid of I get rid of we were able to fit him into the next or our last Mazuno putter. So, that worked out very very well. So, uh, which leads us into, uh, all the current Mazuno drivers are now officially getting rid or they’re getting they’re getting phased out. So, uh, we have a handful, not about four or five left over, just the heads. And they’re, you know, could be the Max or the Z or the X. and they’re all quality heads and they’re this year. They’re the current model, but now that they’re phasing them out, we can sell them. So, if you’re interested, you can send Mrs. McDolf a note and she will tell you what we have and and what it costs initially. Right now, since we’re there, you pay what I pay, right? The only thing I want to do is I want to sell them. I don’t want to lose any money. So, you pay what I pay and we’ll go from there. And if you want to sha if you want a shaft in it or something like that and you want me to do it, that’s fine, too. We can build that together. So, keep that in mind. All right. So, Mizuno and Shrixon visited me uh this weekend and and showed me what’s coming down the pike. So, there’s some pretty decent changes since we’re in Mazuno. Number one, they changed their driver. There’s not three models anymore. There are two. There’s a Select and a Select Plus. The Select Plus is exactly what you would think it is. It’s for the better ball striker. It’s slightly open. It has a slightly smaller uh profile at a dress. It It’s a much cleaner uh a much cleaner look. It reminds me of a Titus club. It has that kind of diamond shaped thingy on the bottom. And the uh that that weight that you saw that everybody was that was the spin killer for that particular club uh is gone now. And it’s an all black club. It looks very very sweet. I will say that. Uh very very sweet. And it’s followed up by a driver and a fairway wood. Now there is how did he say it? Uh they’ve done something to increase ball speed. And of course, the rep says he he gained about 3 or 4 m an hour. Now, that’s pretty substantial. And this guy is no joke when it comes to swinging. So, I’m assuming and and the technology, we’ll we’ll get more into it when they actually start to show up. Uh but the technology in it is multiple metals. Um getting a little bit more uh co off of the club and and and getting that. Now, the the fairywoods and the hybrids are will be one model, but they will both be adjustable. So, you can go flat, you can go uh upright, and which makes it very uh utilitarian, very easy to manipulate if you needed something special. And I believe, if there’s the one that told me that, they’re all going all the way down into the 9wood. They’re going into the 9inewood for this. So, uh, you know, the lower the the higher number, the seven, the five, seven, and nines are starting to become more popular again. And I think that’s because the the line angles are starting to come up, and they’re a little bit shorter, and they’re giving uh hybrids all they can stand as far as uh as far as performance goes. Okay. Uh the other part is is that the and they have the same look. They’re very, very clean. Uh I will give them that. They’re um but again they they when I first saw them they reminded me of a Titus club. You guys will be the judge. You can write it down. Remember where you heard it. That kind of thing. Now for the irons. The irons. This is going to be interesting. Uh you know that they have an S3 iron out now, right? An S3. And what it was to be is kind of the replacement of the the Tour the the Forge Tour model. And it’s done that in spades. It’s a much better club to be sure. Very clean. Small pocket or small cavity. A little bit like has an appearance of a longer uh blade length, but I don’t necessarily if you mar, you know, if you put it up against this thing, it’s probably the same length, but it h it’s a smaller profile this way, and it gives it that longer blade length appearance. Well, come right in front of it is an S1. S1 is the blade. All right. and and the blade uh is it it’s nice. Most blades look nice, right? That’s just what they are. This one looks a little bit more mechanical. I think the vibe that they were going off of this year is to give it what I would call an industrial look. Uh nothing free flowing. Everything has a purpose. There’s angles, right? And but the the the soles are still curved, which I really like the radius on the curves, but everything else is just it has this it’s not super shiny. It’s got that more uh like I said, duller industrial finish on it. Uh it’s good-look club. It’s just, you know, it’s it’s good. It’s made for the the the 1 to 10enters. So really, it is. Now the other ones that are coming out which are stupid incredibly interesting are called M series now. So the 243 the 245 are going to be replaced by an M13 and an M15. And those things are pretty stout looking. All right. And and they are exactly what they their predecessors were. The 13 is a is another cavity back, slightly bigger cavity back. Still for the player, a little stronger, so you don’t have to be that precise ball striker, but you can but you still got swing speed and uh and you can get it out there, right? Where the M15 is more like the 245 and it is a hollow body club, but boy oh boy, if I was to show it to you, you wouldn’t know it. It looks like a blade and every bit of it, it just looks bigger and it is nice looking. Again, it still has the industrial look about it. It’s not shiny on the back. It’s kind of a a satiny almost brushed metal kind of look to it. I like it. I do. I like it a lot. I think it’s very very cool. And uh I think that those two are probably going to be pretty decent uh in that in that lineup. So right now currently the number one sellers in their lineup are their hot metals because they’re more forgiving. They blast the ball out a mile. And when you get from the pro, they got the pro and they got the forge for the better players. Uh but if you’re into the ball striking part of it, I can tell you that the 245, i.e. the M15, actually can compete with a lot of those. and you get that really cool look at me in the bag blade look. So, that’s where that’s going. So, that one was pretty cool. Uh, from a Shrixon point of view, this is actually way bigger news than Mazuno had. Uh, next year there will not be a Cleveland iron. At least that’s what I’m being told. And what it is, they will become Shrixon irons. they will become uh you know you have the ZX-7, the ZX-5 and the ZX-4. Now, there will be two more and they’re called ZX eyes and I should have wrote it down. And basically, they’re a more forgiving, bigger cavity, not a So, the four here is kind of a hollow body. This is more of a cavity back, right? It imagine a ZX-4 with a cavity back look on the back. There’s one with a truckload of offset on it, and I mean a lot, and some that doesn’t. And they both have the same loft. So, I if you thought the ZX-4 was super forgiving, these make that thing look ridiculous. So, those are the big ones. Now, uh the the wedges still going to have Cleveland wedges. And, uh Mr. Cleveland is working with Cleveland wedges again, and they’ve introduced a new it’s called a alloy 10. I believe it’s all twin. It’s an alloy that is specific to uh Shrixon. And it is a little uh little, how do they say it? A little less dense, a little bit more uh a little bit more firm, more dense, but uh lighter, and it gets the ball out there pretty good with the grab. And it’s a it’s an alloy that is proprietary to Stricks. and they said uh kind of an idea where their pro golfer was wearing out clubs about every uh wedges about every 3 to six rounds is now upwards of 10 to 12 rounds. So, it’s it got it has a better wear capacity. It grabs the ball. It’s got a couple of new I believe it’s a couple new grinds. So, we should be good to go with that. Oh, and the uh back to Mazuno, you know, their wedges and their their T-series are going to be right there with them again. And you’re going to see a denim, if you like that denim copper from before, they’re going to come out with another one of those. Back to Cleveland. So, the Cleveland is going to have uh you still see the RTZ, the Tour Rack. Those are uh Hold on, I get you one. Hold on. always convenient to have the store right next to us. So, this is one the the RTZ. Uh this has got that new alloy in it. Now, of course, this one is the full face. Can tell people have been hit it. This one I like. Uh it has the this one has that’s perfect example of how this thing is ground down. The leading edge is scalloped away or killed and then you have a bit of a a heel and toe removal. So it opens up and can be used. They’re using the dynamic gold spinner wedge shaft. So we all know what that is. Uh I think it’s got a great look at a dress. They also have a CBX, which is the big cavity back, big forgiving uh wedge shaft um or wedge. It’s a little heavier than I like, but it’s a pretty decent wedge. And then there’s another there’s another uh RTZ or RTX. Yeah, another RTX model that doesn’t have the full face. And uh they’re just they’re just super clean. And there’ll also be some putters as well. Okay. So, that’s where we’re at with that one. The uh uh let’s see. Do they have anything else? No, because they the Shrixon released their the Shrix online, the wedge or the irons and the woods as of last year. So, they got one more year in rotation. I will say that uh I didn’t give much stock into the Shrixon woods and that is a mistake on my part. Um, I’ve put these I I started incorporating more into my fittings of stuff to try and mostly because of my familiarity, but I will say the adjustability on this thing to make it go flat or go upright is pretty amazing and the club really works. So, uh, if you guys are out there and are looking to go bang some balls at the local golf store or something like that and they’ve got tricks on, uh, give them a shot, right? just give them a shout and I would I would go with that. All righty. So, that takes me up to my very last thing here. And the only thing I can show you that I did this weekend cuz build a putter, build a driver, fixed a set. The the set that went to PA or is going to Pakistan. Uh I had to do loft and lie adjustments on it. So, I’m glad that we didn’t send them out. Um the the foreiron was massively flat and we just made them about a degree to a degree and a half strong. So, not too bad. However, I told you I got to do some stuff at the house and that was part of it. So, we did some ribs and we did some chicken and that’s uh what you’re looking at is my lunch through the week. So, there we go. Oh, all righty. Wh Let’s get back to that. So, back to the top and let’s do some comments. It’s Matt. He has a soccer game to watch, but wanted to stop by and say hi. Questions as we get into the fall time for golf. What does everybody do with the falling leaves and finding the golf ball? Cheers. Oo, that’s a good one. Uh hopefully you’re playing on a course really not too bad. the uh for those guys that like playing that orange or colored golf balls, I feel sorry for you because uh here in Ohio uh the the le the amount of colors that come off of the trees in the hills of Ohio here is it just the gambit the gambit of from bright oranges to dark purples and it’s just it’s really kind of cool and however it tends to blend in with the golf ball. our our best bet here is to actually play a just a bright white one and get it. And that’s what we do. There’s Mr. Jesse. How you doing, sir? Oh, by the way, everybody, the uh the temperature has turned back. It is into the mid 90s again today. Uh it started out nice and cool. We’ll see what the rest of the week brings. And it has been dry. I mean, you in the beginning of us talking about this about a month ago, it was like you needed swim fins and a snorkel. Now it’s uh so dry. I’m waiting on the next uh do not burn uh status for the state because it has been that dry. There’s John. What do you say, sir? Greetings everybody. Robin Jim, fellow golfers from Myrtle Beach, for a shaft to be considered senior flex, what are the characteristics of the shaft? Well, so, so John, as you know, there is no standard in shafts. So, let’s go with that number one. But typically typically what you’re going to see is a senior flex shaft is uh is the second most flexible shaft out there. Okay? Meaning if you had a ladies flex, senior shaft, amter flex, regular flex, stiff flex, extra stiff and so on, that that would be the flex. Now the other part of it is now some senior shafts they have different profiles and the profile is we go butt mid tip and in a lot of cases the the tip or the butt section might be firm where the mid and the tip section will be uh will be more flexible or they’ll be less firm, right? They might be soft. We’ll call it that firmer firm mid or soft. So you have a firm tip se or firm butt section, kind of a we’ll call it a mid, and then a soft. It’s it’s gradually getting softer as you go down. Now, that’s based on a senior golfer that is that is smooth, that is slow, that is syrupy, right? You know, wa wa wa wa like that. Now, I know I’m talking out here and so like if you seen Peter who’s on here, he’s in I believe he’s in his 70s now and he still throws the ball out there pretty good. Uh and his swing is very fluid, but it is not soft. Okay. And and so he is playing something in what I would call a firm regular shaft in that Newton shaft. It’s a firm regular shaft. And the idea of the Newton shaft is that that the energy is displaced along the entire length of the golf club. Well, yeah, they all are, right? But they’ve thrown in some magic uh fairy dust to make all that happen. And and it’s and it’s it’s resonating with the senior golfers right now. So, if you have more, we’ll call it an athletic swing. If you have more of an athletic swing, you could still have something in that 50 g, uh, you know, mid to upper 50 g and have a, uh, oh, that that light regular flex type thing. Uh, say something, you know, easy enough is maybe uh, Aventus of that variety. Okay. Pardon me. um you if you could get it into that into that mindset or the uh that AD from Golf uh graphite design would would be another one. The uh the GX line, one of the GX lines if you want to get up the GX blue, if you just had a normal, they had to take the lightweight and go with the green and and do that. Uh but that’s that one. Then you have the last guy, and it’s the guy that just believes that every bit of aggression has to come out on every swing. And that guy, his senior shaft, uh, might be very, very light, but it might very close to an X flex because he’s just so aggressive taking it back and he’s so aggressive taking it down and he still can’t generate more than 70 mph. But the force that he’s putting on that thing is just so incredible that you need to beef up the you need to beef up the shaft just to stay with the golfer. So again, it just depends. But hopefully that that uh helps you out. Hey Matt, nice to see you, says Charlie. What do you say, buddy? No rounds this weekend. Two tournaments uh close the course. Oh, look at you. So here you go, Charlie. This is a this is a recommendation from me to you. If you see this out on the shelf right there, that yellow stone that looks like that. Uh that is a get it. Okay. That is a get it. All right. That that is a don’t mess with it. Just get it cuz it’s that good. All righty. What goodies do you have to share with us today, Jim? I think I already said all that stuff. We got the of course we got the Mazuno heads if you guys are interested. Uh, but a lot of stuff coming down the pike. Uh, we got notified today, Robin is beside herself that our our Wilson rep who is we’ve known him for good no good lord when he was with Shrix on initially for ages and he is retiring at the end of the month. So, uh, if if I’ve never said his name on here, but it’s David Bender. I I would consider him a friend and I he’s just a really good guy in the golf industry and the folks are going to miss one when he leaves. Matt and Sally, what do you say? He’s out there talking and hi Jesse. Hi Jesse. There’s Matt back. Hello everyone. He’s in the busy time. We’re getting into that. This is that uh you know it starts getting just a tad cooler. We’re in that like premier soccer time, aren’t we? I know soccer you can do every time, but uh but this is kind of that time frame for soccer, right? There’s Charlie. Oh, here’s Peter. Peter had a uh a record round last week. Matt, if you’re listening, uh shot got into the 60. He’s got to Matt space, but the these are some really good shots, too, bud. And we did get to see his home course. His home course is pretty dogone nice. Uh those legend golf courses. If you guys get opportunities uh to get down to Myrtle Beach and you can get on the Legends, uh I would recommend it highly. It very nice layout. Super nice layout. As a matter of fact, Travis, what do you say, bud? Hey Jim, what’s the secret to drilling out a fereral and make it fit a I keep trying. They come out too small. Uh 3/8 inch drill bit. That’s what I use. So what I I have a speed clamp and the speed clamp is for the grips. And basically it’s a it’s a piece that’s this sits into the clamp into my vice and then the clamp sits here and it and it’s closes like that. Okay. And they’re $99.99. And you go to Golf Works, they’ve got them. Uh, and then what I ended up doing is is I put that fereral in that speed clamp and then I take the drill a 3/8 inch drill and just and straight through because that is uh 1/100th away from being a 3/8. So 3/8 actually ends up being 380. And and so as it’s going to be going up the shaft, you want it a little bit bigger. So this needs to be 380. So 3/8 3/8 Oh my goodness. 3/8 inch uh drill bit. That’s what I use. In fact, I got a special one. It’s not special. The only reason why it’s special is uh I was drilling out drill or fererals one day and one of them broke because they’re they’re glued together in rings, right? And there were all these different colors and uh one went sliding straight up the drill bit towards my drill and uh it stayed on there and it’s still on there forever and that’s what I use to identify that as the one I use on my fererals. Phil K, happy Monday from Austin. Hi Robin Jim. Been enjoying that Mazuno driver. Finally got used to it. Well, I’m glad you like it partner. It’s perfect. That’s what we want to see. Uh good for you. All righty. Peter has very nice rounds. He’s been he’s been hammering it, man. He I tell you what, that was the uh as I was telling you guys before we were down in Myrtle Beach. Bob was uh Bob would go, Jim, don’t think, just do. Just hit it. Don’t think about it. And I would say and finish like Peter. He has this just full extension, this full extension on his finish that I wanted I wanted to replicate so bad. And uh I did it a few times, but I couldn’t get it all the way there. That’s a lot of practice. I’m going to have to retire and play every day almost like he does. Oh, that was But it was a that was nice. Peter is on fire. He’s been doing very very well. Yes, he has. Robin’s talking about there. Hello. Hello. Hello. Look at here. Peter Evans. What do you say? Uh, my name is Peter, but my last three rounds aren’t that low. Well, dude, neither are mine, so don’t worry about it. You’re amongst friends here. Uh, no judge. As long Bottom line, bud, if you like golfing, good enough, right? We all want to improve on our own scores. That’s all we got to compete with because if that was the case, I would never I would never golf with Peter because he smokes us all the time. So, but it’s just it’s about having fun, right? Enjoying hitting that ball. Well, that’s what I went down there for is just hitting the ball, making good contact. Outside of that, the results will will speak for themselves. And I was telling another guy, this is the first time, so I don’t know if it was Peter’s influence or Bob’s or both or maybe more whiskey, but um normally when I go down, I do these trips. The last round the wheels just come clean off the cart for me and just like what is golf? I can’t hit it. Can’t hit it very far. Don’t hit it very well. I mean, it’s bad. And and so frustrating. And my blood pressure goes up about a gazillion points. And this time was the first time in a long time that it didn’t. And we kept I kept that mantra going that don’t think just hit, swing like Peter. Don’t hit, just think, just swing like Peter. And and although they weren’t I had one what I call a decent round in low 80s, the rest of them mid 80s, I will take that on foreign courses at Myrtle Beach all day long and and swung through it. And in the very last day, I thought I felt it coming and I just kind of grit my teeth and got through it and shot a pretty decent round. So, I’m happy. I am super duper happy. And as I sent Peter a note, he’s not the only one that can get hole in ones in front of a crowd. He he got his one on uh on the was it Augusta’s number 12 replica, hole number eight at the world tour. He got himself a hole in one and we proceeded to go play putt putt and I got three of them. Definitely not the same, but I can still say I got three holes in one. Okay, there’s Chris from a rating Sweden. Hope it’s all good with you and Robin. Thank you, sir. Hopefully same here. Uh we’re waiting to see what the new thought process. You’re not totally out of your golf season yet, are you? There’s Rom saying, “Hello, Steven.” Hey everyone, played only on Saturday. Shot in 84. Was sick all last week and stayed in Saturday. Feeling better now. Might have picked up something from my trip to Myrtle Beach. Well, I’m glad you caught it, not me. But uh uh I came back tired. I came back tired. But uh 84, hey, that’s a respectable number. I’ll take that all day. What irons you swinging now? Uh, what irons you swinging in your video, Kister? Oh, yeah. Let’s see. Let’s hear about that one. There we go. Hello. Hello, Pete Evans again. What would be the best graphite shaft single bin putter shaft? H. Well, most there really isn’t a how shall I say it? There’s not a I don’t see that there’s a big divisor in single bin putter shafts the uh now again uh oh graphite sorry graphite single bin putter shafts. Well, if you find one, you let me know. Uh that one would be that one would be tough. Uh, if you like graphite and you want a single bend, chances are you’re going to have to go with something like a BGT. And a BGT is the uh uh is a putter shaft that’s primarily graphite. The last bit of it is steel, and you can bend the steel to whatever you like. And then you insert it in there, and you glue it up, and you’ve got yourself a putter shaft. Uh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single bin graphite putter shaft before. In fact, I’d have to say I’ve never seen one. I’ve seen combinations thereof. I’ve seen graphite and steel. That one, and those do exist. Um, uh, Callaway had one. It was called the stroke lab. That was actually quite nice. It was kind of a takeoff of the matrix shaft that Bubba Watson used to play. But right now, if you wanted one and you wanted it, you had to stay there with it. I would look up BGT and talk to them and see what they can do for you. Ah, here we go. Ker says, “It’s the one swinging CB1’s from Nordica Golf is Swedish brand irons are made in the same factory as Tacomao and the one swing. They were all single lengths, too, right? Is that what that stood for? The one swing. Let’s see. Wayne says, “Can you take a driver’s shaft and use it in a fairywood? I know the shaft must be cut on the butt end.” The answer is yes, you can, Wayne. And you can also cut it on the tip section depending on the type of shaft. Um, according again, each shaft is different just like there’s different cars out there. Uh sometimes if if they just put it in and it’s a stock shaft that you can probably tip trim it a half of an inch to an inch and I I would measure the outside to make sure that the tip section didn’t change on you and and knock a little bit off of the bottom end first. And the reason being is the 3-wood head is heavier than the driver shaft. So, it’s going to make the driver shaft play way more flexible if you didn’t trim it on the tip section and then cut it to length there. S20 forged irons. Very cool. Kite extra stiff hard step one time. That is some serious getting it right there. Well, yeah, he posted some pretty decent scores not too long ago. Marknat, what do you say, sir? There you go. Yes, contact is really nice, feeling sound. Wilson makes good irons. Yes, they do. And I I am fully suspecting that uh we’re probably going to see a new one of these. And we’re probably going to see a new the new product, the cavity uh the cavity back like you got. and maybe the blade. We’ll see about that one. Alrighty, Sam. What is it? Lab putter. Sam speaks that when using a lab putter, you need to roll the ball, not hit the ball. Great. How do you How do you roll a golf ball? I know how to do this with bowling balls and baseballs and etc. Well, that’s easier said than done. So, what he’s what I think he’s alluding to, Peter, is is not is putting through the ball. Meaning that uh not just hit the ball where you can get to the point where you bring it back and you just kind of go and that you know the little the the stab putter person. What they’re talking about is just swinging putting through the ball. And that’s what they want is putting through the ball. Now, when I do this and I’m swinging like all this, I don’t mean, you know, way back and way this way. What I mean is, and man, this thing just wants to follow me in the worst way. There we go. Um, what I mean is is don’t stab at the ball. You know, you get the guys that were like um uh Yasper Parnovic was a huge stabber of the ball where he just come upon and then that would be it trying to punch the ball or push the ball to the hole instead of allowing you the putter to flow through it and and talking with him. That’s what uh and we talked about that too when I got to talk to him. And it’s more about and you were doing it right with your cuz uh Peter has the taller putter and uh when he’s holding it, you don’t want to do like this. You’re just and and and getting through it, you know, keeping it low, keeping it through and and not getting really too far too far past your feet. That’s what he’s look that’s what he’s talking about because the the putter will guide you particularly the lab putter will guide you through that shot. Pete Charlie I almost put a set of Dino Power fours in the bag but ended up with an underrated set of uh King Cobra Tours. Yeah, either ones works. Uh G27 right Robin and Friends currently here in Fort Worth. No golf for last month and a half. Well, dude, get better. Uh, relax. Enjoy. It’s now we are now into football season. We are now into football season here in Ohio State. It is they are at a fevered pitch because uh they’re number one and they are being undefeated so far. Uh, I won’t say that they’ve played anybody. They their first game they did very very well and that was a tester right out of the gate. Now they played uh Ohio University which it it’s not a walk in the park but it’s not playing uh but you’re all it’s how you say it’s not like playing the clock makers for the lighthouse for the blind college but it’s also not that simple either. So, uh, I’m glad they got some time and, uh, now we’re going, now that we’re in week four, all that all that easy game stuff is over and rubbers meeting the road and we’ll see how that works. My team’s done it, too. I’m a big Nebraska fan and uh, I haven’t had anything to be a fan of for the last handful of years, but we’re 3 and 0. We’ve played two watchmakers for the, you know, criminally insane or whatever. and but uh and one decent one, but next week is Michigan, so that’s going to be the test. Char says, “Charlie, I’ve game the FG49 Tour Blades, the C900s, and the D100 Irons.” Well, dude, you’re you’re about now about ready to game all the uh the the new ones now that are going to be about a year or two old. Those are some really nice ones. I think you would really enjoy them, to be honest. Wilson does make good irons. Yes. F49. FG49. That was actually a very nice club for them. Yes, they had a threeiron to pitch and was in the blade and easy to hit blade. Yeah, the the one they’ve got here now. Uh Kster, it is it’s kind of odd. I know it’s to say this, but uh I’ve never had a club I really couldn’t turn over until I hit that blade. That is a uh if you had a hard time pulling on a on a golf ball like or didn’t have a hard time pulling on a golf ball like I do, that blade was right there. I could not get that thing to go over. In fact, it was all open fades to me. Didn’t like the S3 from Auna. 241 iron was better uh with the same tour shaft. Really? You like the blade better than the other one? That would be odd. But the iron’s cool. The 241’s the blade. And it Now, I will say it does feel cool when you hit the center. Here we go. Vic is saying he likes his Maltby Forged. Maltby makes a pretty good product. I’m going to have to say the TS line. Uh, that would be my one of my favorite, but I can’t convince them to make a lefty version of it. Frederick Jackson, what do you say? Hello, Jim Robin. Hope is well. Gloves are working well for me. Good. Did change the putter grip to the fat superstroke. Ah, okay. And got that. Got a Vokei 60. Now I’m going to Now I’m going low because everything else was perfect. Thank you, sir. Appreciate the good news. Frederick is a very tall golfer. I was wondering, did you ever get out there and beat your buddy? Uh, one of his friends was a uh a longtime basketball coach and player and, uh, he gets to go around and play a lot of the Golf Digest courses. And, uh, just one heck of a player. Just I mean, can still move the ball pretty good. And uh now we’ve given Frederick a a shot at giving him some competition. So hopefully that’s what’s happened. There’s Penny Lintz on there. Look at that. Saying hi, Robin. All right. Good job. She’s been in planning stages for the time that we take off, Penny. So watch out. Uh figure out I have a multi T forged four iron. Love the feel and design. the sand uh that they stopped at making the model. I was sad that they stopped making the model. Yep, they got but they do. I believe they have something in that same line. It’s just a different letter. Looks like a good lunch to me. Yeah, you got to we get to I had two ribs this morning for lunch and I’m going to have a chicken breast tomorrow and we’ll probably chop it up and try and turn it into a uh kind of a chicken salad kind of thing. It’ll be pretty cool. He’s liking Vic’s liking them TS3s. I think that’s a good club. I I mean it’s a certainly a competitor to the 790s and anything in that category for sure. There’s my buddy Bob and he’s figured out how to answer on YouTube. Look at him go getting all technological and stuff. Oh, Christ says, “The season’s over. After season is time to upgrade stuff in the bag, like RTZ wedges and a better putter. thinking of a A1 square to square max stripe. Well, I won’t argue with you on the RTZ. Uh the square to squares, I don’t know which one’s the square max stripe. Oh, if that’s the uh the mallet looking one. Uh I know you’re going to but test it before you do it because when I set up to it, it looked like it wanted to close all day long on me. Now, the one that I liked on the square to square was their uh wide soul blade looking one. I thought that one lined up really, really good. Oh, oops. Hello, Vic. Rob says, “Hello, Bob.” Driver, I don’t know yet. Hybrids may be the M1 from 2017 or 19. 2017 number 19. There we go. Chris’s putting it together again. John Lamb, I all know golf this week. We both managed to catch cold from the youngans running around. H man, mom’s celebration of life last week, but uh make sure to hit that thumbs up. Well, thank you. Make sure you hit that thumbs up, man. Charlie washed washed his work personal vehicle and changes the oil in the personal vehicle. There’s a weekend right there. I got uh we moved all the car care stuff back into our new garage. So, who knows what’s going to happen next. I will tell you a story of uh me being incredibly stupid. Uh we went to go get some insulation and I hooked up the the hooked up the trailer. Of course, I got my own little mental checklist of chains and and things to prevent the the the trailer from coming unhitched, the whole nine yards. And I mentally I think maybe I was maybe mentally I’m thinking, geez, did I really do what I said I do? Long story short, I got about a mile down the road, the trailer came off. Well, and I of course you got to slow down while this thing’s coasting. But we’re going down a hill. So now I’ve got to go further and this trailer is wobbling back and forth. And I got into the parking lot down at the bottom of the hill and I still wasn’t going slow enough and the damn trailer ran into my truck bumper. So now I got a jacked up trunk bunker bumper and I got a jacked up thing that handle that makes it go around. I’ve got to fix that. And I was like, gee Christmas, what a bonehead play that was. And so all that did was cost me money. Uh but it is what it is. All righty. Sorry about to hear about your mom. Yes, John. Sorry to hear about your mom. Uh yesterday I played in a Sunday tour. My club started good plus one after nine holes. Then hell broke loose. Three holes in the back n destroyed my score. Two double bogeies. Oo and one nine. Ouch. That’ll hurt. We got to get you to get the closure, man. John Lamb, exactly the same way I drilled out the feral just seemed to either just to ream or fit a bigger shaft. the old held mind old great minds thing. Yep. I don’t know if I’d use a reamer per se. The It would do the job. It would do the job to be sure, but uh getting it started might be a little difficult to be online where the drill will pull you through. Uh so that I would look at that one. Yep, that’s it. Yeah, shooting a nine on the back on the back is is that’s a that’s a that’s a tough thing to come back from when you don’t have any holes left. There’s Miss McGoff. Uh James Gger says, “Hi, Jen Robin. What’s your opinion on back weighting a shaft with lead tape or tungsten putty uh lengthen by a half inch? I want to keep the same swing weight. Think I would need to add six grams. Your sound is choppy per crystal and I confirmed. That I don’t know about we’ll have to keep going and see what happens. I told you. Okay. Uh, well, Jim, I I’m not a I’m not a huge fan of adding weight just for the sake of of swing weighting a club, but if I were to do it, there’s a couple of ways you could use. I would use lead tape. I would stay away from tungsten putty and and I would put it all on the bottom of the shaft into the in the this part of your fingers in order for it to feel better. And I would start with about 4 g first. And you’d be surprised when you go to put this back on because um the thing is you lengthen the club and you added some stuff in the back to lengthen it already. So you might want to measure it first, right? Because you know you made it longer. True, right? And that’s going to give you some swing weight points. However, you put material back there to make that happen. And depending on the amount of material, you very well may be close already. So you want to be careful about how much you add. The other one is is they got those weights. They’re called tour locks or balance certified. You can just shove those in the back and just see what happens with that. Yeah, I three putted one hole for a bogey. Oh my. There we go. Hello. Hello, Pete. John Lamb, Peter, you’re just smoking up the course. He is. He’s hitting the He’s hitting the ball very, very well. Uh, low kick point driver shafts. Can you just take a regular flex and tip trim a little bit more to get the flex up to maybe R or S? Your opinion is greatly respected. Thanks. Um, low kickpoint shafts, it doesn’t matter. The where the kick points at, it’s all about flex. Okay. Uh, if you take a regular flex and trim it a little bit, can you get it up to an RS? The answer there is probably yes. Uh, I wouldn’t go any more than an inch. Otherwise, it stops becoming a driver shaft. Uh, but you can always tip trim. We, you know, we’ve done it/ inch, 3/4 of an inch. It’s always going to become stiffer. Now, how much? It depends on the profile, right? I I’m sorry to sound so general about things, but that’s just how it works. It depends on the shaft and how you’re going to measure it. Uh, but as a whole, just in the general concept of it, if you have a regular flex, I wouldn’t go any I’d say half to 3/4 of an inch, assuming that you have at least a a 3 to 4 inch tip section on it at a minimum. Okay? If you have an inch tip section on it when you start, no, you’re pretty much stuck. So, you have to know a little bit more about the shaft. Yeah. I can say, “Yeah, tripping off.” And then all of a sudden you’re into a point where it won’t go back into the hoszle. That’s the reason why I’m telling you all this. So, if you go back in there and you you have you can look up the maker, right? And just say, “Okay, uh and it’ll give you a tips section uh inches.” And if you’re in that 3 to 4 in section, then yes. Uh if you’re not, it’s much smaller, then don’t do it because it’ll just ruin the shaft. Oh, it’s not. I thought one swing meant single length. Okay. Learn something new. I’m saying hello. John, hi Robin. Mom was uh was my mom-in-law. She passed November uh when we were in Arizona for a wedding. Donated body science. We just got the ashes back. It was a good celebration. She was well loved. Well, good. That’s what you want. That celebration of life. And there you go. Robin’s talking back. Robin’s saying hello to Glattus. And Stacy aka Frederick. Yep. Look at Robin’s talking back. Willard Clark. Here’s a new one. We haven’t seen him for a while. Good evening, Robin and Jim. How you doing, buddy? Got a question? Let us know. The sound is choppy. I don’t know what I can do. She told me. So, give me a minute. Hopefully that helped a little bit. We’ll see. Will you offer Orca irons now that they’re coming to the USA? Uh, I had no idea that they were coming to the USA. I didn’t know Alex had any uh any intention of coming this way. He had me listed as a dealer for the longest of times. Uh but I don’t I I I just don’t know. The answer is I don’t know. The RS line is very very solid. Uh of course you’re seeing they’re getting some good results from the My Golf Spice, so I’m sure he’s blowing up by now. Uh definitely a good product. I will say that. the lab copy. I have tested it and I like how it looks behind the ball. Now, that one, that one, if that’s what they call the max lines, crystal, then yeah, I’d agree. Uh, if it was that one that looked like the jailbird and because it has a line about that wide on, I thought maybe that’s what you’re talking about. Not that one. No, I don’t know what to tell you, bud. My everything I’ve got shows me doing good. Let me look here. Yep. Let’s see if this thing fixes itself. I do have a question. If is it possible to have my 60 opus wedge and on the VOI 60 opus shaft on the Voki 60 or would that be counterproductive? Well, we can switch them. That’s for sure. Yeah, they should fit. I don’t use a reamer on the fererals, just a drill bit. I meant that the reaming. Oh, yeah. No problem. Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah, that’s the only way to go as far as I’m concerned in order to make it bigger. James Ger, you’re right about the tungsten putty. I once used it to added to the Ping 438 iron head and had the weight and when it gets hot in the car, it made a mess. Yeah, we don’t want that. end up going with lighter grips. Okay. Lighter grips if you wanted to make it if you made it longer and you’re going to put there uh lighter grips should have made it feel heavier. So maybe what I was telling you about all that added weight was probably where you needed to go and we’ll and we get there for that. So, okay. So, we got down to the bottom. Woohoo. Look at that. James Gyer, the last one. We’ll take him off of there. Oh, there we go. Okay, guys. We did make it to 6:30. I got like 2 minutes. And if everything’s being choppy, is probably the time to call it anyway. The uh So, again, thank you guys for watching. Thanks for the Thank you for the answers or the questions. Uh both answers and questions. Uh Chris schooled me on the one swings, so that’s always good to know. Uh anyway, with that one, don’t forget we’re going to have a video coming out and uh we’re going to have the video coming out. Don’t forget to like and subscribe this video. Don’t forget to like and subscribe on pars and pores if that’s your thing. And as always guys, let’s see your scores go low.
