Join me as I play the 6-hole Par 3 course at Belle Isle Golf Detroit. If you’re in the city, it’s a great little spot to get in a few holes, sharpen your short game, unwind after the day, and soak in some nature on Belle Isle.

We’ve had a bit of a dry spell here in Detroit, but it’s a beautiful summer day nonetheless. And today I’m here at the Par 3 sixhole course at Bella Golf Detroit. All the holes are 35 yards to 65 yards long. Today I’m going to be playing with the Titalist Prov1, my Sterling Iron 63° lob wedge, and my Lab Golf putter. The course is a little bit dry, but the greens are soft, so there’s a good opportunity to go for some flag sticks. Let’s get out there and have some fun. [Music] We’re off to the first hole. First one is uh 65 yards from the marker, 73 actual. Today the pin is just a touch back of middle. Um this one pretty well uh straightforward. Sometimes you can tuck the uh pin behind a bunker, but today it’s basically middle but back. But the fun thing about this is there’s a little shelf on the back of the green. So, if you hit it a little bit long, uh, and you put some a lot of backspin on it, you can have some fun like hitting it long and then zipping it back. So, for this one, that’s what I’m going to try and do. Even though there’s the danger of like going over the green, but, you know, let’s have some fun. That should be better. That was kind of fun. Got some backspin on it. Hey hey so close. So that was super cool. First hole. only got a par out of it, but it was fun to uh take it past the hole and and zip it back. Um, now we’re on to the second hole. This one is 45 yards, I believe, and today it is playing 38. So, the T is up a little bit. Um, the pin looks like it’s a touch back. This is a tricky one. Um, this can play really hard if the uh pin is tucked behind the bunker. Um, it’s not today. It’s more in the middle, but the hole on the line of the T- box to the flag, the hole slopes away from you. So, you have to carry far enough to get on the green, but then you also need enough spin, backspin, or landing angle to be able to get it to hold on the green and stay on the green. So, this one, although it’s pretty straightforward, it’s you have a really small margin of error of where you can get this to land. Um, and there is definitely potential for it to go over the back. Yeah, I did hit it over. almost using our wedge to put it in. We go. I got to be careful about what I say there because I talked about uh the ball going over the back and then sure enough I did. I guess I should uh I need to watch my focus there because interestingly on this course that hole is the only one I haven’t gotten a hole in one on yet. And so I guess I should have uh been making sure I was focusing on trying to make a hole in one or trying to have a hole in one instead of it going over the back. But anyway, uh Eek got out of there with a par. On to the next one. The third hole. This one is 35 yards. Uh the T is a little bit back and also the pin is a little bit back today. So 42 yards straight away. Um not it’s this one’s pretty flat where the pin is today. So just going to give a go right at it. Try and get my focus going a little bit better and then uh see what we can do. That’s way short. Oops. Straight but short. Number three and number four here are two of my favorite holes at Bell Isle. Um because it’s tucked away from everything, so it’s really quiet. You’re away from the roadway, away from a lot of the noise. Um you’re back in the nature here a little bit and you’re right along this channel, the Detroit River. So I I really like coming out here and playing this uh these two holes. Uh number three and number four. Uh number four coming up here is uh 35 yds from the sign. Believe it’s 41 today. So the mat is just a touch back and also the pin is a little bit back. This is a tricky one. Um you may remember this from uh my holein-one challenge that I just posted where I played this hole 100 times and uh to see if I could make a hole in one. And the odds of a pro from I think 20 yards in the fairway is only one in 105, one in 110. So, not likely. So, it just wasn’t likely that I was going to make a hole in one, but sure enough, I did. Super cool. So, it definitely wanted to see if I can uh make another one. It’s a little tricky. Uh I got to carry it um over a hump and the pin is tucked past the hump. So, I can either maybe fly it long, spin it back, fly it a little short, and get it to trickle over the hole over the hump there into the hole. I can’t quite see the hole. It’s because it’s tucked behind that ridge. So, we got got some options here. Let’s uh let’s see how we do. I pushed it. Still pretty close though. Straight from here. Oh my goodness. Whoops. Oopsie. Missed a short one. Um, but good for you to see that. I think perception would be that pros make all the short putts. And indeed, that was a super short one. So, probably should have made that one, but just goes to show you got to focus on those. You wouldn’t uh believe um how many times I’ve seen Um, pros miss those in tournaments, in tour events that I’ve been playing in, but it happens. Um, pros, I believe, from 8 feet are only 50/50. So, it’s, uh, definitely possible to, uh, to miss the short ones. Uh, but that happens sometimes. So, anyway, let’s go on to the next one. Uh, number five is 35 yards. Um, today it’s playing 42. The mat is back. The pin is a little bit back. And this is a this is an interesting one. It’s possible I could go under uh under this tree um that’s in the way there, but the grass is kind of long. Um so it’s it’s hard to kind of bump and run it up there. So really the only play is to kind of go up and over. But if you go just a little bit too far left, you can clip those uh branches on the left. So you really got to be p there’s just a small window where you got to go and you could uh clip that branch. So, got to be just right. Hit it over the tree. Um, 42 yards. Um, let’s try and make one. Little short mark repair tool, but Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Left it short. Another par there. Uh that’s five for the day. Uh we’re on to the last hole. This one is 45 yards from the sign. It’s 40 today, so a little bit shorter. This one’s a little bit tricky because uh you got to fly a bunker, but then at the front of the green there’s there’s a hump. So, if you’re a little short left, it bounces away left. And if you’re a little short right, it bounces away right. So, you got to be uh got to get over the bunker, get over the hump, and then that pin is right behind the hump, and it it uh breaks a little bit left or right. So, you got to be really precise uh with the shot here. Um let’s give it a go. Oh, I hit that too hard. Okay. Hey, hey, hey. Six parts. Well, there we go.
