We have a three car garage, so plenty of room for a sim, right? Not so fast, everywhere I turn there’s an obstacle! The ceiling height is 9’6”, I have swung a driver in there and don’t hit the ceiling.
Bay 1 has my wife’s car, that won’t be popular due to…well yeah. It also has an electric door opener, and this is where the back door is located.
Bay 2 has the most space. It also has an electric door opener, but the metal support posts are 11’ apart, and they’re both 12’ 6” from the back wall. The sink that you can see in the pictures would be minimally in the way.
Bay 3 has no electric opener, but it does have the HVAC unit for the upstairs room there. The lowest part of that HVAC unit feed tube is 8’5.”
One thought is bay two, towards the back wall, but I don’t know that 12’6” is enough depth?
Thought two is from bay 2 into bay 3, alongside the sink, but the HVAC system comes into play there, as well as the support pole for bay 3.
I’d like at least a ten foot wide sim with a screen, not a net. I’m considering a square or other photo sensor launch monitor so I can shorten the distance instead of a lidar (radar?) type that has to go behind.
Im pretty handy and can move anything in there except the support poles. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest the Square with the GoSports Elite 10ft net w impact screen and two side shank nets (Costco has great price online for package). Impact screen sold separately.
Splurge on a good mat. Sig pro softy strip. Etc.
Get a nice budget projector or if you have budget splurge on a projector. Short throw projectors get expensive fast.
9 ft 6 is enough clearance as long as your aren’t extremely tall.
Anything Sports and GoSports have really nice Golf Bay Enclosures for sims. I have the GoSports 10 ft model Golf Bay, but I still find myself liking the Elite Net Better. Both are very good products though.
I would say figure out your launch monitor first. That is going to dictate a lot.
