East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s golf team shot a 1-under par 287 in the second round and is in sixth place among 11 teams at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, being played at Öviinbyrd Golf Club in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Notre Dame leads the field at 25-under par 551, with Michigan in second, Missouri in third place at 17-under par 576, UNCW fourth at 13-under par 563 and Miami (Ohio) fifth at 3-under par 573.

The Spartans are one shot back at 2-under par 574 (287-287).

Senior Caleb Bond leads the Spartans at 4-under par 140 (68-72), standing in a tie for 12th place overall.

Juniors McCoy Biagioli and Lorenzo Pinili are tied for 25th place with scores of even-par 144. Both golfers recorded identical scores of 1-over par 73 on Monday to finish at even-par 144.

Graduate Ashton McCulloch and freshman Connor Fox tied for the low team round of the day with each posting a 1-under par 71. McCulloch is tied for 41st place at 4-over par 148 (77-71), while Fox is tied for 44th place at 5-over par 149 (78-71).

Sophomore Juan Velasquez, playing as an individual, shot a 2-over par 74 and is tied for 35th place at 3-over par 147 (73-74).

The Spartans will tee off on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9 a.m., playing alongside UNCW and Miami (Ohio).
