EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s golf team hosted their annual Frank Wrigglesworth Invitational on Sunday and Monday at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club. The Blugolds finished in the top-5 both days to finish the tournament in 5th place out of 22 teams. UWEC finished 15 strokes behind the eventual tournament winners, Illinois Wesleyan, who finished with the two day event at +17 over par.

Drew Maglio recorded the lowest event score for the Blugolds with a 75 on day one and a 74 on day two to finish tied for 13th place out of 119 competitors. Maglio recorded five birdies on the weekend and 22 pars to finish the tournament at +7 over par. Spencer Lynch also placed within the top-20 overall after shooting the lowest round for Eau Claire with a 71 on day one. Lynch captured the lone Eagle of the weekend for Eau Claire with a 3 on hole 18 to finish day one tied for third at even par. 

Cameron Stenzel, Luke Tabel, and Ryan Jamieson all placed within the top 50 with placements at 27th, 33rd, and 49th respectively, helping earn UWEC the 5th place finish. Stenzel finished his weekend at +9 over par while Taebel and Jamieson finished at +10 and +13.

The Blugolds second team finished tied for 17th overall as Alec Sosnowski and Bennett Madson both placed within the top-50 as well. Sosnowski finished the weekend at +11 over par and Madson finished his two rounds at +13 over.

The Blugolds will head South next weekend for the 2025 NCAA Division III Fall Preview at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The three day tournament features 24 Division III teams from across the nation.
