Hey, does your impact position look like this? Often when I tape my clients golf swing at impact, they look like this. And then I’ll ask them, hey, what are you trying to do here when you hit the golf ball? Most of them are trying to pick the ball clean, lift the ball up in the air, and get it up off the ground. And when you do that, you start looking like this. From here, you could hit a lot of fat shots, and you can hit a lot of thin shots. What we’re really looking for at impact is making sure that our hands are ahead, that the shaft has a lean forward, and that all of our weight is forward and on our left foot. And from here, we can make that great impact where that ball feels like a marshmallow and just rockets off that club face. The way to do that is to try to practice impact. And the best way to do that is a very simple drill called the impact drill. So you start with your address position. And this is here an eight iron. You start with your address position with your eight iron. And then the goal is at impact what I want to do is get into a seveniron loft. And so in order to get a seven iron loft, I’d have to get my hands ahead. I’d have to have a little slight lean of the shaft. And of course, most of my weight or all of my weight is on my front side.
