The Race to Dubai is back and this week marks the return of the Rolex Series at the BMW PGA Championship, with an impressive international line-up made up of Major champions and upcoming Ryder Cup players. All seven players to have won the BMW PGA championship during the Rolex Series era are in action this week, including Shane Lowry, Ryan Fox, Francesco Molinari, Tyrrell Hatton, Danny Willet, Alex Noren, and Billy Horschel, who is back at Wentworth despite having hip surgery earlier this year. Horschel will be aiming to defend his title after last year in which he came out on top against Rory McIlroy and Thriston Lawrence in a dramatic final round and play-off. BMW PGA Championship debutant, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen is one of the players to watch, with a course that could work in his favour, however with a career grand slam in his pocket, could McIlroy take it one step further this year and take the title?
Welcome to the Official YouTube channel of the DP World Tour. up into the sun and straight over to the pin. Look at this for Maroy. [Applause] Almost an albatross. Perfect T-shot from Dietri trying to enlight his draw. So this is a really accessible pin for him. And they will be going at everything today. Oh, it’s another beautiful island. Look at this. [Applause] He’s going to be catching Dri soon. And it is another step forward for Rory Maroy who’s on the outskirts of the top 20 now. Big strong man Sean Norris. He sort of uses his strength to just pat it down there and nearly in. He’s trying to hit it hard. So he’s now within five. This is Wacken Neman who had an excellent round yesterday. What a way to start. Looks like he’s been lucky off the tea between the two bunkers down the right. Left himself the perfect angle to this left hand pin and taken full advantage. Really nice from Aaron. Guarantee he’ll be taking dead aim after that. He’ll be angry. Oh, super shot. That’s what Victor does best. Takes the flags on. Very rarely comes up short, this man. Yeah. Excellent. That’s what you do. You make a bogey, a three-part bogey, and he comes straight back with a birdie. I love this kid’s balance. Great, great balance to swing. Not a lot can go wrong. So 151 wedge taking dead aim. And why not? Terrific. As you’d expect, he’s reached the par five fourth hole. He’s made a couple of borgis. I should get one of them back. You doesn’t matter where you put the flags with ter. His goal is just just to fire at them down the grip at four. Go, go, go. It did. Lovely shot from Fitzpatrick who really has started to find a little form over the last couple of months and more bubbling up nicely. This, isn’t it? If he gets one in close here, Dom could be very interesting. Oh, it’s go hard. Go. Well, it did just about, didn’t it? Look at that. He’ll have that for an eagle to get within one of the leads. The fifth and Aaron Ry. Yeah, this pin in a little bowl at the back right of this green. So, you land it about 10 yards short. You get a kick forward and in she comes. Oh, that’s superb. Two really good shots from this group. And what a a bonus this would be. As you guys in the box have rightly described, you’re trying to be one under after four. He’s got it. Hold a couple of really nice ones late in his round yesterday. Actually had a spectacular finish. Birdie Birdie Eagle. Won’t be long till he holds one. He putts for fun. Beautiful putter. It is the first bird of the day for the 2020 BMW PGA champion. So pattern to 14 under one point Gryffindor. That’s going to be pretty good. It’s had a six, a seven, and a four so far this week. Hopefully a three to finish. Now he’s played it another great shot. Quality of the goalke incredible. Top 11. None of them have dropped the shot tonight. Close. Good line. Two yards further left than it would have kicked on. And further left, but still an outstanding shot. Sweet as a nut. Quite a swing from right to left. Little down the hill. Is it going to make it? Is it going to make it? It has. Finished with an eagle last week. We finished with an eagle this week. Round of 65. What a roar. What a player. The ultimate crowdleaser. Rory Maroy. Beautiful contact. Just beautiful contact. Outstanding shot. Such a lot can go wrong when you’re swinging that hard open club face out of fluffy rough. Best putter over the first three days. Noran. That’s why [Applause] What of Larry at 40? Really good iron player, Shane. Best part of his game statistically. There’s an example of it there. Same weapon. Five iron. Get back there. What a marvelous response. Look at this. Standing. That is a feature at Tier Hatton. Ry found the flat fairy at the base of the Her seven. Second shot up the slope and played just to perfection. The quality of the golf was outstanding. who was awkward could open the club face. Green running away from him. Fitzpatrick little floater. Oh, magic. Absolute dream ticket. Landed in the fringe. Landed very softly. Another 10 balls. He probably wouldn’t do that. [Applause] You’re a spy. McInley. A spy. Super excellent. Great chance that Tier Hatton will avoid making bogey there. He’s a very experienced, gritty campaigner. Minu Lee short of the 15th. Well, there you go. Drop one at the last. Not playing the 15th that well, but a lovely little pitch there. That’s more like it. Nine pass now. Let’s start the birdie run. And we’ll see if Yan Ferguson can make a birdie, which he can at number 11. Very well done. [Applause] And this is Fickard back down the 11th hole. Very good from Thickard. And there we go. Sier goes to the top of the leaderboard. Just 97. Trying to stun it. Oh, beautiful. Just 91 and the wind has lulled, which means he can land at 93 if he so chooses and get this thing to zip back at it. Two superb shots. Must get up and down here for Fitzpatrick. Running out of holes. Nicely done. That was a 72nd Eagle of the Week. See on 18. All right, up the hill the path three 14th through the rain. Beauty. [Applause] So easy for this to tail off. Beautiful. right in the middle and he’s just a couple behind. Well, that proves to me he’s not feeling pressure at the moment. Here’s Sadier in the bunker at 12. It’s fiddly. They can shoot out of wet sand. He’s knocked this by, but he’s played a perfect shot. There you go. All well good game this guy. Strange day for Victor. Stalled a little bit at the weekend. Is the time for a final surge. Good three there on 13. [Applause] Well, got to take dead aim. Green light putt. Green light put. Green light shot for Havland here. Yeah, he likes those pins on the right. So, need to give this a a bit of a walop. Slightly out of his left. He’s woped it right into the hole. And maybe a significant move from Alex N. It was a lovely second shot. It was against his natural way of playing. Yeah, just what the doctor ordered. Norah’s given him a chance, open the door a little bit and he said a pearler. I’ll tell you what, I like that putt on the previous green. You know, I didn’t sort of back out a bit. Fabulous. Just fabulous. One of the toughest park fours in the course made to look easy. We talked about the difference towards the end of the front line. That’s continuing. Maybe a little bit of check on the second mouth and release it. Then [Applause] quality plus from both of them. Can he get this in tight? This should have some spin on this back flag. This is his game all over. Dancing around the cup from this range. Just a gap wedge. Taking it all the way. Getting it to stick. [Applause] And he’s got it. What a P. What a time to hold it. Norin now leads by one. 19 under par. Definitely a two- horse race now. He’s been a different man today. Really? That body of 10 said I’m going. [Music] The last shot of regulation play as supplied by Alex N going for his third win in 21 days. And 72 holes not enough. That’s a good layup because that’s what he’s trying to do out there. That’s a weird shot. And you’re right, Olivia. He wouldn’t have made it had he taken that on. The wind has just lulled a little momentarily. What’s it all about? Two wonderful layups from two players in the playoff. The danger with a line that isn’t quite as clear as the other. Had to make sure he had some speed. Well, just beautifully played. He said slightly better line. Got a decent contact on the ball. quality. [Music] Difficult not to get the panner up fairly quickly. A lovely birdie for at the first extra hole. Nor knowing the champion, but Alex had to go the extra mile at the BMW. His champion here at Wentworth for the second time. Alex, many, many congratulations. You’ve won the BMW PJ Championship 2025. The second time you’ve won this magnificent championship. Just what does this mean to you? Uh, I don’t know. It’s It’s so many emotions right now. It’s like the playoff like felt a little bit easier than maybe coming down the 72nd hole. A little bit better conditions. Uh, I thought I hit that one in the water. Uh but I had a great lie. So I t trying to put it up here on the right side of the green but uh and then got fortunate with a with a good break. The the chip was sitting quite nicely. I saw his ball wasn’t didn’t catch as nice a break maybe. So it makes a difference. Just briefly, were you going for the green and 18? I was. Yeah. I wasn’t laying up there. I know both you both did it there. We were kind of quizzing. Radar was saying we didn’t think you could reach. It was really cold and into the breeze. Yeah, but we I had such a good live. I think the water kind of got us both maybe. Um and then trying to hit it up here. Uh but obviously it was tough tougher than we thought. You and Adrian matched each other shot for shot through that back n and in the playoff as well. Just what was going through your mind? How were you processing, you know, what do I need to do to win this? Take a risk, wait for a mistake, what? Yeah, I mean I I I think I played I hit my iron shots way better the first three days and today I was kind of struggling a little bit with the with the hits. I hit it good off the tea. Uh and then my iron shots just felt a little tough and but my putting chipping hit, you know, got some long putts going in. It was, you know, you just got to fight. Sometimes it comes to easy and sometimes you just got to fight. And today was it felt like a fight. I think he probably outplayed me TD Green, but that’s how it goes. You won for the first time in seven years three weeks ago at the BM at the British Masters at the Belfrey. You’ve now done it again. What’s going on? How is this how has this come about? I don’t know. I I I like coming back to Europe and I like splitting time. I you know it’s feels great to see all the friends here and and uh my caddy and my coaches done a great job I think and kind of just trusted the process and and not weird away from it which I usually do otherwise and and yeah it it pays off I think you’re off to the RDER Cup as a vice captain in this form we’d like you to be playing if someone gets injured or sick they’re allowed to substitute somebody in if they do it before the opening ceremony. You going to take your clubs? No. Well, I take my CS this time, but then I’ll bring it home to Florida. I think the other guys have played better than me throughout the throughout the year. I’ve had put put in great result now the last month when it kind a little bit too late. So, I think the guys on the team is going to be fantastic and I’m really looking forward to that to that match more than I don’t know in a long time. Yeah. Just finally, a word for BMW. Wonderful sponsor of the tour. They do a cracking job here. Yeah. No, I mean I I love it. Like this tournament is unbelievable. I told all the guys that I play with in the States to to come over here. I think it’s one of the best tournaments in the whole world. Uh it just gets better every every year and and uh I I’m so grateful we have these kind of tournaments. Many many congratulations. Fantastic playing. Well done. Thank you. Thank you. "One point, Gryffindor!" Okay, that was a good one. Great 4th round, Rory.
Rory out of contention yet getting airtime as usual
Fantastic round 4 golf by so many players. Congratulations to Noren and his putter and well done Saddier.
You gotta luv Alex…congratulations mate!!!
My choice noren to win .congratulation
Bra spelat Alex, du är värd det efter mycket kämpande på Touren. 🙂
Åberg måste försöka hålla ihop spelet bättre o han kan spela bättre än vad han gjorde i denna tävling, kämpa på Ludvig Å
Here we go
What a playoff layoff haha
Bravo Adrien, you re a world class player ❤
Well Done Alex. Fantastic Golf
Rory just has to chill a bit sometimes he just gets whacking with no brain😢😊
Grattis vår hjälte🇸🇪😊
Well done admin for not posting just McIlroy's final round 😅
Alex is a great ambassador for golf. Europe could do a lot worse than Alex and Rosey to follow Luke as RC captains.
❤Gratulation
What's an Albert Ross…is 'e in the Ryder Cup team..
Congrats to Alex. He's a fine player and wonderful sportsman
Imagine having Noréns plugged bunker ball in the thumbnail and not even showing it in the highlights
Yay, Alex! Yay, Sweden!
Too much coverage of cheater Rory, not enough of Reed who played great and finished 3rd. Seems like Luke Donald picked the wrong Swede, should have picked Noren instead of Aberg for the Ryder Cup
Someone shouted “in the hole” and then it went in was that a miracle or are the spectators idiots?
Crazy low score for Wentworth -19 . We were there in 2017 when he shot the same score I think. That’s a very tough golf course but the rough wasn’t as bad as recent years because of the lack of rain. Very narrow landing spots.
For the first two days there were no other highlights than Rory’s… That’s what you call growing the game!
And then he fails to make the leaderboard. Splendid!
Nice to hear Laura commentating
Dp world tour >>>>> pga tour. From the guys on the field, to the broadcast, to the fans, to the YouTube coverage /highlights…. All of it!! Great job
How come on the second shot of the playoff, they are both short with their 3W with 174mph ball speed ?
I was rooting for Min Woo Lee to win, but that triple bogey killed him. Still a top 10 finish tho!!! 👍
Reed finishes third and I can't remember them showing a single shot of his 😂
Would have been good to see some highlights of Reed. Only came through the pack to get 3rd! But, half was Rory🤷♂️
So much McIlroy, so little of the leaders
Anyone else tired of them showing every shot or Rory BigMacelroy…he's 64 in the tourney 😢
