The Hope College women’s golf team finished runner-up at the 36-hole, 16-team Heidelberg University Fall Invitational that concluded on Saturday in Fostoria, Ohio.

The Flying Dutch’s ‘A’ group shot their two best rounds of the season over the weekend at Fostoria Country Club, posting a 314 on Saturday after carding 317 on Friday.

Junior Allyson Zuidema (Northville, Michigan / Northville) led Hope after tying for second place in the 91-golfer field at 9-over for the tournament.

Zuidema shot a 4-over 76 on Saturday, tying for the low round of the day. Heidelberg’s Brooke Barnes was the medalist at 6-over. The University of Mount Union’s Emma Packard also finished at 9-over.

Freshman Anelise Gatti (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) tied for 13th place at 15-over following a second-round 80.

Junior Rachael Jones (Grove City, Ohio / Grove City) tied for 15th at 16-over after an 80 on Saturday.

Senior Sara Muir (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) tied for 18th at 17-over following a final-round 81.

Junior Jaiden Winters (New Carlisle, Indiana / New Carlisle) tied for 26th at 22-over after a 79 on Saturday.

Hope’s B team finished fifth at 65-over. The Flying Dutch posted a 320 on Saturday after recording a 326 on Friday.

Junior Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) and freshman Gabby Hanover (Mason, Michigan / Mason) both fired second-round 76s.

Hanover tied for fourth at 10-over for the tournament. Gernaat tied for ninth at 13 over.

Freshman Kylie Gernaat (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Christian) chipped in an 83 on Saturday.

Senior Hannah Finch (Dexter, Michigan / Dexter) shot a final-round 85.

Senior Caydee Constant (Grand Haven, Michigan / Grand Haven) posted an 87 on Saturday.

Hope’s next tournament is the Midwest Region Classic on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 19-20, at Brighton Dale Golf Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
