PHOENIX — A homebuilder broke ground for the next phase of the Villas II luxury golf community at Seven Desert Mountain on Tuesday.

Camelot Homes announced the Villas II at Desert Mountain community earlier this year as a sequel to Camelot Homes’ Villas at Desert Mountain. All of the 23 homes in the new community neighbor hole No. 7 at Desert Mountain.

A groundbreaking ceremony attended by Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky, representatives from Desert Mountain Club, the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and Camelot Homes was held on Tuesday.

Each of the single-family, detached homes in the community range from 2,768 to 3,305 square feet and prices start at $2.4 million. Each floor plan ranges from two to four bedrooms and 3.5 to 4.5 bathrooms.

Villas II at Desert Mountain follows Seven Desert Mountain, the luxury golf community built within Desert Mountain in 2018.

“At Villas II, every homesite backs No. 7 at Desert Mountain, the USGA-rated championship par-54, 18-hole golf course that serves as the focal point of the community,” Camelot Homes Managing Director and Co-owner Julie Hancock Julie Hancock said in a release.

Built in 2019, No. 7 at Desert Mountain was the first new golf course to be built at Desert Mountain in almost 20 years. Six Championship Jack Nicklaus Signature Courses also reside in the 8,300-acre community.

“With homes set against the rolling green hills of the golf course, plus world-class amenities and easy access to recreational opportunities at nearby Tonto National Forest and Bartlett Lake, Villas II represents a rare opportunity—and the last chance to own a new home at Seven Desert Mountain,” Hancock said in a release.

Homeowners will be able to select between three levels of membership at Desert Mountain Club (pending club approval). In addition to the six Jack Nicklaus Signature championship par-72 golf courses and the USGA-rated, championship par-54, 18-hole golf course, the club also features a newly renovated Sonoran Spa and Fitness Center, a tennis complex, 20 miles of private hiking and biking trails as well as 10 restaurants and grills.
