It’s official. For the first time in 40 years, Nebraska will wear all red uniforms this Saturday versus Houston Christian. So, in today’s video, I’m going to give you my instant reaction because there are a lot of mixed responses going on right now. Some people love it, some people hate it. I’m going to give you my thoughts what this is going to look like. Is this good for the program? And so much more. So, really quick, if you’re excited about changing it up, I know I am. But without further ado, let’s get into it because we have a lot to talk about. Now, of course, in late July, about two months ago at this point, I leaped on the channel to you guys that Nebraska was preparing to unveil three alternate uniforms. Of course, the All Blacks, which were coming later in the season. It’s going to be a blackout game. That of course was confirmed. I told you guys, watch out for all red uniforms versus Houston Christian. That was just announced a couple minutes ago. And last but not least, a uniform that has not been confirmed yet. It’s still, of course, underground, but it will happen. We’re bringing back the all-white uniforms versus Minnesota on the road. So, let’s talk about the all reds, right? Um because again, there are a lot of people who love it and there are a lot of people who hate it. So, they released this just a couple minutes ago, basically a promo video wearing the all reds. It’s the normal uniforms, right? It’s not like an alternate, right? You got the normal red top, the normal red bottoms, but they’re together, and then of course you have the traditional white helmet. So, right off the bat, I mean, I love that we’re changing things up. I’ll tell you that right now. I I hate being a program that’s so stuck on tradition and oh, we have to wear the same uniforms every week. We have to wear the traditional home uniforms, traditional way uniforms. We cannot have fun. We cannot have alternate uniforms. We can’t do any of these things that these new hip programs are doing. We are traditional blueb blood. We have to have these strict rules. I hate that because it’s not that deep. Okay, it’s football at the end of the day. This is a college football team. It’s all about having fun and it’s all about what the players want and this is what the players want. Okay, Matt Rule said not too long ago that recruits always call him and ask, “Hey, when are you wearing the all red uniforms? When are you wearing the all-white uniforms?” And a lot of people who are out of touch, they think it doesn’t matter. But it does. Recruits care about this type of stuff. Every single time a recruit comes on campus who’s worth anything, they wear the all reds. This is Michael Terry, fivestar, right? He wore the all reds. Dawson Merritt wore the all reds. Okay, they love this uniform. And it does play a factor in recruits coming here despite, you know, some people thinking it doesn’t. Okay. So, if that’s what it takes to get a recruit, why not do it? Why not wear the all reds? Why not wear the all whites? So, I am definitely in favor of that from a recruiting standpoint, from a changing it up standpoint. Now, if you if I just want to give you my honest opinions on the all reds, I have a hot take. I don’t love them. Like, I I really don’t. I I’m I’m an all-white type of guy, right? I think the all-white looks a lot more clean with the white helmet. Of course, this was the alt we wore versus Northwestern in 2014. I I just love the traditional all whites we wore back in the Amir Abdullah day. We wear these all the time. We wore these versus Indiana last year. I know people call them the surrender whites cuz again our fan base is so crazy. If you wear one alternate uniform and you lose, it’s instantly cursed, right? I mean that’s what we did with the all reds. This is the first time we are wearing all red uniforms in 40 years since 1986. We we played Oklahoma. We wore the all reds. We lost that football game and after that they got banned in the shadow realm because every fan in America was like, “Oh, these these all reds are cursed. We can never wear them again.” News flash people, in the last decade, if any uniform was cursed, it would be our traditional home and away uniforms. We should start wearing blue to get rid of the curse, right? Again, these people are crazy. At the end of the day, it’s just all about having fun. Um, again, I could be wrong. I don’t love the uniforms, but I could change my mind, right? I mean, obviously, we’re doing a live stream on Saturday. I’ll be live reacting to the game for the first time. Never done that before on the channel. I we could roll out against Houston and Christian. I could love them, right? It just kind of depends on, you know, what it looks like on actual game day. But, uh, I think it’s cool that we’re at least changing things up. We’re bringing a new school program. It’s good for recruiting. It’s good for the younger fan base. Let me know your thoughts. I absolutely want to hear what you have to say down below. But again, expect all white uniforms versus Minnesota as well. So, again, pretty cool there. The all reds are back in the rotation. And expect this also, the last thing I’ll say, expect this to be a yearly thing, okay? It’s it’s not going to be, you know, we wear the all reds every single home game, right? It it’s just going to be probably once a year. So, expect the All Reds to come back next year for maybe one home game, the all-wh whites to come back for one away game. Just going to have it’s going to be in our rotation, right? We’re just going to change things up every now and then. And you know what? If let’s say the players don’t end up liking the All Reds or the fan base revol, you know, revolts and says, “Oh, we hate the All Reds, we might never wear them again.” But the the players really like them for whatever reason. The recruits really like them for whatever reason. So, for that reason, I think they will be in the rotation for a long time. So, again, I like that we’re changing things up. I like we’re being a new school program. Maybe I don’t love the concept. Um I don’t know. I just I don’t for whatever reason, in my opinion, and I’m a very traditionalist Husker fan, even though I kind of mock some people who are. I I don’t really love football uniforms that are the same color. I like different color pants, different color jerseys, unless they’re all whites or all blacks. Like when when a team, for example, they do this all the time in the NFL. Like when a team wears like blue on blue, I think it looks corny. It looks like they’re wearing pajam pants. I I don’t know why. That’s just my opinion, right? You feel free to disagree with me, right? Uh but I do like the allwhite. But anyways, that’s just my opinion, but again, I want to make this very clear. I’m very happy they’re doing this because I think it’s good for a lot of reasons. My opinion doesn’t matter.
