Happy golfing ⛳⛳

a lot of golfers that I see actually try so hard to launch the ball up they end up back here and they finish with that flat right foot bear with me guys in this video today we’re going to be talking all about weight distribution between the difference between your driver and your irons particularly when you’re teeing off now as you can see taking my shoes off for this one but they will be going back on very very soon [Music] these are the Balon smart sensors insults they are this will blow your mind because right now you can see exactly where my body weight is in my feet and that’s what we’re going to be talking about in today’s video okay so there’s a clear difference between the setup of a driver and the as you can see in terms of weight distribution I am much more lead side orientated when setting up because the kind of the main premise of hitting this shot is getting the quality of ball striking getting the angle of attack down into the golf ball with force and then rotation and I actually use a bit of a a setup feature that I do here once I take my setup here I put the ball in the center of my stance my 7 IR feet approximately shoulder width apart and I just move this lead hip over my lead foot so now you’ll notice that I get more pressure into my left side as I do so okay now there’s a big difference we’re going to cover this in the future pressure versus weight distribution pressure is more down weight distribution’s more across so I’m as I set up here I feel like I’m kind of pushing more down into my lead side and now I have more weight on my left side as I move up to the top of the back swing will always rotate slightly into this Trail side but I would majority of my weight is still on my left so again if I go 70% at setup as I get to the top it’s still 6040 but it has shifted a little bit the really really interesting part of this as well I hope this is something that you noticed and learned when I came into impact I didn’t get back to 70% I actually was at 50/50 at the moment of impact so I had pressure down my lead side but and it also rotated which when you bring this left hip away doesn’t push it over the left foot as much so if I swing up to the top of the back swing my pressure now is 60/40 in my left side as I move into my lead side it pushes down more into like 70% and as I start to then rotate it alleviates some of that pressure up through the left side because my left leg starts to extend so now my body weight is back to being more Central I hit the ball and as you probably know we finished more onto that lead side because the the trail sides up on the toe for the RO for the rotation really really important and really kind of fascinating when you see those numbers live in action you bring the driver in it’s a slightly different situation because the ball position we first of all we don’t want to hit down on the golf ball anymore we want to hit up on the ball so we actually want to stay a little bit more behind the ball and we do so naturally anyway because the ball positions further forward okay so if I put my set up now I’m going to just put my feet together clubbing behind the ball small step with the left big step with the right ball positions approximately on the inside of my lead heel my head position relative to golf ball is in the middle of my stance funnily enough just where it was when I hit my S iron as well what I do from here and we talk about this a lot in in golf lessons we have a little bit of a tilt of the shoulders now I see a lot of players in this position this is a disaster we’ve got the shoulders up to the sky which is great for launch but this right knee Trail knee becomes more flexed and everyone drops down into it and thinks right I that I’m going to launch this bad boy but there’s too much flexion into that right side so what I like to see is the club just slide under the dry under the golf ball there with the driver you just see my body just tilting ever so slightly or just feel like from a neutral position 5° clubbing behind now my shoulders are tilting up to the sky and also my lower body is pushed into my lead side a little bit as well so I’ve managed to get some separation between my shoulders and my hips make creating that natural side bending um spine tilt set up so now my body weight is a little bit more 50/50 okay and as I move way into the top of the back swing just like the 79 we shifted into the trail side a little bit in the back swing we do so in the driver but we get a little bit more weight just favoring the right side of the top so this is allowing for that nice big coiled rotation to the top of the back so and as I start to BR come back down I get my shift so my body weight neutralizes again but then as I come into impact and behind the golf ball my lower body just like with the with the iron has extended that left knee up my left hip has turned and now my body weight if anything is slightly down here but my lower body is actually over my lead side so I’ve created great rotation really nice extension up through the lead side whilst maintaining the spine tilt that I had at the start maybe even slightly increasing it so I get that high launch and then I from that position I rotate up and through the golf shot so we never when we’re always looking at keeping the spine and the head to the right side of the golf ball and all of this kind of is is helped and it started with this with the right setup position so why would look to try and get that little bit of spine tilt and when you do that try and be aware of your feet so set up 50/50 spine tilt I straight away just feel it down the inside of my right thigh so now I’ve got a little bit more weight on the inside of my right foot so I’m just ever so slightly favoring this side worst case it’s 50/50 or I’ve seen plays and I’ve done this myself still favor this left side but what we do differently to the ey in is we lower load into this Trail side we load into it we get that hip to we get that depth of rotation from the shoulders and the hips all the way up and around to the top of the back swing and then we release we unleash we pressure into the lead side and we work up and that’s how the body weight ends up back on this right foot with spine tilt and shoulder alignment pointing up to the sky so let’s give that one a [Music] try okay so what’s fascinating about the numbers here is that I still start this is my golf swing I start still ever so slightly on that lead side even though I felt like then for the even for the purpose of the video I felt like I was really on my right side so I was a touch on my left but what I did as I got to the top of the back swing about the Midway point I loaded into my trail side and as I got to the top of the back swing it evened itself out cuz as I got a little bit more shoulder turn the club traveled further my my pressure just evened itself out then into that transition as I made the transition I was more around my trail side my right leg as my left leg started to extend up nice and early and then I from here as I come into impact I’m just left side so I’ve created I’ve used that coil I’ve used that rotation I’ve created a big coil loads of power loads of extension up through that right side now I’ve got myself into a position where I’m pushing through impact I’m getting my weight just moving through the left side through impact I’m like 55% on my left side so it’s very close to 50/50 okay and I work up where the difference in the iron I was more on my left side throughout the swing neutralized it loaded it neutralized it loaded it it where driver I’m like I’m just about left side then I’m right side Central right side left side left side so there’s so much more going on there’s so much of a difference between them and a lot of that was obviously because of how we’ve set up to the golf ball how we want to hit the golf ball how we’re trying to deliver the golf club to the ball that’s so so important in this instance cuz one’s trying to hit down one’s trying to hit up and what we can what I can do obviously with the with the Ballon insults here is I can set up I can I can stand over the golf ball and just be really exatic okay that feels like 95% let’s see how that ball goes bit of trial ER and find the find the best ball fight find the best outcome okay now if you don’t have a Balon smart inso which I’m sure many of you don’t because it’s literally just come to Market check out the website obviously if you want to have a look look it if you want some more information do drop me a message in the comments below but if you don’t have one then at least you can try and start to feel in your feet the diff What happens when you start to tilt the spine away from the Target and exag don’t be don’t be afraid to exaggerate it for the purpose of practice just go go there right loaded that that side I haven’t loaded my right side by going there if anything push that that side tilt there and now I feel it down here I also feel it in here but as I get to the top I load into my right side I I stay in my right side I neutralize it and then we’re up into the follow through position a lot of golfers that I see actually try so hard to launch the ball up they end up back here and they finish with that flat right foot so what you’ve what you’ve effectively tried to do is you’ve just tried to lean back and hit it we I still want to get that movement of the lower body into the target line so into that left side turn for power extend for more power but that turn and extension with your head behind the ball creates that spine tilt that gives us that beautiful launch which obviously keeps the ball in the air for longer and sends it 250 plus 300 350 whatever whatever it is whatever your swing speed is so I hope this video is a bit of help hope you’ve just been able to see the data and video is not about saying right you need to go everyone needs to go out and buy a Balon now because that’s not the that’s not the premise of the video a lot of golfers learn differently so some will love seeing the heat map some will love seeing the numbers or maybe all of you will you all should do it’s it’s a really cool graphic but you can learn a lot more as well from the visual and the understanding of it when you’re seeing dates and numbers and obviously in this case a heat map so I hope the video has helped if you’ve got any questions at all please drop them down in the comments section below as you can see I am at an incredible location here at the lahasenda linkx resort in the south of Spain can’t film golfing England at the moment thank you to them for having me take care I’ll see you next time

  1. I like the visual feedback from the insoles not only how much pressure is on each foot but also where the pressure is focused, it’s a lot easier to understand 👍.

  2. Thanks – stupid question but when you're weight/pressure is on your right side how do you stop the driver head smashing into the ground? I can stand as tall as I can, almost even with straight legs, and the driver head just hits the ground anywhere between the ball and 2 foot behind.

  3. Love the "heat map" imagery – it really gives a lot of decent feedback; more than numbers in my opinion.
Great vlog overall though I'm a tad jealous of you being in the sunshine…
    Cheers
