Kai Trump has publicly offered her prayers following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a prominent MAGA figure who leaves behind a wife and children, during a university event in Utah. On Instagram, she reposted a White House statement containing a quote from President Donald Trump, who declared, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. God bless him.”
She included her own message stating, “Pray for Charlie.” Several hours afterward, Kai shared another heartfelt post. “I am deeply saddened to hear the news about Charlie Kirk,” she expressed.
“My heart goes out to his wife Erika and their two children. He was a close family friend and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this tragic time. Rest in peace Charlie.”
The deadly incident unfolded on Wednesday at Utah Valley University, where Kirk, who was broadcasting live when the fatal bullet struck, was delivering remarks outdoors as part of his ‘American Comeback Tour,’ a campus debate series organized by Turning Point USA.
While speaking to students, officials report he was hit in the throat by a lone gunshot fired from a neighboring structure roughly 200 yards away.
Video recordings from the gathering documented the shocking moment of the assault: Kirk staggered and fell, displaying clear evidence of trauma, as attendees responded with terror and disorder. He was immediately rushed to a medical facility, where he ultimately died from his wounds.
Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and ATF, immediately launched a comprehensive investigation. Early reports indicated a person of interest had been apprehended, though subsequent updates revealed no suspect was officially in custody. Federal and local authorities continue their intensive efforts to identify and apprehend the gunman.
The shocking incident triggered an immediate nationwide outcry and widespread condemnation. President Trump took to Truth Social to pay tribute to Kirk, calling him “a great guy from top to bottom” and urging Americans to pray for him.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” Trump posted on his social media platform.
