LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Following back-to-back team scores under par, the Wake Forest women’s golf secured its first team title of the 2025-26 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
This marks the 27th win under the direction of head coach Kim Lewellen and the Deacons’ third victory at the ANNIKA, with the last coming in 2022.
In a field that included eight of the top-14 teams in the nation, including reigning national champions Northwestern, the 13th-ranked Demon Deacons led the competition on par-four and par-five scoring. They totaled 58 birdies throughout the competition, tied for the most in the competition.
After starting the event at 6-over par, the Wake Forest battled back to turn in two consecutive rounds of seven-under to finish the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in first place at eight-under par.
Leading the Deacs was freshman Chloe Kovelesky, recording her lowest 54-hole score in her career with a 207 (-9). Claiming her second collegiate title, Kovelesky penciled in three under-par rounds of 71, 67 and 69.
The Boca Raton, Fla. native is the first individual champ at the ANNIKA since Rachel Keuhn in 2019.
With just eight bogeys over three days, Kovelesky totaled 15 across the three days and notched six birdies in her final round.
At four under par, graduate student Morgan Ketchum shot her lowest round of three and birdied four out of her five last holes of the day. The Winston-Salem native grabbed a top-10 finish in her first outing as a Deacon.
Senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen turned in three rounds of par or better to grab her first top-10 finish of the 2025-2026 season and tied for eighth place at 2-under par.
In her first outing with the Old Gold and Black, graduate student Casey Weidenfeld posted consecutive rounds at even par to finish T30. Junior Macy Pate also saw her best round of three with an even par to finish T36.
Straight on to the Stephens Cup
Wake Forest travels to Lake Bluff, Ill. for the Jackson T. Stephens Cup held at Shoreacres from Sept. 15-17. During last year’s competition, alum Carolina Chacarra shot four under to clinch the individual title.
