Dude, take it easy. Who me? I was just wondering if you’ve got a way to stay calmer in the down swing. I swear it’s the tension that I have that sends me over the top. Welcome back to 15-minute golf drills. Today we’re talking about how we can take the tension out of our transition and our down swing. Hopefully to make that whole drop and shallow move a lot easier. So, if you’re somebody that feels like you’re just working too hard into the golf ball and it’s almost strenuous and you’re starting to believe that that’s the reason that’s kicking the club over the top, these next two videos are for you. So, take a deep breath, release the tension, everything’s going to be okay. All you’re going to need for this is whatever club you choose. Today, I’ve got a seven iron. For the first part of this, we’re going to explain it through the trail side, our trail arm. One of the most common reasons that I still see people kick that club a little steep or a little out in transition is because their right pec and their right shoulder are doing too much work. That’s what we’re going to calm down today. All I want you to do is take whatever club you chose in your trail hand. We’re going to go ahead and swing this up to the top. It doesn’t really matter where you are at this point. From here, I want you to take your lead hand and place it across your trail pec. As you move down and into impact, do not let your pec or your shoulder do anything. Try to keep it as relaxed and as loose as possible. Because your lead hand is resting on your trail shoulder and pec, you’ll be able to feel if you’re overusing it or if you’re working it too much up to the top. Lead hand on trail pe. Go ahead and make a move down into impact. All while you’re moving down into impact, keep that pec, keep that shoulder as relaxed as possible. Where if I’m up here at the top and I kick this shoulder into my lead hand, I can feel my shoulder and my pec starting to work, which will move the club outwards. Leave that pec relaxed as you let your trail arm just start to drop. Pec relaxed, trail arm drops, then we spin into impact. Once you get that feeling, go ahead and put both hands on it. See if you can replicate it up to the top. Let that trail shoulder and pec stay relaxed as your hands start to drop. Take a turn into impact. I know that drill sounds really simple, but it might be just enough to get one or two of you out there to stop kicking it over the top. Make sure to like, comment, follow, share for more. Tomorrow, we’re going to show you the lead side version of that drill. [Music]

  1. Great drill like all the others but how long should you do each drill? I get bored in like 2 minutes. Want to get better and I know drills will help but what's a good time for each one. Love your videos

  2. This is the best drill for OTT I’ve seen, and I’ve pretty much seen them all on YouTube! When is the lead hand version dropping? 🙏
