There you go. The player that beat him in the forefront last year. And I just I look at Paul here. Okay, that’s the 13th time he’s been [Applause] Speaking of beauty, how about that long? [Applause] Beautiful attack. What a way to take the final point of set four. [Applause] No getting 5 years old. Final set. [Applause] 752 76 75. How hard did he have to work to get out of the second round? This should be some beautiful hug. [Applause] last man standing on this Friday morning at the 2025 US Open. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a match point like it. I know.

  1. It was one of the most exciting, hard-fought matches I’ve seen in US Open — right up there with the Altmaier vs. Tsitsipas battle (haven't seen Collignon vs. Ruud). Most matches these first days still feel pretty one-sided and get wrapped up in just a few sets. I’m Portuguese, so I’m a little biased — and hopeful — but I really think Borges has a great game, even if his recent tournaments haven’t gone his way. Hopefully this match gives him more visibility, support (especially sponsors), and fans!

  2. Best match of the tournament. Kudos to Borges for putting up a great fight! And Tommy Paul…well, he just managed to eek out the win. Borges majorly challenged Tommy and could have won this match, but Tommy moves on. Borges should be very proud of his efforts. The look of overwhelming relief on Tommy's face says it all.

  3. Excellent match by any account! This could have gone either way. Tommy had more luck! Looking forward to see young Nuno more often!

  4. That get at 4-4 15-30 in the 5th set from Paul was probably the point that saved him this match

  5. This is extremely hard when you lose a match like that to handle it like man ! Believe me the rollercoaster of emotions is tough to mnanage!
Great game from both guys,. Hope you can see more of Borges in the future

  6. I like when players who won don't scream like animals and just remain composed.
Not sure why but most player behave like little girls when they won, it's pathetic really.

  7. 1:57 – What an EPIC way to conclude this incredible battle! Congrats, Paul, on the victory, but congrats also to Borges for an incredible fight!

  8. This match DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I stayed up late to watch it all and it was worth it Evenly matched opponents I think this was the best match so far Go Tommy Paul ! Kudos to Borges!

  9. I'm really sorry but what the heck are these highlights starting in the end of the second set….
