I keep thinking or blading, I get a good shot maybe 5 out of 10. This is an old 7 iron I had in the back yard.

The swing is way too long and you’re going way past parallel. Try swinging 75% and it’ll still be at parallel for you.

Also, what would you think my handycap is? 18 birdies says I’m a 42. Had a couple really bad rounds and shot my handicap up. I generally score around 105 on a par 70 course. Miss hits kill me. Driver likes the other fairways on the right rather than the one Im playing on.

  3. Take 20 degrees of that back swing and stick it on your follow through.

  4. Little slower, less can sometimes be more. Happy Golfing!

Chicken wing at the end of the swing, and moving left foot

Along with the other comments about over-swinging, you could also work on weight transfer. You should feel like you’re loading into your right heel on the back swing and end up on your left side.

A drill I go back to when I’m struggling with this is taking my stance, then sliding my lead feet back so I’m starting with my feet together. Take the club back and then step into your swing with your left foot. You’ll feel what it’s like to get your weight moving toward the target. Hope this helps.

Get golf shoes. I promise it will help you drive into the ground with your lead foot instead of slipping backwards with your trail foot on your back swing and your lead foot on your follow through. If you are more stable it won’t force you to compensate with your arms and your swing will improve over time
