TULSA, Okla. – In a crowded leaderboard at the NSU Women’s Golf Classic, the Harding women’s golf team stands tied for the lead after carding a 15-over 299 in Monday’s opening round at the Page Belcher Golf Course. The Lady Bisons are the highest-ranked Great American Conference team in the 17-team tournament.

Harding freshman Vivian Volion made a statement in her collegiate debut, shooting an even-par 71 to tie for the individual lead. Playing as an individual, Volion’s round was highlighted by a bogey-free back nine with three birdies. She is tied with three other golfers at the top of the leaderboard.

Pilar Martinez led the scoring for the team lineup, finishing tied for 12th place with a 3-over 74. A trio of Lady Bisons—Madeleine Wilson, Sydney Kincade, and Cooper Meyer—each shot a 4-over 75 to end the day tied for 18th. Sidney Gainor rounded out the team with a 7-over 78, placing her in 34th.

The Lady Bisons showed a strong short game, holing out on four shots from off the green. Kincade’s round included a 95-yard eagle on the 18th hole, marking the third eagle of her career and making her the first Harding women’s golfer to achieve that milestone.

The second and final round of the NSU Women’s Golf Classic will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Page Belcher Golf Course.
