Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. I hope you’re having a great day and even better week. Today we’re talking about shoes. And God, I love shoes. We’ve tested over 50 different styles and pairs of shoes this year to find the best shoes in golf. We have a number of categories. We’re going to go through this very rapidly. Best value, best overall, best comfortable, all those different things. So stay tuned as we go over all the best shoes so far in 2025. So, the first topic up is value. Who gives you the best bang for your buck? There’s two shoes we really thought that were under that $130 price point that we really, really enjoyed this year. The first one is the Sketchers Elite 6. Great shoe, slip-on, uh, for those people who don’t want to tie their laces and get them on and off. Fantastic golf shoe. Kind of these hard soft spikes, which we really like. And the other one that we really like, and you’ll see this shoe again later, is the Under Arour Phantom 4. This happens to be in a navy and gray colorway. Soft spike, extremely comfortable, retails right around 129,130. Fantastic golf shoe. So, those two are the best for value for brand new golf shoes that are out in 2025. So, the next topic up is what I would call on and off the golf course. Shoes that you can wear on the golf course and also off the golf course. I would say these are also what I would call my street shoes. Three pairs that we absolutely love that do both. One is the Air Jordan 1 Low. Again, one of my favorite golf shoes. A very comfortable shoe. I know people don’t look at this shoe like it’s comfortable. It’s very comfortable. The other one is from True Lynxswear. This is the Luxe model. We’ll put all the information up as we go. Love this shoe. Super comfortable. again can be worn on and off the golf course and no one really knows the wiser. And lastly, municipal. I love this shoe. One of my favorite shoes this year for sure. Extremely comfortable, but again, made to be worn on and off the golf course. Very, you can see here, I’ve cleaned these up pretty good. Uh, can be worn, like I said, on and off the golf course. Little rubber studs, very comfortable golf shoes. So, for on and off the golf course, those are our three favorites. Now, we’re going to talk soft spikes. What are the best soft spike shoes that you guys have tested this year? Three pairs. Again, we’re not going to pick personal favorites. This guy, uh, the painter match play. Um, fantastic golf shoe. Again, very grippy spikes. Have had no slippage in this. Extremely comfortable, incredibly waterproof, very cool looking shoe. Uh, has very minuscule details, which I like. Just a little painter logo here and the painter um flag on here. Very comfortable, great golf shoes. The other one, which you guys probably haven’t even seen us review yet, is the Duka Delcosa. And I’ll put all the information up. This is a new model for them. And again, I’ll put all the information. Love the soft spikes. The shoe starts off, I’m going to be honest, it feels a little stiff when you get it. Once you break it in and wear it, it’s fantastic. So, this is another great option for soft spikes that we love. And then the True Linkswear OG 3 Pro. And I’ll tell you why I I can tell you I I will tell you why I love this shoe. It is a soft spike. This is a zero drop golf shoe. But their soft spikes are like little cleats. So these aren’t like I would say a typical soft spike shoe. These are like a hybrid of a soft spike and hard spike. But again, no slippage in this. Great shoe. Great waterproofing with these. Um, love the details where True Links wear it. So this is the other soft spike shoe that we are loving for 2025. So hard spike. What shoes do you like when it’s really sloppy out? When you really need a cleat to dig in? Three shoes that we are absolutely loving. One is is the Under Armour. You can see I still have grass in these from the last time I played with these. The Drive Pro. Fantastic shoe. Maybe the best spike system in golf. And you can see I’m trying to put pictures up or show the I’m trying to show how much these spikes stick out. Incredible shoe. Probably not a Greenskeeper’s favorite shoe. The other one we love are the Fjoy Premiere. And the reason we love this one is all the traction between the hard spikes and the soft spikes. You will not slip in this shoe whatsoever. Again, some very beautiful colorways. We absolutely love this Fjoy Premiere, but again, this happens to be the Packard, but the Premiere system we love for the other hard spike. The third one we like, which is maybe an anomaly for some of you guys, is the Sketcher Blade. Uh some very serious, it’s not replaceable, but some very serious spikes um throughout this shoe. Again, if you’re playing on crappy wet days, uh those these three are the best that we have tested to really dig in uh and not slip when golfing. Now, let’s talk comfort. Who’s the most comfortable golf shoe you can put on? So, there’s three that we’ve tested and that everyone has said, “Man, these are by far the most comfortable.” The first one, as we talked about earlier, is the Under Arour Phantom 4. Uh if you have not worn this shoe, again, soft spike version, one of the most comfortable, higher stacking heel, uh very good foam, whatever they use in here, the cushioning is fantastic. Again, an incredible price point under 130 bucks. You will not be disappointed in these. The other one that we really like, and you guys know I I gush about this shoe all the time, is the FootJoy Quantum. Uh I think the only thing that we don’t love about this shoe is just the spike system. And again, that doesn’t mean we’ve slipped a lot in these. It just means the traction I would like to see a little better and again a little better waterproofing which I think we’ll see in a later version. Um, but fantastic golf shoe. If you haven’t wore the Quantum, try it on. Fantastic. And the last one which really surprised us this year was the G4 and this is the I’m going to I wrote the model number down because it’s so crazy. It’s the MG402 G-Lock. Um, so incredible golf shoe. Again, maybe the most comfortable shoe between these three. It’s kind of a a coin toss. Um, but really really like these. We love the spiking system on here. Very good for this. Love that it’s replaceable. Very comfortable golf shoe. Waterproof. I would say the only thing that’s really lacking with G4 with these particular shoes and this particular model. Uh, the colorways. I think there’s only four or five total colorways. Um, and this white with the navy is maybe the most wearable. They have a black with pink, which is a cool look, but how many black and pink uh outfits are you going to rock? And then they have some navy ones and some other colors. But really like these. Um, so the last one for the most comfortable is the G4 MG402 G-Lock. So lastly, which is probably the most important on this list is what shoes are the best? Like what is the one shoe or the three shoes that you like the most of all the shoes you test? What are three that you would say are the best in the industry? So, there’s really again three that we’ve tested that everyone who has tested this has said the same type of comments and feedback. First one up is the painter match plate and why this is a soft spike shoe. This shoe is incredibly fantastic. Very comfortable. Again, we talked about the details of waterproofing. Love the logoing, very minimalistic. Uh, very cool. Love what Painter is doing. The sole is great. Everything about the shoe is is fantastic. So, for our first one of the best overall shoes is going to be the Painter Match Plate shoe. The next shoe up is going to be, we talked about earlier, the G4 MG402 G-Lock. Incredible golf shoe. If you have not tried this shoe, try this shoe. It is literally an incredible golf shoe. Blew our minds this year of what a great golf shoe this is. And last, which is the best overall, which really surprised me this year of all the shoes we’ve tested, is this guy, the Futjoy Hyperflex. Again, may not be a leading in any one particular category, but it does every category really good. Traction, really good, cushioning, really good. The fit on these may be the best for my particular foot, but it’s subjective. So, I don’t like to say, “Well, it fits my foot better.” I don’t know how it’s going to fit your foot, but overall, this may be the best golf shoe in the industry in 2025, but these three that we just talked about are really the best shoes that we have tested so far this year in 2025. But again, we will redo this uh list probably six or seven months down the road. Unfortunately, we we know we have new shoes coming again for this fall, but I I can’t wait forever to test this stuff. So, this is what we’ve tested so far this year that we absolutely love. And again, there are other shoes we’ve tested that we’re still in the process of testing that may not be on this list.
