[Music] [Applause] [Music] I grew up in Aken, South Carolina, born and raised. I actually grew up at Woodside Plantation where we had more of the kids and uh you know, I only got to go to Palmet every once in a while when my dad decided to take me. Later in life, came back to Aken after college and they were gracious enough to to make me a member and been there ever since 2007. It’s what I call home, what I love, and love the golf course, love the membership, love the vibe, and it’s just just right for me. I would consider myself kind of like the developer. So, I kind of helped with everything from, you know, the membership to designing the course a little bit, kind of still involved in in some of the day-to-day stuff. So, it it was a big passion project for me, obviously. So, it’s been fun to watch it kind of uh get to the point where it’s at now. I got a great relationship with both pros at the two clubs you’re going to play for your championship. Brooks Blackburn and Drew King. They they’re great guys. I’m members of both clubs and and uh they take care of me all year round cuz I’m a whiny tour player and uh so I always have to get back at him to go fold a shirt or something every once in a while. My dad was a PGA pro and kind of grew up, you know, playing in all the section stuff and I would go caddy for him. So, I mean, it’s really kind of how I grew up knowing the game and like what professional golf was. So, it’s a big deal to me. Well, it’s a obviously a historical golf course. It has stood the test of time and and you can still get around there and not shoot low numbers. It still holds up. It’s difficult around the greens. That’s the defense. You pretty much can’t lose the ball off the tea, but around the greens, you can chip and putt him back and forth all day long. So, um pretty much stay short on every hole and uh if you go over, good luck. I I think it’ll be pretty interesting. I think we’ve maybe had a couple of small little events out there, but this will be kind of the first one with a ton of really good players. Uh, pretty generous off the tea. So, you know, people will be able to get it around, I think. And it’ll really kind of depend on where they put some of these hole locations and how fast they get the greens. I think it should be pretty mint coming out of uh the summer. You know, I think they’re kind of the first ones playing it in the fall, which would be cool. Oh, man. There’s so many. I love the seventh hole. Uh, I think it’s the iconic par three that you can stretch all the way back to 180 yards. But there’s just a good mix. What I tell people all the time, the reason I love it is you get every club in the bag dirty even though it’s only 6,800 yards from tournament TE’s. So, I think that shows you what what type of golf course it is. I’m a big fan of 18 drive par4. It’s like maybe 300 from the back te is probably where they’ll play it. Um, right in front of the clubhouse. So, a lot of fun stuff happens there. Definitely stay below the hole. Maybe more so even at Fall Meadow. You know, you get above some of those those holes, you’re in for a kind of a long day. So, plenty of short grass at both places. So, just keep it below the hole and have some good putting rounds.
