Webb Simpson and our Addie Parker meet three incredibly talented First Tee alumni in Atlanta to learn more about the program’s partnership with Wells Fargo and the huge impact it’s made in their lives.
The intersection of golf and culture.
Behind every drained putt or hosel rocket into the stands is a human being with complex emotions—among them, an insatiable appetite for golf. That’s what we’re after. Golf’s humanity is what makes it so special to us. There have never been more reasons to love this game, and we’re endeavoring to explore them all.

What a day we had with PJ Tour veteran Webb Simpson, the first T of Metro Atlanta, and Wells Fargo. Best Encourse Golf Snack. Don’t judge till you try it. It does sound gross, but it tastes amazing. So, my wife makes some homemade sourdough bread, and instead instead of almond butter and jelly, okay, I go almond butter and butter. I can I can sense your judgment a little bit. No, never judgment. No judgment. We listen and we don’t love it. We’re here with our friends Wells Fargo for this first tea scramble. Look at her. Love, thank you so much for joining us today. We have you for a few holes. It’s really cool. I think Wells Fargo has seen just the uniqueness of the first TE and the chapters throughout the country and they’ve been consistent in their support of the first TE chapters and I know from experience since 2009 in Charlotte getting my first experience of the first TE chapter there in that community. I was really blessed to see the passion that not only the junior graph has had to learn this great game that has brought me so much in life, but also that Wells Fargo has continued to invest in local chapters. I mean, are you kidding me? Do we even need to hit? That is ridiculous. Anthony AJ, you just graduated from Howard. I did. The first he kind of taught you and like what are some lessons that you’re now applying to your adult life? Yeah, I mean I’m coaching back home, so I’m around a lot of kids and I just see the spark when I tell them something to change in their swing and they hit it, you know, so much better. And that just that’s for me that’s that’s what it’s all about. Hi everyone, my name is Nyla Sims. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. You are part of the first future entrepreneurs powered by Wells Fargo. How was that? Oh my goodness, it was incredible. I just felt like I was dreaming the whole time I was there. They selected three H.B.CU students and it’s basically to give them a mentor and kind of give them like a professional and personal development. So Kristen, you were a member of the first t of metro Atlanta. Talk to me about growing up in the program. When I first started playing golf, I wasn’t the best. I would shank the ball and I would top the ball and I’m like, is golf even for me? Right. So through the, you know, the mentorships of, you know, different coaches and staff, we like, you know, I’ll just stay with it. grew through the program, had an awesome community, and it’s like the best kept secret. I wish more people would be involved.

Is this the guy that gave himself sponsor exemptions into those signature events?
