[Music] Oh boy, that’s nice. Oh, here we go. Launches properly. Look at the carry. I mean, that was that was a super fly. That runs out 17 y extra. Very, very nicely. Very, very helpful. It’s over a full club less into the green, isn’t it? Welcome back to SGGT. Today, we are going to do a driver fitting with friend of SGT, Jonathan Edwards. Hi. Yeah. How are we? Uh, good. Ready to go. Tell us a bit about your driving, where you play your golf. What’s what’s the story? I play my golf down Newcastle until we moved just about a week ago. So, play up in uh in East Lotheian now. Uh driving is normally okay. Um I’m not unhappy with my driving. I generally find to stay away. I got probably I got a two-way miss really. I can do kind of a weak fade and a nasty pull. Yeah. Um but when it’s going well, I’m happy with my driver for the most part. Good. Well, we can there’s always it’s always fun to see if we can squeeze out anything anything extra, isn’t it, Jim? Absolutely. I like the golf the golf that you play. Are you playing like more social golf? Are you playing quite a lot of competitive stuff or how do you like to do it? It’s been mostly social golf. Although, because of my performance background with sport, I’d like to get a little bit more into the competitions, but just for one reason or another, I’ve ended up playing a lot of social golf, but I want to get that that competitive head on a bit more. Good. Perfect. Well, let’s see what we can squeeze out. We’ve already done an iron fitting with Jonathan. Uh, and we did a ball fitting in that. So, we’re going to use Tailormade TP5s, which we fitted for in the in the irons. You should go and check out that video. Um, let’s just get some drives on the board, get a baseline, and see what we’re working with. Okay, so Jonathan’s own driver has got a Ping G430 G430 Max, 10 12 degrees of loft. There’s a bit of draw bias waiting with this one. Uh, we’ve got it 45 and 3/4 in long. And we’ve got the Alta CB 55 stiff. Bit on my toes through that. Not the greatest strike. You did okay for balls speed. Spin climbed up a little bit. That’s just Yeah, that was part and parcel of leaving that face a touch open. Yeah. Are you more likely to see that one on the golf course or the other side? What what’s the what’s the more prominent miss? It depends on the day. Yeah, I know that feeling. Yeah, I mean it really does. I mean some days it’ll be that low right one. Other days it’ll be that one. And other days I can’t miss. Yeah. And I don’t quite know why. I wish I did. That’s why we keep coming back. Yeah. So that slightly pull but a nice strike I thought. Yeah. Straight off. It’s nice. And when you were down in Newcastle, like what type of golf courses were you playing on? Were they mainly part land or more? Partland, but I play a lot of but I would always be traveling up and playing either in five or in East Lotheian. So most of my golf will be links. Perfect. That might have we impact on on ball flight what we’re trying to achieve with this one. Definitely. Yeah. Nice. And what would you say you you like about your own drive right now? What’s good about it? that shot. I mean, for the most part, I don’t get myself into too much trouble. I normally it’s normally playable, even if it’s not on the fairway. I think it’s I feel fairly confident that it’ll be in play. Yeah. Yeah. Um so, yeah, I’ll say that. I mean, that’s that I would say is quite a high flight. So, whether that’s a ball thing cuz I wouldn’t normally play with that ball. Yeah. Um, so what would what we would always try and do on a a golf ball fitting, we fit it off irons and wedges, make sure they’re dialed in, and then fit the driver to the ball. To the ball. Okay. Um, so if we need to to just deloft it a touch due to that, then it’s it’s worthwhile having a look at, especially if we’re playing a lot of Lynx golf. If we want that slightly flatter flight back, we can we can tinker with loft. See, that’s still touch necky. Maybe just clean leaky, but it’s still kind of playable. Yeah. You’re not going to be in a world of hurt there, are you? No. 38 spin stays quite tight to the fairway. There’s certainly a bit more we can squeeze out of that. Some of the things that we look at are are going to be like efficiency. So, smash factor, this kind of fourth number along the bottom here. Smash is like a term of efficiency. And really what it means is what have you put in in club head speed and what did you get out of the other side. So you’re really pretty efficient with your delivery. You getting the correct amount of ball speed out, but ball flight can kind of move up and down a little bit. So it’s maybe a little bit of strike location, maybe a little bit of shaft there at the same time. So from a distance point, there’s maybe a more that we can squeeze, but you’re already you’re already good with what you get out of your own driver. So be interested to see where we go. Give me one more and then we’ll uh we’ll have a little look at something else. Okay. Yeah. And that’s slidy. It’s a we bit slidy. A little bit curvature in the air. 94 on that one. Yep. But still it’s still something that’s going to find a fairway. So whilst you do have that one that can go a little bit left, that can go a little bit right because the start line’s generally fairly neutral, you’ve got a little bit of left and right still to kind of play with. So yeah. Yeah. Let’s take a peek at the at the big picture here. Aaron, what’s this all look like? So like you said, efficiency as an average is actually 1.49, which and what we kind of look for is that 1.5 on the best ones. If we can average 1.48, we’re in a good place. You’re actually higher than that. Okay. So we want to keep the efficiency and we want to try and control that spin number a little bit. Yeah, that’s a high that’s a high number, is it? It’s it’s it’s a touch high. Okay, though. Like people will see 3,000 something and say, “Oh, that’s way too high.” We need spin to keep the ball in the air. Spin is spin is our friend to a point. That’s just a little bit too high. And for you, it might just be a case of controlling face angle more and that gives us more control over spin rather than putting you in a low spin shaft or something like that. Um James, where do you want to start? That’s a good Let’s see. So ball flight ball flight’s pretty neutral. Where’s strike location on the face of this one? This is quite an exciting bit when you do your computations and come up with something come up with a sparkly new driver which is going to change my life. So strikes me location is good fraction low but it’s tidy. There’s not not a huge amount you change over that. And that’s why that’s why when you’re on the golf course there’s there’s nothing overly upsetting in there when you’re on the golf course. Um tightless head straight out. Tightless head straight out. Yeah. Let’s go D4, which is left-handed standard setting just to begin with. Perfect. And shaft. Shaft. Shaft. We’re going to go something kind of pretty neutral, I think. Let’s go. Are we Acra first? Aaron, you’re going to go 250. Yep. 250 M3. So, what’s different here? What’s from what I’m playing in the in this driver? H. So, it’s first of all, it’s going to play a little bit shorter. Shorter. It’s going to play about half an inch under yours. All right. Um, we found that when you’re buying I mean, James will describe it a little bit better than I will. He describes it as the wild west. Yeah. Uh, with driver lengths, uh, and picking up off the shelf, ping is now up to what, 46? 46 in. Yeah. So, we’ve found optimal to be around about 45 to 45.25 for finding the middle and retaining as much speed as possible. Okay. How does that look compared to your Ping? I mean, very clean top, but then I can see the lines on the face. So, I think you almost feel like you’re more lining it up on the face. It looks more lofted. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. You’re not the only person to say that. And I’ve never hit a colored shaft before. Well, let’s see what it does. Let’s see what it does. Oh boy, that’s nice. Yeah, that’s a lovely fly. Nice reaction. We’ll just finish it here, boys. That’ll do. Job done. That was Well, thanks for coming. I mean, that was that was a super fly. That was good. Yeah, certainly back to that stronger flight. Spin comes down, what you call that? 1,000 revs. Yeah, pretty easily. Good start. Good start. One of one of the things that we want to do in in any kind of fitting, Jonathan, is match up a bend profile of shaft to a swing profile of golfer. So, everyone’s going to be a little bit different, but if you remove club head speed and you remove ball speed, how does the golfer load the shaft over the course of the swing? And in our world, shaft will do an awful lot left and right. It’ll do more laterally than it ever will kind of up and down. Okay? So, if I’ve got a golfer whose miss is to one side or the other, we’re playing about with how soft or how stiff the shaft is in the butt, the mid, and the tip section. And when you get shaft correct, heads are actually quite easy. You could try four or five different heads and you’ll be able to time them up properly because the shaft is then behaving itself. But if you go the other way around, if shaft is incorrect, you could try a couple of different heads and you’ll get lucky and something will win. But you’ve maybe written product off that might actually be really quite good. You’re giving it an unfair test. The middle bit’s not not been made here. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. And that was a completely different flight, wasn’t it? Yeah, that was like it was much more penetrating flight. Very nice. Good. The Acro GX, they’ve got a really good range of of shafts. They’ve got a red, a green, and a blue. Um, which is basically the 300 series, 200 series, and 100 series. M that’s basically the same as the last one. Uh red, green, and blue. So the one’s low launching, one’s mid launching, and one’s high launching. Uh this this one sits just in the middle. But again, spin is is where we need because you’re quite neutral, you don’t need loads of spin. Mhm. This will be interesting. Yeah. Give us give us another another one with this, please. I try to hit that a little bit. Mhm. I didn’t I thought that was going to swing. I thought that was going to go be right going right, but that just didn’t add a re sort of safe to itself. So ball flight came out a little bit flatter because spins come down the way. Um but like around a round a sort of length type golf course uh you know playing playing Gullen playing Archer Field that travels that just travels on going. Yeah, it’s good. SP I didn’t feel like I hit it well. Yeah. It just felt slightly smothered actually. Yeah. Wasn’t your best, but quite a good bad one. Yeah. You put your head cover back on and you walk down the fairway. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yep. And we could talk to that, couldn’t we? And does it feel quite easy to swing? Yeah. Yeah, it feels very easy to swing. Perfect. Just pinch that back every second. Right, Aaron, where we going to go? So, we got the spin where we needed to get to. Actually, we’ve kind of gone too far with the spin almost. It’s a really good flight. It’s a strong flight. I certainly think there’s a there’s an in between the two of them. Yeah. James, how would you describe this against the the Acro GX that they just hit? Quite quite a smooth feeling shaft at the same time. Um, again, it’s not particularly high launching or low launching or accord according to manufacturers. It’s actually a fairly similar profile. Just want to see if we can get the strike to maybe move slightly down the face a little bit that we sneak some of that spin back up again. Yeah, perfect. Going too far away. Easy to get the ball up in the air. Just a bit harder to control that. Yeah. One or two more first, please, Jonathan. Oh my. Yeah. Let’s see that one back. We’ll get that out of your hands. Pass back here. Me second. Think that’s me rather than the shaft. No. No. And so in in our world, it’s always this bit. Okay. So what again what we’re looking at is that butt, mid, and tip. So this shaft is is different enough compared to that one that we’re going to see something different outside. Okay. And what we see in in kind of fitness day in day out, golfers blame themselves just far far too quickly that I’m a handicap golfer. It must be me. But if this middle bit’s not quite right, you’re not going to time it up properly. Your bad shots are then going to be worse. So when you hit really pretty solid shots with that first guy and we haven’t changed head and we haven’t changed neck, when you hit pretty solid shots with that first one, all be it a touch on the on the flat side and then we change that bit and that’s not quite worked. You just can’t time that up. That’ll be the same sort of way. So, when we get middle bit right, we’re there. Okay. What we thinking, Aaron? Lovely shot. Almost. So, that that felt like a nicer shaft. Did it feel quite smooth? Yes, that definitely felt. Yeah. Good. So, Ellie LA golf, one one of the kind of one of the kind of main players is Bryson Dambo. Okay. H there’s lots and lots of different weights and profiles and flexes. Um and it’s it’s a very complete line. All all the shafts look the same. So they’re all they’re all kind of black. They’re all they’re all matte. You can get can get like sort of different colors and things. Um but they’re really good fun to go and play with and they feel very smooth to swing at the same time. Interesting. No, I tried to hit that a bit. Yep, that was a nice swing. That’s good. That was You gave that away a we bit more. I mean, what was good about that, your club speed went up a little bit, but at the same time, your ball speed went up, so your efficiency stayed where it was even when you gave it that bit more. Yeah, which we’re quite happy with that. I I would say I would say I still like the feel of that green one. Mhm. Well, I felt I mean I felt like I did. I don’t know what it cuz you thought the spin was too low, didn’t you? Oh, we can we can we can look at that. We can change that quite easily. Yeah. Yeah. It’s certainly the one you’ve timed the best. He says that was a nice hit. That was a great hit. It’s like the commentator’s curse iron. That was a beautiful golf shot. That was really nice. And if you if you saw that ball flight outside, how how would you feel? I’d be very happy. been running down the fairway. No, I like that. Yeah, that’s a that’s a really good one. We got a little bit of peak height back in there again, which is nice. We got the height back up without seeing too much spin. Okay. Oh, here we go. Now we’re talking to each other. Good. Lovely shot. Why don’t we keep this shaft and pop the Qi35 on? Let’s give a go. Try a different head. M I That was a lovely strike. That was a great shot. That was really good. Yeah. Not asking. Can’t give the club all the credit there. That was a good swing. Thank you. Okay, Aaron. Uh different head. So, Ty Qi35. This is normal core head 10 12° and we’ll keep that heavier weight back in the head link. Right, Jonathan? Okay. Initially, what do you think of the look of the head? I’d probably prefer the titlist titles maybe looks a little bit I would say bit cleaner. You’ve got that white line which is quite nice top line and you can see that sort of V. It’s not quite as as sort of clean looking as the titleist but I can still line up on that. Doesn’t doesn’t look quite as lofted. skill efficient. Could still with the spin. Yeah. How did that feel off a face? Not as nice as the other one, I would say. I I didn’t feel it was quite I was a bit towy. I didn’t feel like I swung quite as well on that. Okay. A little bit higher on the face. That’s where that feel would have came from. Again, I tried to hit that spin up. Oh no. No. Okay. Try to hit that a bit again. Do one more with that. So, Trackman likes it in terms of ball speed. It likes it in terms of that spin was a little bit higher because we just left the face a little bit more open. Um, but that’s kind of where we need to separate Trackman from the ball flight we actually see in the field. The ball flight of the tight list looked stronger. It looked better. It’s like you were more in control of that. Yeah, I felt that too. Let me just I’ll do one more if I can just No. [Music] Yep. Tus is definitely better for you so far. Lovely. Thank you. Let’s try and be Cobra now, Jonathan. So, this is the This is the Cobra DSA X. Cobra have got four drivers in the range. This is kind of like the core model. This is like for us, this will be the kind of bread and butter one. We’ve got a weight at the back and a a weight at the front so we can kind of dial spin in. Um, there’s all of the settings in the neck as well. So, there’s 33 different settings all in with the neck adapter. So, it’s a bit of a fitter’s dream. We can we can do about you can do how we like playing about. We just got this on A1 weight at the back. A1 everything neutral to start off with. And again, down behind the ball visually, how does this look to you? That’s nice. That’s nice. It’s kind of actually a mixture between the two. You’ve got a very clean face y and you can see that quite easily, but you’ve also got a top line which you didn’t have on the You’ve obviously had Cobra drivers in the past. How does this visually compare to the better? Really, I think better than what I’ve had before. Yeah. Oh, hello. That turned out nicely. Was good. That was quite nice to say. Again, there’s that solid ball flight again. Good club head speed, good ball speed. That was tightless, wasn’t it? Efficiency is there already. Yep. Almost that 220 carry again. Yeah, like that. I’m going to say it doesn’t feel quite as nice off the face as the Tylist. Mhm. Probably would be It’s not bad. It’s close. Yeah. But it’s a nice looking driver. Good. Yeah, I like that. Seems like you can talk to that flight. It’s good. Yeah, I’m a big fan of that actually. A couple more first, please. H just a couple more, please. Couple more. What’s your favorite course to play if you were if you had a last minute game tomorrow? What would your What would your golf course be? What would you choose? Do you know I I I have a special place in my heart for Sllith. It’s always Oh, really? Yeah. I really like Sith. Brilliant track. Yeah. Yeah. It’s a really good golf course. I love Sith. Yeah. I love the lakes. It’s just a nice place to go. But I mean, there’s a bunch of courses, but Silith would be right up there and it’s not one that many people would choose. No, that’s a good answer. I like that. And who’s in that fourball when you go? This driver. Um, my two boys. Uhhuh. For sure. I’m not sure. I I I don’t think I could give you an immediate answer on the fourth, but certainly my two lads. That was a great drive. We We got a little bit more out of that than we were actually due. Yeah, according to Trackman, the flight looked phenomenal. That looked like it stayed in the air for an age. Well, peak height at 80 ft. It’s kept it’s kept itself up in the air. So, we’ve had a bit of a boost at carry. Launches a touch higher, spins a touch down. That just Yeah. stays in the air. Like the end on that. It’s good swing. Yeah. I kind of feel with this shop, you can kind of go after it a little bit and you’re not going to sort of that’s one of the things that we definitely want in a product that we we all know there’ll be some holes outside that you can kind of open up a little bit more, give it a bit more well, but you don’t have every single driver like that. Sometimes you have to feather one down the fairway. Um, so having a shaft that you can kind of do both with. If you get a bit excited and give it a bit of a blast, you want it still to work, but you still want that thing that you could just talk to when it’s particularly windy or particularly tight. Well, those two last drives were really good. They’re really solid. Yeah. Yeah, it’s really solid, isn’t it? One thing that’s a little bit different with this LA golf shaft compared to the the Acra GX that we had you in to start off with, this LA is just a wee touch heavier. It’s not super super heavy, but there’s a little bit more weight in this. So, it’ be interesting to go back to the GX, but the same weight and just and just have a try. We’re not quite finished with that tight list head either, just to with the final shaft. It would be interesting just to try them again headto head. Thank you. Right, Jonathan. Let’s give this a blast here. So, this is the Acra version of that. Yes, that was a way better shaft. That felt to me. That felt better. That felt a lot better. I have to say. I mean, you’ve pretty much drawn a tracer line over the center line there. That I mean, that Well, I mean, maybe it was just a strike, but I I like the feel of that. Solid, have to say. We’re not asking for that one back. I can see why. Yeah, dead center punch helps. Good shot. Efficiency stays up. The only thing the only carries down, isn’t it? Yeah. The only thing I’d be concern is the wrong word, but the only thing I’d keep an eye on would be that peak height is the um peak height peak height of the LA was getting up into the 70s. So that’s better. Yeah. This just comes out 5560. I’d like to see it go up a little bit and I don’t want to you could get loft to go higher but then you lose a little bit of ball speed. Um we we’d almost term it as like a safety blanket. So if we have this kind of midtight ball flight and you don’t quite get a hold of one cuz we’re all we’re all handicapped golfers. You then have a little bit peak height that you can lose. Whereas if everything’s on that like flatter trajectory, if you don’t quite get it and launch and or spin drops down, ball doesn’t really have anything to grab on to to stay up in the air. Now, the golf courses that you play or the like the kind of Lexi type courses that you play, you can get away with murder because we all know you can give the golf course the ball and it can run and run, but you’re not an exclusive Lynx golf player. If if somebody offered you a game at Glenn Eagles, you’re going to go. So, if we can have something that has that like mid ball flight, just keeps it up in the air just a wee whisker longer, you then have that safety blanket if uh Yeah, just beneath. Don’t quite catch it. Yeah, I I knew you were trying to say that, James. I got halfway my words there, boys. So, the first thing for everything. Yeah, it’s tasty. Yeah, that plays 221 carrier. That was better. Here’s your pink closer. Yeah, 70 ft. They were cheating. That kind of 70 75 ft is going to be our magic number. If we can get to that, everything else without getting the spin too high, everything else takes care of itself. What does strike location look like, Aaron? Strike location on that one. There’s the heat spot. Okay. Edges into the toe. Um, that’s the LA. The LA is still that little bit better. I know. I know the the green one feels that a little bit better. In terms of of strike and and data, I would argue the spin rate, although it’s higher, I’d say that it’s just keeping the ball in the air that little easier to get to that peak height. More testing required, I think. Right, let’s keep on going around. Let’s put the Let’s put the LA back in again. In fact, have we gone? Have we gone LA with tight list? Yes, we have. Yeah. Uh LA on Cobra Head. That wasn’t so good from me, I think. Uhhuh. Spin didn’t go crazy. Not upset. That was like a a good bad one. Yeah, that was point of view. We’re not We’re not incredibly upset with that. That was a bit high up on the face. It felt okay. My time up a little better. Try make it slightly heavier. Put a put station down the face. That way it gets more spin. Yeah. Do 260 in the GT2. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Give us that back, Jonathan. Give us that back. We’ve got an idea. Thank you. That’s I like that. I’ve got an idea. That’s like I’m not going to tell you what it is. We’ve got We got Okay. Okay. I didn’t feel like I caught that. Fun. But that is a mishit. Got away with absolute murder cuz the la because the launch is nice and high. We cheat a little bit here. Yeah. Aaron, can you show us that screen? So that one there, we’ll call a speed of speed. There’s a there’s a bad one. You’ve not quite got a hold of it. No. If we’re on the golf course and we’re playing partners, I’m definitely going to tell you a good shot. You know you’ve missed it and we both know you’ve missed it. But this is this is this is where it comes good. So because the launch angle is then high enough, but the spin rate is then on the sort of lower side, you can get away with these things. So on Trackman with all these different metrics, if you think about them as levers to pull and push, if you give off on one, you can take away on another one. So ball speed was ball speed was really quite poor, but because it launched so high and didn’t actually spin that much, you don’t need to have loads of ball speed to actually get that ball out there. Uh, perfect. It’s good. I mean I mean for ball speed and those distances. Yeah. 132.9 shouldn’t get 240. No, shouldn’t know. technology. Technology and going back into this Acra, Jonathan, how does this feel? I mean, I have to say I like the Acra, but it’s funny that look strike location. I don’t know whe it’s cuz it’s green. Sticks out a bit more. Looks cool. I just tried to hit that. H That’s okay. We’ll delete that. So, the good thing, what’s great with the tight list product is that most manufacturers will go in 1.5 increments with their lofts, which is normal. Like, that’s that’s a good thing. Tight list go in onederee increments. So, when they’ve got a 10 degree, they’ve got an 11 degree. We’re going to go into the 11, keep everything else exactly the same, and just see if we can get that launch and spin up a little bit. Does it sneak it up in the air? Again, when we’re talking about sneak sort of sneaking up in the air a little bit, it’s more it’s more that low spin thing that you could be prone to sometimes just cuz you strike it a we a little bit higher up the face. It can come out with a wee bit less spin. And if that launch comes down, you’ll get that flat thing that will chase and chase, but we want to kind of keep its chin up a little bit at the same time. Give you give you a bit of wiggle room. Okay, let’s give this a couple of those. [Music] Yep. Very nice. Fast. Go on. Yes. Look at this. 224 carry goes up. PK 65. Yeah, that’s now the low one. Yeah, that’s now that’s going to be the low one now. 65. I love that. That felt like I just Yeah, that was perfect. Yes. How’s that feel? I That felt really nice. Ball speed’s fast. Launches properly. Look at the carry. The carry jumps up. Yep. Strong. Again, if we look at that levers chart, the optimizer again, it’s nothing. who’s not nothing but not everything is perfectly in the middle, but launch is high, spin is low. So that’s exactly what James was alluding to. That was you beat optimizer, you beat Trackman there by seven yards. Really? Yeah. Signs up for 10 in a round. Thought who would have thought I spent all morning shanking? Okay. Character building, Jonathan. Character building. Oh, what was that? We seen the distance in lights there. Club head speed went up to smash that. Yeah. So fa face control got away got away from me a little bit on that. Yeah. But if you look at that from a numbers point of view there as well, you know car like carry is good, total is good. Face has just been a bit okay. Beautiful shot. Same sort of thing. If you had that shot outside, what are you what are you thinking? Oh, I’m I’m absolutely ecstatic with that. Yeah, you don’t need a trackman to tell you that’s a good drive. Really good. Yeah, we’re on to something here, Aaron. We are on to something. Unveiled. Is is is is your work done? It’s getting close. It’s getting close. It’s getting close. We’re getting close. As James going, here we go. Exactly. Is that what is that? Is that the moment? That’s the sign. This is the end. Yep. That’s just got away from me a little bit. Yeah. Uh when the speed goes up, we do lose a little bit of face control. Again, the the ball fight itself, it’s found it’s found a fairway. It’s gone two It’s gone the guts of 250 yards. We’re not getting upset at that. What is the swing weight of that? Let’s have a we peek and see. Thank you. What are you thinking? Thinking maybe just a depending on what it is, fraction light. Yeah. 8.5. You got a red one in it. Yep. So, Jonathan, what we’ve done here is I mean at SGT we’ve got a few strings we can pull on. I’ve just taken we’ve just taken a little bit of weight out of the head. Okay. Just to make it that little bit lighter. I just want to see if we’ve got a little bit more efficiency and release. If we don’t, we can go back. It’s a good thing we can rule out if if anything. Okay. Justin launch went up the way launch went up the way launch went up in that bit high tack got a little bit gone for miles though that’s really good that was good fun spin was up a touch but I mean again you hit a bit more down on that one so we needed spin to go up um 2958 is still right in the middle of your your kind of what would you call that recipe. So there. So you what the spin needed actually went up at the same time. That was good. That was actually perfect. Okay, that’s probably gone a bit high though. That didn’t feel very penetrating. Definitely going to have noticed that ball climbing a little bit. That climbed that. Yeah, it tells a I mean the Trackman struggled there as well. So it tells a different story that back cuz that was a good that felt like a good swing. Yeah, it was. Um, but by taking a little bit of weight out there, we’ve actually changed attack angle. Oh, really? So, so we’ve changed the dynamics of the swing. So, it’s come a little bit more a little bit steeper. Yeah, I’ve seen it. So, that’s remarkable, isn’t it? The way the way that we can that we talk about it, swing swing weight is really important. Yes. So, swing weight is really important because it’s going to give feel. Um, if swing weight is too heavy, the golfer will get to top of the swing. they can really feel where the head is. But when you go to initiate the down swing, if it’s too heavy, the golfer can’t control it. All of a sudden, the club’s hauling the golfer around and then it can start going sideways. And if swing weight goes the other way, if swing weight is then too light, you get to the top of the swing and you just lack a little bit of awareness of what’s going on. So when you go to kind of I call it pull the chain or initiate the down swing, there isn’t anything there to pull on. So the porridge can’t be too cold, the porridge can’t be too hot. It has to be just the right thing. So this is this is what we’re looking at when we’re changing weight. Mhm. It’s not even a Goldilocks reference. That’s just food. Well, I know. That’s a pull. Speeds back up. However, I mean, I know you’ve pulled that, but it’s it’s not dreadful. Not at all. We’ve not got spin again, so I’m not I’m not not hugely convinced by the distance, but as a flight, solid. Still playable, isn’t it? Still playable. Still very playable. Again, we we we reference it all the way back to like what are you looking to try and do in the first place? Where do you play the majority of your golf? So, you’re playing more likes golf courses. It’s okay for it to come down the way. We just don’t want it to really really down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If if this was a driver fitting for your place in Florida, this would be a very different conversation. Yeah. That drive there launches high, spins low. We can talk to that all day long, can’t we, Voice? See, that didn’t feel like a great strike to me. That didn’t feel like a great strike. No, it didn’t. No, it’s interesting. Do you want to see your optimizer? That will do nicely. Okay. GT2 11°. Yeah. Yeah. This is the one. This is the one. Okay. I do that. But again, I’m kind of glad you did that. That’s not your best swing. It’s right hand side of the fairway, isn’t it? So, there’s more more club head speed, more ball speed. It’s come out it’s come out a little bit flat. But again, because we because it launches high enough initially, you’ve then got room for that peak height to come down the way. Yeah. So, again, we all we all know there’s there’s one you’ve not quite got a hold of, but we’re not getting upset at that at all. Right. I can’t finish on that one, can I? No. Give us one more. Give us one more. You could have played the LA golf when we’ve got something that feels as good as this felt and the feedback we had from this was was better than anything by far. Yeah. Um we want to try and make that work as as much as possible. They’re solid. That’s really good. Nice shape. That one might spin up a little bit more, but that is a flight that on a a golf course plays everywhere. And you know what? I was actually surprised at the spin. That’s phenomenal actually for Yes, cuz I I thought that was going to be higher spin up and just like die. Here we go. That’s fascinating. That’s that’s been amazing. I mean, and that’s a big change from where we started. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. So, we go into go into some numbers, go into some data. Your ping, your G430 Max. Um, like we said at the start, the the efficiency is actually very very good and we’ve not changed the efficiency at all. We have managed with a shorter shaft to get your club head speed up. Uh there’s a little bit more trust in there. I imagine you’ve just kind of got a little bit more a little bit more ability to go after it. I think you said that yourself. So efficiency stays up. So what that means is your ball speed is instantly higher. 3 mph extra. Peak height is goes from 73 to 66. So not a huge amount of change, but um the spin rate goes down 1,00. Now you could argue that is a little bit low that two 2,300 but going there’s still two in there at 10 degrees going into the 11 degree head miles better much much better pe went up and that’s where the variance comes from but your overall carry and your overall distance 9 yard almost 9 yards extra carry and then that runs out 17 yards extra that will do very helpful nicely very very helpful it’s over a full club less into the green isn’t it yeah I mean that that makes that makes a massive And for the courses you’re playing, having that stronger flight straight off the bat. I mean, what was interesting in playing around with all those different shafts, feeling how I could swing some and not others, and I, you know, I immediately said, “Oh, that was me.” And you said, “No, it wasn’t you.” You’d be surprised how little your swing changes throughout. Really? Yeah. Certainly the movements, the shaft will do different things and it’ll make you do it slightly different things. Yeah. But it’s Yeah. Shaft’s hugely poor. Yeah. Really good. But that’s remarkable. Very good. Really? Thank you. Very good hitting. Uh thank you for coming in. So thank you for having me. It’s been absolute pleasure. Yeah, it’s been really fantastic. Yeah, it was um Yeah, it felt really good and I felt like I swung better than I did with the iron fist. No, you’re doing yourself an injustice there. It was good. It was good. But if you want to come in and get your driver fitting, head to the website and book your session at sgt.co.uk. Uh and like and subscribe for more great content. Thank you for watching. See you in the next one. [Music]
