I noticed that despite all the marketing hype, most of the best players in the world are sticking to a surprisingly small group of drivers in 2025. I broke down which models are actually winning tournaments (and why) in a quick blog post. If you’re thinking about upgrading your driver this season, it might be worth a look: http://wwwgolf.sport.blog/2025/09/08/what-drivers-are-the-best-players-using-in-2025-inside-the-gear-powering-tour-wins/

Still rocking the R11 from day one. Still banging 280. No need to go anywhere
I’ve changed driver 3 times in 3 yr, always with the latest, flashiest driver.. until i met a used Cobra LTDx. It’s now my driver for eternity!
Ping G430 Max with a Ventus Black TR 7-X shaft. I love it.
My gamer is a Cobra LTDx, but sometimes I bust out the Nike DYMO2 because it’s awesome and sounds like a gunshot on the tee box.
Callaway epic flash sub zero with a hzrdus smoke 6.5 70g shaft. Carrying 285+ with used drivers has been my jam my whole life.
TS3. It’s fine for what it is.
2013 Titleist 913D2
2024 Callaway ST Max Rogue — Stiff shaft.
I got it a few months ago. I like it a lot! It’s a big upgrade from my older older driver
Qi10. I got rid of my Darkspeed and bought a store model Qi10 at 200$ off original price. I love it and my carry is about 20yds further.
I was rocking a SIM2 Max before that, and it had huge ball speed, but off center hits were poo.
Ping G10 from 2008….
R9
Ai Smoke Max
Callaway Epic LS 9° turned down to an 8°
TaylorMade M4
Just got a Ping G430 Max 10k and it’s a major improvement over my TM M4
Titleist 917 d3 with Fujikura speeder pro tour stiff 74
Original taylormade sim
Nike Sasquatch
Upgraded from a SIM MAX to a QI10 core this summer.
Not a notable improvement, but subtly better off-center. Lower spin for sure, I had to turn up the loft one notch (which is good for me) to keep the ball from knuckling and diving out of the air when I hit the upper part of the face.
Right now Sim2 max, to he determined if it makes it thru the year may replace the head but I’ll keep my shaft the same.
Got a good deal (I hope lol $85) on a Wilson Staff D9, stock as it came off the shelf, regular flex that I really enjoy. Very forgiving, and while I don’t have the adjustments of other drivers, I’m still happy with it since I’m a beginner and just need something that can go straight once in awhile lol
Callaway Elyte
Callaway AI smoke and I absolutely love it. Was a big upgrade from my ‘Edge’ package set.
Tried the Ping and the Titleist and found this one suited me the best
Just switched from a G400 to a G430 Max
2006 Callaway x460. Still does the job
Been playing 15 mo, started w/Callaway Rogue. Increased backswing (& f/thru too) started getting more distance. Figured WTH have a THING for PING so stepped up to a new 430 Max. It cranks, consistently 250+ now along with an older Ping 3W I used to not be able to hit – have had it carry 270 now. My PING THING is working.
Titleist GT3 8° turned down to 7.25°, Graphite Design Tour AD VF 6X.
Tour Edge C522
Titleist TSi2. And 910 for backup
Titleist TSR3 with a Graphite Design Tour AD HD shaft…Tried the new GT2 as well as the GT3…Hit my TSR3 better than either of them using the same shaft…For me, nothing is better than Titleist drivers when it comes to look and feel.
Black TM R1 with ObanKiyoshi. Have not tried anything to kick it out of my bag.
