This is a 7 month update of the Vokey RAW wedge finish. The main reason tour pros like these are reduced glare and because there is no extra finish on them you get a little more spin because the grooves have more volume.
If you’re not aware, PGA Tour players are always playing almost always playing raw wedges. Um, and at first you really can’t tell the the difference, but after 7 months of usage, here is what a raw wedge looks like. And here is what to chrome looks like. So to chrome has a finish on it that makes it not uh rust or weather over time. And my understanding is the reason that tour pros are using raw wedges is not only because of the reduced reflection, reduced glare in sunlight, which I can confirm. Um, there is certainly reduced glare on these, but these wedges don’t have the same finish on. And because it doesn’t have the same finish on, there’s slightly more surface area um on these raw wedges to get you more spin. So, more ball on the face here. Um, I think for the average player, this really isn’t going to make a difference. For a tour pro, um, who is hitting it basically perfectly every single time, um, it can make a difference, but it’s kind of crazy. This is a clean wedge. These are both cleaned and, uh, that’s that’s what they looked like. It’s just, uh, pretty big difference. So, over time, the to chromes and these I had stamped by Vokei. Um, the to chromes look better, but the functionality of these, I do feel like you get a little bit more spin out of them. And then there’s certainly the reduced glare that helps.

Sorry, raw wedges don't spin more. This has been tested at nauseum with both people and robots. . It's mainly for glare and some have a preference for it from looks.
Also, they will wear out and spin less FASTER because of the lack of finish on them.
