Consistent quality golf from Erin Sadi doing the chasing Lagran from the right position here lost a bit of ground today. Only player in the top 25 over par for this round but to tie the lead which he’s had for most of the day. He can do it. That is a round of 63 and a young Spaniard from Marba. I would say this one will be a little bit extra cautious up the right wing. It’s not a shot from welcome. Get back to the action now though with Tapio Pulan in second at 15. [Applause] Slightly worse odds from here for Mroy. That’s the world number two though. Never anywhere else. Last little revolution taking it in and thrilling the crowds. Lovely angle for Yokim. Don’t mean to fly this all the way. But he has and it’s going to give himself a lovely look at his birdie. Good example there of why soft conditions are so favorable for players of this standard again. Daniel Dart coming out of the rough there. Doesn’t make any difference. We made we have seen a second. What a sensational day from Garia Heredia. He’s got it round in five under parking with the world number two in front of the home crowd. Others would have wilted. He certainly hasn’t. Not to be. It’s a rock solid day. Gazia Heredia actually bests Rory Maroy. Maroy four 68 from Northern Ireland. It’s a stellar round of golf. 68 to add to 67 and 66. 15 under.

Rory McIlroy heads the field, with the World Number Two chasing a second Irish Open title after his victory at The K Club in 2016 and returns to the event for the first time as a career Grand Slam winner following his triumph at the Masters Tournament. Fellow Major Champions and winners of this event Shane Lowry and Pádraig Harrington also tee it up, as does a third Amgen amabassador in Séamus Power. They are not the only major champions that are in the field, as Franceso Molinari, Danny Willett, and Brooks Koepka among others. Rounding out the field’s big names is Luke Donald who is looking to get in a good week before taking on the challenge of captaining Team Europe ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup.
