GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The University of Kentucky women’s golf program begins a new season this week, competing at the fourth annual Folds of Honor Collegiate at the Jack Nicklaus-designed American Dunes Golf Club – the church Jack built – in Grand Haven, Michigan, Monday through Wednesday.

The event will be broadcast live on Golf Channel each day from 9:30 a.m. ET to 12:30 p.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. ET to 7:30 p.m. ET. It is the team’s second of two tournaments in the regular season that will appear on TV.

The Wildcats will tee off in the first round Monday beginning at 8:15 a.m. ET off the 10th tee. They’re paired with Texas A&M and Michigan State.

The first lineup of the season features four sophomores and one junior, including sophomore Karlie Campbell, junior Cathryn Brown, sophomore Anastasia Hekkonen, sophomore C.A. Carter and sophomore Raleygh Simpson.

While it’s a young group, the fivesome are all returners with lineup experience.

Campbell and Brown return as the leading scorers, with Campbell hauling in a 73.9 scoring average as a freshman last season – the 23rd-best scoring average all-time in program history – and Brown adding a 73.3 scoring average in 2024-25 – the 22nd-best scoring average all-time in program history.

They each are coming off a strong spring, with Campbell earning one finish inside the top five and Brown bringing in two finishes inside the top five, and an even better summer, with Campbell qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Amateur and Brown winning the Kentucky Women’s Amateur.

Overall as a team in 2024-25, the team – led by then-senior Marta López Echevarría – assembled a 291.37 scoring average, which marked the fifth best all-time in program history.

Third in the lineup this week, Hekkonen, a Helsinki, Finland, native, is another one coming off a flourishing summer, collecting four wins across the pond. Before that, she earned a 74.3 scoring average as a rookie last season, while 13 of her 18 rounds contributed to the team total.

Carter, a hometown highlight out of Lexington Christian Academy, competed in two fall tournaments and two spring tournament a season ago. Her best output came at the Mason Rudolph Championship last September, when the then-freshman went 71, 72 and 76 for a 219 (+3).

Simpson will appear in just her third lineup when she takes the tee box Monday, the fewest of the returners. She tallied a 74.6 scoring average through six rounds last season, contributing five rounds toward the team total.

Kentucky is one of 12 schools competing at the Folda of Honor Collegiate, which also includes Arizona (2024 Folds of Honor Collegiate Champions), Baylor, Delaware State, Findlay (non-Division I via winning the 2024 Folds of Honor Challenge), Florida State (co-host), Kansas, Michigan State (co-host), Navy, North Carolina, Ohio State and Texas A&M.

Ten of the 12 schools competed at either the 2025 NCAA Division I or II Golf Regionals or advanced to the NCAA Championship.
