LOUDON, Tenn. – North Florida men’s golf started its season campaign for a second consecutive season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee on Friday afternoon.

Laurens Schulze-Doering led the way for the Ospreys in the opening round, as he joined Jean-Philippe Parr in making their UNF debuts. Luke Balaskiewicz made his collegiate debut as a true freshman in the first tournament of the year.

ROUND REFLECTIONS


Schulze-Doering held a top-two position through 12 holes with a 2-under score, but finished his UNF debut scoring 1-over 71.
The graduate transfer finished eighth in par-three average score with a mark of 1-under (2.75) in the first round.
Balaskiewicz caught fire late in his collegiate debut with four birdies on the back nine to card 2-over 72.
The freshman shares second in par-five average score at 2-under (4.00) and eighth in par-four average score at 2-under (3.83).
Danny Erickson leads the tourney field in par-three average score with a 2-under (2.50) mark finishing the day at 5-over 75.
Chase Carroll joined Erickson on the leaderboard with a 5-over 75 score with six straight pars to finish the first round.
Parr rounded out the season opener for the Ospreys with a strong performance over his final 13 holes.
Filippo Serra recorded a 4-over 74 opening round with four birdies as an unattached individual.
He is also among the top of the field in par-five scoring average with a 2-under (4.00) mark.
