WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hartford Women’s Golf team looks to build on the 2024 season, with a mix of experience and new faces to help contribute to competition in both the Conference of New England and NCAA Tournament.

The Hawks will welcome four freshmen to the program, as they look to extend the roster from a year ago, with newfound competition. Head Coach Pete Stankavich said ”
Additional Experience:
Hartford will bring back six returners in 2025, as they hope this experience will allow them to make a splash in CNE play. Amongst these returners is graduate student Tessa Susco (Plainville, Conn.) who played in 18 rounds last year with a 99.8 scoring average.
“As upperclassmen, it is important to lead by example. Not only in how we compete and train, but also in how we handle adversity. The standard is excellence and that starts with accountability.” said Susco.
Additionally the Hawks welcome back senior Julia Smith (Plainville, Conn.) who played in 15 total rounds last year, with a scoring average of 94.3.
“We are excited to officially be eligible for both conference and NCAA play. This tournament will push us harder, the goal is to qualify and win, and that is what we will do. It is very exciting to have an end of the year conference.” Smith said.
Returning as well for Hartford is junior Charlee Nagle (Cheshire, Conn.) who made appearances in every tournament for the Hawks, ending the year with a 97.2 scoring average.
“I’m really excited that we’re hosting four home events this season! Having the opportunity to compete on courses we know well definitely gives us an advantage. It also creates a great environment within the team. Having all the girls there adds a fun, competitive energy that pushes everyone to keep working hard.” Nagle said.
Another key returner for Hartford is junior Abigail Crabtree (Bellport, N.Y.) who played in all 18 rounds for the Hawks a year ago, finishing with a scoring average of 100.5

Season Outlook:
The Hawks will kick their season off at home as they host the University of Hartford Women’s Invitational at Keney Park on Saturday, Sep. 6 in Windsor, Conn. This will be one of four tournaments hosted by the Hawks for the fall season. They will also host some key tournaments such as the Battle at Bull’s Bridge on Oct. 7th, as well as the Conference of New England Championship on Oct. 11.
