Yoendrys Gómez made his fifth start (17th appearance) in 2025, second (eighth) on the road this season, second career start against the Minnesota Twins and third career (fourth appearance) against an American League Central opponent. He went 5.0 IP with 7 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Mike Vasil, Brandon Eisert, Grant Taylor and Jordan Leasure all came in for relief. Grant Taylor picked up the win and Jordan Leasure recorded the save.

In the top of the second, Edgar Quero homered on a fly ball to left field, his 5th of the 2025 season.

The Good Guys came from behind for the lead! In the 9th inning, Brooks Baldwin singled on a fly ball to right fielder James Outman to score Korey Lee. Michael A. Taylor doubled to left fielder Austin Martin, driving in Andrew Benintendi and Brooks Baldwin to take the lead, 4-3.

The weather has officially arrived in the twin cities. It’s shaping up to be a nice cool night at the ballpark. Twins meet the White Sox for the third of four this week at Target field. The White Sox two wins away here in Minnesota from doing something they’ve not done against the Twins since 2016. And that’s sweep here in Minneapolis, Debbie Matthews perk here for game three last time out against the Padres. I think considering the opponent , I would say that’s his best start of the season. Six innings, two earned runs in that game, no walks and three strikeouts and no walks notable. His last two starts before that start against the Padres, three walks and four walks. Kyle Thiel’s got the short sleeves on and he is ready to go as we start this ball game and he jammed him, Lewis back pedaling and catching is out. Number 11 down. Here’s so, so to right center making the adjustment and tracks it down. So a couple quick outs to start this ball game and the rookie Colson Montgomery steps in and the pitch going to miss, he struck him out right on cue and the inning is over, bleed by him at 98 MPH. 123 inning for Matthew Andries Gomez on for his fifth start, er , a, a touch over five and the command hasn’t been great. He’s got to cut down on the walks. If he does that, his stuff plays in the major leagues. It’s usually pretty good. Here’s Byron Buxton, he’s been on a season long tear, good start for Gomez gets the swing and a miss this pitch, nobody’s going to hit in this league or any other league, four straight multi hit games for Trevor nick nine for his last 14. Nick to left center and shallow and that will land between three Chicago defense. He’ll take it. He’s 10 for his last 15. And the twins have a man aboard for Luke Kesha nick move again. He does and the 3 to 2 pitch to left field, that’s a base hit that’s going to land and scoop and that’s going to find the wall. And with nick on the move, he will score. It’s a luke Khaw double and the twins have a 10 lead when you put him in motion to hopefully stay out of a double play, be aggressive. And because he was running, he’s able to score all the way from first being aggressive on the bases trying to take those extra bases when you can and against the White Sox outfield that doesn’t throw the ball. Well, they’ve run on Betten all series long and that will bring up Matt Warner line to right and past my draw to right and Key Shaw will be held. Now the ball bobbled in right. And with that, key Shaw will score 201 10 off the bat from matt Walner. And originally Tommy Watkins stopped Key Shaw but Then Baldwin bobbled it in. Right. Key Shaw picked it up and scored easily and the twins have two in here in the opening inning. So two zip twins got a man on first with one out popped up short will make the grab and there’s out. Number two, here’s brooks lead Gomez steps off. Runner goes and a nice job picking up the runner as the Twins will run themselves out of this first inning. Edgar Carroll leads off the second against Matthews two nothing twins, Carro down the line to left field. This ball is carrying and it hits the foul home run for edgar Caro. That ball just continued to fly here in Minnesota as the rookie hits his fifth home run of the season to get the Sox on the board. Edgar Carro showing pop the opposite direction nicely done. Yeah, they just showed a replay that ball hit the top of the camera now has 19 hits in his last 18 games. So a walk and the White Sox have two on down by one. So me now at second Baldwin at first and here’s former twin Michael A Taylor slider strikes out Taylor second strike out for Matthews and two down here in the White Sox second. Here’s where you have to handle your business with the number nine hitter and not flip this thing around to the top of the order grounded back to underhand flip and there is out number three, White Sox score one, they lead two a big chance here for the twins. Danny. I don’t think the way these two teams are currently constructed. You’re not going to win a lot of games with just two runs. Twins need to add on. So it will be austin Martín with the bases loaded and two outs. Jeffers at third Lewis at second. Julian at first on the ground. Montgomery gets the force at second and your injuries, Gomez works himself out of a bases loaded jam to keep this a one run ball game. Mathews is now retired eight straight sox just with two hits tonight off the starters, Mathews two down for kyle line to left sending austin Martín back Martín will make the full sprint running away from the infield, full extension. Hung on to it. Survived the collision with the wall and the tumble to the ground. Good athlete there in left field , a stretch, a catch a tumble hung on and Sebi love of the effort from the mouth. Byron Buxton leads off here bottom half of the fifth inning in the year to right and Deep Beckett goes and that is in play off the wall. Baldwin stopped running and Buxton on his way to third base and he has his second triple in this series. Brooks Baldwin gave up on that ball and it landed on the warning track. That’s a visiting player not knowing the ballpark infield in and now ground ball to the right side runner. Third stays put as my drops throw, retires lorn for out number one on that little slow roller could have possibly scored with his speed. So, you know, he’s going to be going on contact now, pay off the keys coming home and a nice job by Gomez alertly with the flip as they get Buxton at the plate. This is exactly what you wanted and excuse me, swinging a little tapper back to the pitcher and this is a contact play for Buxton. So he’s running when the contact occurred, but still can’t beat the play at the plate. So the White Sox trying to dodge a bullet here. There he goes. Walner pops it up right side of the infield mirth calls for it and he makes a catch. Well, you asked for it and he got out of it after the leadoff , triple some great defense and pitching to get it done. Matthews is throwing very well, completely different than he did in Chicago. So still at first two outs in the inning, Brooks Lee will drift out, make the play and Matthews after a leadoff single retired the next three in order handshake for Matthews as his night appears to be over back to back six inning performances. Just one run allowed. Struck out. Five walk two. Rice has had a good night, two for 22 singles. He stole the base earlier. Any to the outfield twins likely will challenge all three outfield arms, all three arms below average. Let’s see it right now. Base hit left field. Ryan Jeffers has the green light from tommy Watkins and no throw from Benintendi. And sure enough it is a base hit. Lewis is three for three. Jeffers is in 31 twins, solid contact on a breaking ball backed up a little bit into Royce Lewis’s bat hard hit through the hole. Benet was in that gap so he had a long way to go, but I think they’re sending him either way. Jeffers scores easily. Vassal walks Martín and now he’s got to deal with Buxton. Two on wins have added to their lead. It’s 3 to 1 swinging him is strike three. So Vassal gets out of the jam but the Sox have some work to do after six twins lead 3 1/9 inning Cody Thunder beg has a chance for his second save this season. Third of his career. And Montgomery key batter in a two run game is out number one two on for the White Sox one out ninth inning. They trailed three, one time runs are on and the go ahead run will be me. And here comes Rocco Baldelli and he’s going to give the ball to Justin Topa to try to finish the job. And now the go ahead run is coming up and Curtis me is right. Justin Topa hoping to get a ground ball to end this game struck him out 91 and some cut two down and the sox down to their final out of the night. So it’s left up to brooks Baldwin broken bat flare to right and it’s going to drop. Here comes corey Lee, he’s going to score the throw, cut off and the Sox trail by one here in the ninth as brooks Baldwin extends this game with two outs. Pete Mackey, the pitching coach out to talk with Topa Taylor is going to take the at bat. 02. Baldwin will take off. Yeah, that was open the whole time. They weren’t going to throw through and now a base hit not only scores the tying run scores , the go ahead run 2nd and 3rd 2 outs here this top of the ninth inning, 22 to Taylor drills it down the line. Is it fair? Yes. Betten scores. Here comes Baldwin Mikele Taylor. Let’s go. The Sox take their first lead here in the ninth inning and this crowd is absolutely stunned. This one right down the line. It’s a hanging cutter. It stays in the middle of the plate and this one motion fair by Adam Beck. That ball was absolutely smoked. Jordan Leisure coming out for the 58th time. He’s got a one run lead and he’s got to deal with the top of the order. Smoke to left field. There’s an extra base hit for Byron Buxton. He’ll make second base easily and just like that, the tying run is on, on the second extra base hit tonight three balls and two strikes. The pitch is down and in ball four nice take good at bat from Trevor. The first two twins reaching in the ninth. Corey Lee wants to have a conversation and here comes pitching coach Ethan Katz driven in left field Benet. He went back now coming in and he makes up for the first out here in the home half of the ninth fly ball on the left Bennet Teni making his way there and the Sox are now one out away from wrapping up a huge come from behind win. Jeffers is three for four and now Jordan Leisure trying to hold on with two outs in the ninth on the ground. It is mead at third his throw to first. What a come from behind win the first time. The sox trailing after eight innings. They get the win this season. 4 to 3 here in Minnesota. How about that? 143 sox, three big ones in the nine

  1. As I said yesterday, with all the grief and pain the Twins caused the Sox and their fans in recent years, it is a pleasure to see the Sox kick the Twins' collective asses.

3:07 — The only time I have ever seen a play like that was at a summer collegiate league game.

4:56 — Now you have to admit that has got to be one of the top 10 catches of the year. Maybe #1?

It's good to see Michael A. Taylor get the clutch winning hit. I'm not sure what the Sox expected to get out of him this year. He is only hitting .205 after hitting just .193 with Pittsburgh last year. He did hit .254 with the Royals in 2022, but his BA has been on the downward trend coming into this season.

Am I right in saying this is the first time the Sox won with a 9th inning rally since 2023? When was their last four game sweep?

  2. Baldwin could be the worst outfielder the Sox have had in a long time. And there has been a lot of bad!🤢

  3. We get some good pitching and we're gonna be contenders! I'm SO PROUD of this team, these guys. THEY NEVER GIVE UP and they seem to find a way to win which is fantastic! I love being a White Sox fan! In good times and bad.
