Just an hour and 14 and we’re not far away from another breakup. to make sure it didn’t collide with any of the furniture that time. 14 15 That was Iron Mike sitting out there. just couldn’t quite get the right elevation that time we’ve seen or won at least Oh, that’s so good for the end of that sort of exchange. Oh, well played points of the match. So on we go. [Applause] What solids from Taylor Fritz this time. And still we continue. too good. Holds his nerve. Saves three set points along the way. Oh, that is very very special. He enjoyed that one 15. That’s a good way to get the crowd involved. A nice pass just right at the feet. There’s Sabalanka going through in straits eventually. These two have produced some real quality inside Arthur Stadium. So a few fans heading for the Oh, beautiful. heading for the exit. Not the case here though. Still tennis to be enjoyed. [Applause] Okay. What a volley. Just under three hours on court. Fritz with match point. Taylor Fritz is back in the last 16 at the US Open. That was a serious test and he’s passed it with flying colors. had to work extremely hard to get past the Swiss qualifier, but he marches on and he’ll be back Sunday into the second week. The 2025 US Open runs from August 18 – September 7 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.   1. The level of tennis for a thrid round match is incredible. Jerome Kym is a name we will continue to hear in the future. Taylor Fritz deserves the no.4 ranking. That was outstanding.

  2. I wonder what string weight both players are using. Probably in the low 40s if not less. The sound of the ball coming off their racket is very subtle. Same as Adrian Marino’s

  3. Fritz isn’t the brightest tactician. There’s simply no reason he should have yielded a set to Kim, as solid and capable a player as he is. Fritz typically like all too many American players hits the ball right back to his opponent when in a compromised position and he comes to grief for it, especially in the matches that count with the Top 2. It’s really frustrating how much energy he wastes with his lack of tactical thinking in the moment. He may long be in the top ten but he will never, ever break past Alcaraz and Sinner. And I’m a fan of Taylor’s.
