okay everybody let’s welcome Taylor G from Smash GC welcome Taylor you are the clubhouse leader alongside Peter Yuan and Sergio Garcia you shot five under today tell us a little bit about your round yeah I I I hit the ball really well today uh you know was fortunate to make a couple putts coming down the stretch I actually missed a few putts in the middle of the round I I could have really got it going but hey when you shoot you know under par at this course you’re you’re never going to complain so it was a good day do you think the mustache has anything to do with it it has everything to do with it so I’m going to ask the obvious question you’re out here playing against a field with 13 guys that are heading to Augusta next week and you’re currently leading them all do you think this makes another statement for you to the powers that be about how Live players should be qualifying to get into Majors um you know I’m going to keep doing what I did last year even though it didn’t work uh I’m going to keep trying to shoot you know good scores rule 67 worked today and I’m going to keep trying to shoot as many 6 sens as I can and uh eventually all that will take care of itself there’s nothing that I can do to um you know Influence People unfortunately so good golf is all I can control so I’m going to keep focusing on that so you’re currently leading in Miami this would be your first win on us soil how are you feeling after today and heading into these next two days yeah it’s a good start to the week I mean like I said this golf course is a monster and um you know if you can get off to a good start like this it just puts you in a good position the next couple days and uh it’d be nice to get the first first trophy here in the state so hopefully we can have a a good day tomorrow and then see if we uh can go get it done Sunday and tell me a little bit about your time on Smash GC this year have you been enjoying the the new community that you’re in right now with Brooks and Graham and Jason yeah it’s it’s it’s been what I’ve been hoping for you know being around Brooks and obviously you know GMAC and and Jay I mean it’s it’s a a good bunch of of dudes and a good bunch of players and we’ve all played well you know we’ve we’ve only connected on that one week in Vegas uh but we we’ve got some Firepower and again it’s just it’s cool to be around you know a couple major Champions and and then you know obviously uh Jason is an incredible player so it’s it’s been great we all get along well and we push each other and we hold each other accountable so it’s been it’s been awesome and last question for me you got your sweet newborn baby out here this week is first time baby’s watching you play does it add a little extra something special in your mind when you’re out there yeah I mean it’s it’s you know my newborn son this first tournament out you know on the road with me it’s it’s special it’s fun and and having the whole family here obviously it’s it’s special and um yeah I mean it’s it’s something that you know I don’t know if I necessarily dreamed about but after you know having the first the first one uh cins I was like man it’s going to be wild having you know this second one out for the first time too so it’s again it’s it’s such a blessing and it’s it’s awesome to be able to bring them along awesome we off to a h hot start I’m going to go ahead and kick it over to Mike T Taylor it’s a April last year where you really hit your your hot stretch you won in a Australia do you feel like it’s almost like happening again this year to a certain degree I hopefully uh you know I was talking with my coach uh Boyd uh the last few days when he was out here you know we noted the same thing that you know uh I played well you know starting this time last year and um you know we kind of you know didn’t play great uh hit it great the first couple tournaments of the season um so we had to put you know that extra work in and and today was kind of the first round where I felt like like I got my ball striking kind of back you know like I said I I um I missed a a a handful of good opportunities today to to really get it going so um this this felt a little reminiscent of some of those you know deep rounds I had last year around this time of year so hopefully uh we can catch some of that fire that we had this this time last year and get it going and also can you talk about the chip in on the awkward stance that was that was sick yeah that’s there’s you don’t practice that uh you’re kind of sitting there kind of hoping like to make par and then it happens to go in it that that’s one of those when that happens it’s like okay this this could be a good day and this you know things hopefully can you know continue to go my way so it was it was a good one we stole one there and then uh one last question Jane kind of touched on it so is it about maximizing the mustache or minimizing the beard like how how did you approach
