The Real Cause of Bad Ball Striking 🤯 #golf #golfswing

Brady couldn’t compress his irons. He couldn’t get that ball turf contact and get that lowest part of the swing after the golf ball. And the reason was is because his club face was open. So you can see he’s over rotating the club face at the first part of the move away. And then by the time he gets to the top of the back swing, that leading edge is pointing down at the ground. So what we wanted to do for Grady was give him a focus on the club face. And this kind of changed everything for him. So the feeling was to get the club face pointing more at the ground in the first part of the takeaway and then by the time he got to the top of the back swing it would be pointing the club face to the sky. And the reality was he wasn’t getting the club face pointing at the ground but it was definitely a lot squarer. This leading edge was running a lot closer to his spine angle. And by the time he got to the top of the back swing again that leading edge was running a lot closer to that lead forearm. So, if you’re struggling with getting compression, make sure you look at that club face first. So, what Grady went through was step four of pure your iron. So, if you want to compress your irons, comment pure down below, and we’ll show you exactly how you’re going to do [Music]

Our student Grady couldn’t create compression because his club-face was too open throughout his golf swing. The face is crucial to be able to creat compression at impact. Once fixed, his swing sequence improved instantly. This is a common root cause — check yours!

  1. I haven`t compressed the golf ball for a year. On the Simulator I noticed my arms were exactly like Gradys in his swing. I've taken your advice on board and will give it a serious practise

  2. Your wrong, he can't close the face if it's not open, his problem was he was hanging back and spinning, now he will pull every shot, you dead wrong

  3. Maybe it’s a camera angles, but he looks like he’s over the top. He also looks like he’s flipping at the ball and he also looks like he’s not moving his hips and weight. I suppose you picked the most egregious thing to work on which is a smart thing to do.

  4. completely wrong… toe down takeaway is incorrect… you'll spin.slice the ball all over the place… until you come over the top then duck hook it
