Rasmus Højgaard has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young stars in world golf. Born in 2001 and sharing the fairways and the spotlight with his identical twin brother Nicolai, Rasmus has been making headlines ever since the pair led Denmark to a historic victory at the 2018 World Amateur Team Championship, lifting the Eisenhower Trophy. The brothers have continued to carve their own paths in the professional game, often pushing each other to greater heights on the global stage.
Rasmus’ professional career took off in record-breaking fashion. After securing his DP World Tour card at Qualifying School Final Stage in 2019, he became one of the youngest players to graduate from Q-School. Just months later, he stormed to victory at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in only his fifth start, becoming the third-youngest winner in DP World Tour history at 18 years and 271 days old.
Since then, Højgaard has built an impressive international résumé. His biggest moment to date came at the 2024 Amgen Irish Open, where he held off Rory McIlroy down the stretch to claim his fifth DP World Tour title at Royal County Down. That victory capped off a career-best season in which he finished runner-up on the Race to Dubai Rankings.
This earned the Dane dual membership on the PGA TOUR for 2025, just a year after missing out on qualification by the narrowest of margins. With over $2.2 million already banked in official money on the PGA TOUR, he’s wasted no time making his presence felt in America.
Now, Rasmus is set to take his next big step on golf’s grandest stage. Following in Nicolai’s footsteps, he will represent Team Europe in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
