HARRIS, Mich. – The South Dakota State men’s golf team opened the season with a 10th place finish at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Monday.

The Jacks posted an 853 ( -11) team score over three rounds at Sage Run Golf Club. West Virginia finished at the top of the team leaderboard with an 809 (-55) final tally.

Tyler Seeling paced the Jackrabbit squad as the senior finished in 11th place. He ended the weekend at -10 for 36 holes, including an NCAA-record 60 (-12) for his second lap on Sunday afternoon.

Ty Adkins also finished under par. The junior transfer carded a 214 (-2) final tally to finished in a tie for 40th place. Bryson Mercier tied for 58th place (218, +2), Jacob Wilson tied for 66th (220, +4) and Parker Brock tied for 70th (221, +5).

Jake Olson and Drew Teeter led SDSU’s individual competitors. The duo tied for 47th with matching even-par scorecards. Caleb Kern and Jack Randall tied for 70th (221, +5) and Hayden Scott was 80th (223, +7).

WVU’s Ryan Leach won individual medalist honors with a 199 (-17).

NOTES

Tyler Seeling broke his own program record of 65, which he recorded at the Summit League Championships last season. He shared that previous record with Geoff Mead (2007), David Smith (2010), Grand Smith (2015), Jacob Otta (2019) Ty Kretz (2023) and Bryson Mercier (2025). He is the 21st college men’s golfer to card a 60.
