BEACHWOOD, Ohio — In addition to enjoying a day on the links, golfers will have the opportunity to support the well-being of first responders and veterans by participating in the Fourth Annual Veterans & First Responders Foundation (VFR) Golf Outing, to be held Sept. 15 at Canterbury Golf Club, 22000 S. Woodland Road in Beachwood.
The outing honors law enforcement, fire, EMS, military, dispatchers, and K-9s. Proceeds fund mental health programs; scholarships for children of first responders; lifesaving equipment, such as thermal imaging devices; and medical care for retired K-9s.
More than just a golf outing, the event features a number of highlights not normally seen on and around a golf course. These highlights include a patriotic vehicle display, nearly 30 police K-9 responders, ladder trucks, military and SWAT vehicles, and a display of 40 first responder vehicles. Every golf cart will fly an American flag.
This year’s theme is “Year of the Chiefs,” and will have golfers paired with a local police or fire chief.
The spectacular start to the outing includes six skydivers landing on the course at 9:40 a.m.
The shotgun start is at 10 a.m.
Donation for a four-player team is $1,000. Included are green and driving range fees, golf carts, registration, breakfast & coffee, lunch & cocktails, and an exclusive 2025 VFR golfers gift bag.
An awards ceremony is held at the event’s conclusion.
VFR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting those who protect the public.
