This is Jason Kidd, one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. 10-time all-star, first ballot hall of famer, and NBA champion. Series is 3-2 now. 3-2. Series is 3-2. What was it like playing against uh Michael Jordan? The best on the hardwood. He’s played against all the greats, but can he get it done on the golf course? Today, we’re going to be attempting one of the most difficult golf challenges on all of YouTube while exploring one of the best basketball minds on the planet. We’ll be playing from the front TE’s and we’ll need a perfect 13 birdies and five eagles in order to break 50 and card that 49. That’s what break 50 is all about right there. Oh man, that was incredible. Season 2 has been a blast so far. So sit back, grab some popcorn, and watch me as I lose my mind trying to hit a stupid little ball into a tiny little hole with one of the best coaches in the entire NBA. [Music] Everything good? Awesome, man. Thank you for doing this. No, thank you for having me. This is going to be fun. I I give you the ball, you shoot it. Perfect. Sounds good. It’s funny. I played uh I played seventh grade was the last time I was actually competitive in basketball. So, that was a long time ago, but I still got a shot. Still got a shot. Modesto. Yes. Produces athletes. It It does surprisingly. You’re an athlete. I appreciate it. We’re going to have some fun today. It’s going to be tough. That’s all right. We like tough. No, we haven’t done it with a single person. You You do like tough. You like tough scenarios. Being a Hall of Famer and such. I can I can handle tough. I I’ve had a tough season. I’ve had So golf is even tougher. So I’m I’m excited. I’m with the best though, so it can’t be that tough. I love it. Let’s have some fun. All right, BD, how we feeling? I feel really good. Golf swing’s in a good place. What’s the number you’re looking for? I’m sorry to interrupt. No, you’re you’re goodach. I just want to ask a question. So, all right. So, my 7 iron normally is around 146 to 48 ball speed. So, I’m warming up, getting there. Spin rate will normally be around 6,000 for a 7 iron, which is normal normally what it is. That’s fine on the spin axis. That will should fly around 210 to 215. Okay, I’m going 7 iron 215. Let me get to 145 real quick. 46. There we go. All right, now I’m getting there. So, so you know, you can actually tell when it’s 146 without even looking. It’s the kind of the same thing as shooting a free throw compared to a three-pointer. You know how much to give it. Yes. Right. It’s the same sort of like It’s just a feel, right? Like, yep. Four. Oh, no. I think they’ll be okay. I think this wasn’t too far there. It’s going to be really important today for that club to be dialed. This 3-wood. Yeah, I know. You know me and this 3-wood, though. Got a good relationship so far. He actually hits it closer than his wedges. I’m going take that as a compliment or a disc, but it goes closer. Can I just look at that number? Yeah. 87. Just chipping it right now. Under competition will be over 190 ball speed. The carry was 330. It’s far. I got it. So, the question I I think you said it and maybe I’m messing this up. Tension in the handle like Okay. What do you want to know? I I want Can you explain that to me? Should I wait for the golf course? I would Let’s Let’s talk about it after the round. How about I don’t want to mess you up in what you’re doing right now. Trust me, you’re not going to mess me up. What I’ll say, okay, what I’ll say personally for me is I grip it pretty tight and then subconsciously before I hit it, my grip, and that’s with every long driver, every golfer, they actually loosen their hands a little bit to not have the force of the ground jar their hand. Now, what you feel like, yeah, I’m gripping it tight the whole way through, right? But subconsciously, as you get down here, the club kind of like lets go and then then you regrip it after. But don’t think about that. That’s going to mess everyone’s golf swing out. First, club goes fine. Okay, we got your favorite today. Uh-oh. Did something special? Okay. Just for you. Well, I tried another flavor recently. The mango tango. Oh god. Did you like it more? I liked it more. Oh no. That’s okay though. All we have is Miami Vice. You know what’s funny? I brought one though. So I brought a mango tango which I’ve tried and I really like it. It’s only got 100 milligrams. But you guys brought my favorite Miami. This thing got me hooked. It’s got me hooked. Jason, this right here is the secret to getting to 330. It’s getting you bucked up. I’m ready. Let’s get bucked up. Did you bring enough for me? Oh, we brought we brought plug in there. Look at that. Okay. Perfect. Perfect. Get messed up today. Just Just so let’s get this out of the way. Oh my gosh. I got you some gear. All right. My goodness. I brought him a can and he brings me some gear. What am I doing? Yes. I feel so good. You got me bucked up. We got you Mavs gear. Oh my gosh. That’s amazing. Thank you so much. That is sick. Well, coach, thanks for having uh me out here at Trinity Forest. You’re a member here, right? I’m a member here. Yes. No, thank you for having me. This is This is fun. You’re great. I can’t wait. I just watching you on the range is incredible. Well, I I watched you as a a kid growing up playing basketball and my brother is a humongous fan of yours. He’s a giant fan. So, it’s actually an honor for me to be able to film with you. So, this is this is what it’s all about. This will be fun. I get to watch the best do it. A lot of rain yesterday in Dallas. There was a lot. But that’s going to be good for the golf balls out here cuz normally this golf course plays pretty firm. This just Yeah, it just runs. So yeah, I think it’s three wood. Let’s see. This is the best part about it. You just go into it blind. It’s I have no idea. That’s the flag just off to the right that you see. Okay. Sticking up over that bunker. 309 seems right. I don’t know if it’s driver or 3-wood. Dude, 3-wood’s around 295. It’s probably freewood. Okay. My job is to free you up. So that’s that’s my whole thought process. You’re going to do that all day today. All day. All day, baby. All right, let’s do it. Oh, beautiful. Freed me up like a charm. That’s sick. Good drive. Thanks. That’s a T partner. No, thank you, Par. Thank you. All right. Since he freed me up, my job is to get you the ball so you can score. Now that that probably went 275, 280 at least. I love your confidence. I’m gonna take it 275. I won’t be greedy. Okay, perfect. I’mma smoke one here. Oh, be good. Be great. Literally, just be perfect. Yes. Okay. I mean, that was a great incredible parts. I’ll take it. 305. All right. On to the green. That’s the best part. I hope you you’re not afraid. That’s what that’s the beauty of I think great athletes, they’re not afraid. They see something new, they’re going to embrace it and take like Yeah. Yeah. That’s cool. I always remember Ricky Fowler. This is a good little point, too. Ricky Fowler played in the Southern uh Southern California High School Championships, and I remember a story about him, how he just fe he was fearless. Everything he did, he was always fearless. And that really stuck with me because I’m like, man, if he’s fearless, why am I not being fearless in a lot of situations? Why can’t I just go ahead and attack it and learn from it? Yeah. Yeah. And be okay with failure. That was like my biggest thing that I learned from that comment and when I was struggling in high school, whatnot, it was more about how do I just be okay with with failure and how do I iterate off of that? How do I get better off of that? Right. But people are afraid to fail. So afraid to fail. And that’s the number one thing. If you can fail, but fail fast. Yes. Fail fast and learn learn how to improve from that. We we had a bike, right? So you ride a bike and fall down. What’s the next thing you got? You got to get right back up. Hey Bryson, nice wide shot. Yeah, that was that was really good. That was great. You said earlier his threewood cos closer than his. You know, I I’m telling you, we might not see a wedge shot get this close today. Stop, Chase. You’re about to be fired. I’ve been I’ve been walking that line for years. Oh, I know that. Well, this is going to be a hot start if we can knock this one in here. Okay, knock it in parts. Yes, sir. Do it. Do it. Do it. Oh my gosh. I thought you made that partner. Well, me too. Holy crap. I tried. Sorry. That was a Dude, that was a great roll. I was trying to get my stuff out of the uh way early. All right. 21 feet. 25 ft. Roll it in parts. Do it. Do it. Let’s go. There’s no way. Same thing. Are you kidding me? Oh my gosh. Good roll. All right. Good birdie. Good birdie. Well, that’s a two putt birdie chase. Close to starting off with an eagle. That’s still We’re on track. Let’s get ahead of the game this time. I was trying. I was trying. You dude, you had a great vibe. So good. I was told that’s as a coach told me I got to free up my best players. So that’s right. There you go. That’s that’s all I’m here to do. Free you up. Got an early hot question for you. Okay. 2011. Yes. Beat LeBron, the super the super team. Great year. It was an amazing year, right? What was that emotion? What was that feeling like when you beat him? Well, it was uh incredible when we beat them because they were the favorite and uh to be able to beat them. We didn’t know how to celebrate really cuz no one had won a championship. So, and here’s the thing about the the that game six in Miami when we won. We didn’t know how to celebrate, but we didn’t want to stop playing cuz you know when you’re playing good like we we wanted to keep playing. There was no one else to play. You know, when you dream about it, you see other players celebrating uh championship and you actually do it. It’s just surreal. Like when you when you win the win uh US Open, you get the trophy, you’re like, I’ve been dreaming about this entire life. Right. The one that you won recently was so cool. When you go back out to the bunker. Yeah, I did that. That was fun. I I I was like, wait, there was more pressure when you did it the first time. That’s right. But you But but when you when you hit that shot, it’s the visual, you know, being able to visualize it. I’ll tell you all about that if you want to know. Yeah, I I would love to know. I’m here. I’m here to learn. Quick question. Am I going at the bunker? Uh, that’s green side. Yeah. Okay. Right. You see that flag there on the left? That’s not the hole. No. Oh, it’s not. No, no, no. The hole is where this big tree is. Okay. Is that Is that fair to say? Yeah, that’s exactly. Okay. So, I’ll just go a little right at that. Yeah. Beautiful. Great ball. This guy’s a baller, baby. Let’s go. Hey, that away. Thank you. Good job, coach. I think the camera intimidated me. Hello. Should be pretty delivery. Yeah, I think that’s solid. He He He gave us the touchdown. Yeah, perfect. Great ballpoint. What was your guys’ mindset in that locker room for like the 2011 championship, which is all the narratives of underdogs, the the underdog? Um, the one thing that happened in that in that game, game one, we thought we felt we should have won. Game two, we’re down 15 and the the scene is set where DWade and LeBron do the shadow boxing against each other and it kind of pissed us off and we go out of that timeout saying we ain’t going to lose to this guys doing this bottle, you know, bottle, they were shadow boxing each other. They were showboating a little bit. We came out went on a run one game two and then that’s when everybody started to believe that we can win the championship. Great drive park. A thank you. 10 104 104 flag. Okay, this is this is a big moment actually. This is huge. Just we could just see if you can put this wedge inside. Okay. I mean, you’re just done. Get up there. Be good. Run out perfect. I can’t see. Sit. Sit. Too much. Oh, just a little long. Oh my goodness. Wow. bounce pretty firm. Yeah. Okay. So, 95 yard shot. So, this is just a 10:00. Little 55 here, Chase. Oh, is that short? It landed soft. Really? Oh, crap. That’s not good. All right. Well, put all right. I think it’s pretty straight overall. Let’s try pretty straight. Pretty straight. Yep. Yeah. Quick. Is it? Yeah. Fast. Fast. Okay. Get right. Get right. Get right. Oh, yeah. Just a little. No, it didn’t actually. So, you started You started yours about there. So, I feel like it’s not going to break that much. I don’t think it breaks that much. No. 31 ft place. I think 20 ft. Come on. Show me some magic, Bryson. Oh, that breaks hard, right? Oh, that’s a bad read, Bryson. That’s my fault, guys. No. Darn. Yeah. Shoot. All right. Knock that one in, partner. Yeah. Nice. Dude, that’s my fault. You gave me It’s all good. We’re going to make one. All right. Let’s make a hole in one. Good. How many hole in ones have you had? So, I have only had one hole in one. One. Me? Me, too. There you go. One. It was unbelievable. I didn’t see it go in. It was over the hump. And so someone goes, “I think that went in.” I go, “You can see it.” I go, they go, “No, let’s go run and see.” And it went in. And uh I thought I was ready to quit golf. 126. So, this is actually where the challenge gets really difficult. Okay. It’s the uh par 3s. 126. You got to We have to make birdie here. Okay. Off the left a little bit. Can we throw it past it? Yeah, it’s a little bit brighter. Okay. Okay. This is where it starts to scare me, Jason. Okay. All right. If it’s scaring you, then it’s going to scare me, too. [Music] Ah. Get left. All right. Stay. All right. Let’s see what I can do here. It’s 126. Play a little pass. Spin it back. Dunk it. Oh, dang it. Just a little left there. Got to knock that one in. Let’s go. Let’s roll it in. You know me. I was gave you a good wedge shot. Oh, darn it, Chase. We’ll make this 12. We got to make this. Got to knock this one in. Yeah, it’s definitely going left off the bat. I’d say like right center, right edge. Okay. Pretty neutral on pace, right? A little down grain. A little down. Okay. So, right. You like the right side? Yep. Okay. [Music] Oh, too far to the right. Pretty straight. All right. Come on, Bryson. See some magic here. Roll this in parts. [Music] Bingo. Bingo was his name. Oh, baby. Let’s go. Boom. I’ll get it. Save your steps. Let’s go, baby. Great. Thanks. That’s incredible. Great job, pars. Way to keep us alive. That was huge there. We’re okay. We just got to make some eagles now. Okay, then the par three is the toughest. So, that felt like a big win. Oh, that was a It’s like winning game two, baby, in 2011. That’s right. That big. Not that big, but it was still big. So, when that happens, Caddy, you like you come off you you’re kind of energized. I I usually use the momentum in a positive way, but early on when or let’s say if it’s still get into the lead and you got five holes to go, you know, that’s where you I’ve got to suppress my emotions and go just status quo, baby. Let’s get the job done. Okay. more of that sort of approach compared to uh there’s people that just get in over their their skis and they I can’t do it. Um and learning Yeah, learning that process was a long long process actually. It wasn’t easy. Like I played a lot of tournaments as a kid and I failed a lot of times. I lost a lot of tournaments. I had to lead and you have to go through those emotions and learn how to be inside your own bubble like be inside your own fail. You had to fail because if you were just you killing everyone as a youth and like never had that experience doesn’t work. You would tougher. Yeah. You would fail at the highest level, right? Yeah. That that’s what Chase was just saying. Like when I hit my wedge shot close finally, it’s so much of a sweeter feeling, right? Cuz you know, you I’ve failed so much. You You’ve lost so much. You’ve lost all your tournaments. You You can’t You’re just tired of getting back up and trying to go after it again. But then when you do it, when you accomplish it, you get over that hump, man. How sweet that is. It’s There’s no better It’s goosebumps like Yeah. All right, guys. This is a bucked up drivable par4, baby. Let’s get after it. Let’s do it. I like it. Come on. I’m going to try to run one up there. Let’s turn on the fan a little bit downwind. It’ll help and and dry out the front so we can get a little little hop and skip up there. There we go. There we go. I think with your flight you should be perfect running up there. Okay. Oh no. Get left four. It’ll be fine. We were trying to get it up there. That’s all right. I didn’t let my teammate down. Come on. You didn’t have enough bucked up. That was I I’m going to have to have buck up on the next one. So, it’s 297. It is a little downwind. I’ve got to put some more spin on this. So, it’s actually kind of a finesse shot for me. I’m going to throw this up in the air. Did he say finessed? Oh, be good. Come on, baby. Be good. Oh. No gosh. Stay there. Oh, that was so good, too, man. I thought I hit that close. That looked like a better wet one of my wet shots. Incredible. Yeah. If it was a wet shot, I would have missed the green. Oh, getting bucked up. I love like when you said finesse, I’m like finesse 297 like and so I was That’s your long drive helped me, right? Cuz cuz I I knew what the max is and I could dial it in off of that. So, so that’s why I asked, is that a trigger word? Right. It kind of is. I go cuz sometimes as a as a coach or a player, you have a trigger word to get the person back into groove. And it’s funny, I don’t even think about that. I just do it subconsciously. Yeah. It’s just your routine. It’s part of like, okay, this time I need to do this in this scenario, you know? All right, let’s focus up. We got to make this. This is huge. Once it starts to move left, is that when it picks up speed or Yeah, it is. Okay, let’s make it. Knock it in uphill. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. That was pretty good line, too, man. That was really good. I didn’t hit it. Oh, go. That is still slow. Crap. Oh, that was right on the line, too, partner. That was right there. I’m knocking in parts. Break pattern. All right. Thanks. Birdie there. I had to focus up on that. That was a big breaker. Actually, that’s a birdie. Could have been eagle, but uh happy with a birdie there. We We’re going to get the eagles. Yeah. Question. On the way down, when you look, you’re using when you say this an inch out. So, this is a parallel shaft. So, it’s the same all the way up and down. So I can use this as a straight line to line my putter up or line that ball up, excuse me. So when I’m lining it up, I go like that. Y and I put the edge of it on it and I just see like a a shooter sight. Yes. And so I just see exactly where it’s starting. Okay. Par five, baby. We’ve got to make eagle here. An eagle here will put us right back where we need to be. That’s right. Amen. I’m going to pump a drive 400 100 yards in. How about that? 500 yard par five might be the first time on break 50. Oh, you think so? I think so. Oh, we’re doing a lot of first. It’s okay. I’m not afraid to walk through the fire, baby. Let’s Let’s walk through it. No, that’s not walking through it. It’s okay. It’s fairway still. Sometimes you just got to crawl through the fire before you can walk. We’re going to have to crawl. I ain’t crawling. Oh, is that good? Uh, right. Really? Yeah. I mean, that’s in the right center of that trough. You thought he caught the bunker potentially. Oh, really? I mean, that was in the air for 15 seconds. Towed it a bit, but it’ll do. Oh, it’s in the bunker. No way. Yeah. Oh, crap. I actually like this for you. Really? Dead straight. Pretty good lie. 51. Thank you, coach. I’m going to let you go first here. Yes, sir. I’m going to try to free you up. That’s my motto. Please do, my man. Oh, no. Go, go, go, go. Little fat. Little fat. That’s okay. You’re in the fairway there. Not a problem. Be good. Sit soft. Was it over? Yep. Really? Wow. All right. Life goes on. Yes, it does. The worst part of my game, by the way, is my wedging. And so, I challenge myself all the time on these on these things with my worst part of my game because I want to to get better first off, and second off, I want to test myself. I want to see how how awful I actually am. Where do you like this? What do you uh This is going left. What do you guys think? Yeah. Is this a Is this one of these hard? Is it going to snap again? No, not too much. I like right where you had it. Yeah, I like that, too. [Music] Sit down. Sit. All right. See what I got. This is into the grain pretty good, too. Yeah, cuz which is kind of interesting. You’re kidding. Oh, wow. Oh, these greens are soft. That thing stopped so fast. Yeah, this is going to be outside the hole. It is. It’s going to be exactly where he has his line pretty much right there. That away. Good birdie. Hey, great job. Thank you. Good birdie. Thank you. Oh man, come on. We got to get some eagles. Yep. Birdie there is not too bad though in that hole. No par first was Look at you Chase being nice. Stop it. I don’t like it. Then how I really feel is that was embarrassing. Yeah, there you go. We’re we’re two par fives in and we have zero eagles. Yep. Thank you. That’s what I want to feel. Time to go on a run before halftime. Free up my partner. Free up my partner. That’s the thought process. Free up my partner. Free up my teammate so he can let it fly. Nope. It left. Nope. Face open there just a little bit. Think should be okay. So, I’m gonna go right in that gap. Oh, this is fivewood. Hello. Little right. Get left. That’s got to be right on it. That’ll be close. Great ball parts. I I mean, I think it was It was within 10 15 yards of my line. You You can hit great shots. Thank you. That was close. The the funny thing though is like the environment, right? Like just think about the chip shot. You thought it was going to kind of release, but it checked up and like it’s part of the environment. It’s part of those are the variables that we don’t always know. No, no, it’s just like you just going through it like I had a good shot, but it just checked up on you. Exactly. Nothing you can really do besides be more prepared next time. Like go play the golf course before and get normal, get used to it. Yeah. But also just like now you got to step up and make the putt. It’s on to the next. It’s more of the the mindset of on to the next. That’s what separates the Yeah. Yep. the great from the good. Yep. And it’s funny, you know, I developed it really early on. Like I’d get super mad, but I had to realize, okay, I got to execute the next shot. Much like the Tigers sameness in a sense of growing up, he would always talk about how he got really mad. Y and he gave himself like 10 to 15 seconds to just get as mad as he wanted to. And then after that, okay, on to the next. It’s over. On to the next. You know, is it going to run up that way? Now it’s going to run up left and then it goes right at the end. So like starting here. Start it there. Just just a little left. Okay. Ah, pretty straight. All right. Come on. Get Get right. Get right. It never went right. Oh, that’s my fault. No. No. I got to hit it harder. I got to be firm. You know the deal. Got to page the doctor here. Oh my gosh. How’d that go so far left? Did you see that? Yeah. Great weight. Wow. Great weight. Oh, no. It didn’t break. No, I pushed it. I pushed it. All right. I pushed that. Good putt, Ray. Way to pick me up. Yeah. Thanks, partner. Good job. Darn it. That was a bad chip. I wanted to make that one. That’s what I think though in my head all the time. I’m always like, make me you get how how did I not get that closer? How did I not do better? I don’t know. I’m a weirdo. No, it’s not that’s not a weirdo. That’s just wanting to be better. Yeah, I agree. Right. Like those are the ones who who move the needle. That’s right. There’s that balance though of life after as well. Yes. Like how do you live life while being that high pressure, high pursuant person to be your best? Well, there’s that balance. There is a balance, right? And but also that comes from your circle, right? Your friends and family. These guys don’t help. That’s what it’s both. Life is We only get one of these. Yep. This is a reachable I think again. Par four. Is it right over the bunker? Number seven. Yeah. Yeah. It’s just right over. All right. Come on. I I’m due to help my partner. I got to free him up. He’s He’s been in a stress zone. Cut in there. Oh, catch it. Cut in there. That’s fine. Good right there. Nice. So 280. Yeah, it’s going to play 295. So just a good one of these. Good little threewood here. Be right. Home run. Be right. Be the one. Touchdown. Is it? Yes, he got touchdown. Let’s roll. Here we go. Great. You You can’t look at me and and tell me you think he’s athletic after seeing that. No, I was trying to be like an idiot. He’s He’s really athletic. Who is your favorite player to play with during your career? Oh, good question. Um, I got to go with Dirk cuz he made the game so easy as a teammate. Tell me why. Well, he he wasn’t afraid. He wasn’t a He He’s a true competitor. Could score, wanted to win, and so it was so fun to be around and worked his his tail off, like he was always in the gym, and so I enjoyed playing with He made the game easy. Gotcha. And I knew he was going to be there when things were were a little tight. Kenyan Martin and and Richard Jefferson when I played for the Nets was was was also uh guys I I enjoyed. Can I just say that’s an incredible shot? Yeah. As I’m backing up getting out of the no-go zone. This is why we love the 3-wood. Chase, the 3-wood is is really close. Yeah. Have you se have you have you seen hit a wedge yet like this? The wedge is going to be closer. I believe it today. But that 3-wood, that finesse 3-wood is incredible, dude. I almost think this is dead straight. Okay. All right. Down or flat? A little down. A little down, but nothing crazy. Okay. Go, go, go. It almost went right. I think he got on top of that on the right side of the crown there. You got to be firm early if you’re on that on that spine. Oh, it goes left. Wow. Wow. I don’t have much explanation on that there, coach. No, that was a weird roll. All right. Good roll. Good roll. It did break left. Thank you. What the heck? Okay. And this is the Is it in the back? Back. So, it slopes down and everything there. Yeah, there’s a big hump there. This is This is doable. You This is This is hole in one. Really? Oh, I see. I see the contours. One on the channel. Oh, let’s do it. I see the contour lines. Got it. Let’s Let’s do it. Hole in one right here. Oh, be good. Be good. Do it. I didn’t get a thumbs up or anything. Oh, the right side of the No way. Touchdown. There we go. That was a touchdown. There we go. You’re late, Shayaylor. You’re late. Thank you. Good shot. Good shot. Thanks. Great shot. This is just outside the edge. like just outside the edge. Okay, we got to make Come on, make a putt. Let’s do this. Come on. Be a player. Oh, we did it. Ah, dripped it. Very nice. Good putt. Nice. Okay. Uh, eight under through eight. Ooh, we got to move. All right. This is a nice visual. This a beautiful Let’s Let’s let my partner Let’s free him up so he can throw a dart in here. Anything from that big tree right will roll right. Yeah. Okay. Perfect. It’s good to know. Let’s go. Get just a little left. Stay up. Oh yeah. Good bounce. Wow. Get up on there. Wow. Right on the green, baby. I got a touchdown. You know how to celebrate. You walk off like a boss. That’s what you do. Okay. All right. I free my partner up finally. Another threewood. Chalk it up to six feet, I guess. Stop. Closer than my last wedge. Hook in there. Darn it. I jinxed myself. Ah, it’s right on the right edge. Wow. Okay, let’s see what we got. Let’s see the best shot. Let’s go make a putt. I just pushed it. Didn’t turn the face over. I was a little hesitant to turn it over for some reason. Be free. And sometimes for me when I just get a little tense, I just think be a kid, you know? Yeah. Oh, be a kid. Fearless. Fearless. Exactly. That’s right. Just these kids are fearless. Like no worry in the world. That’s right. Just let it go. Just go hit a ball. That’s right. You know, it’s pretty neutral, actually. It’s not really going downhill that much. A little bit, but not much cuz it’s going uphill in that first part, so it’s going to kind of net neutral it out. Okay. I’d play it pretty dang straight. Okay. I’m going to chip this one in for you. For me? Just for you. Let’s make one. Go, go, go. The wind didn’t hit it. Didn’t hit it. Just a little bit. Left. Go in. Left. Go. Son of a gun. God, you suck. I do. Thank you. Those are green light specials. Like they’re pretty simple for me most part. I don’t always execute them, but around the greens I’ve gotten really good with my wedges. It’s mainly just 100 yards sort of shot that I just suck. It’s not the best. Chase brings up to me every day. 458 to the hole. It’s a par five downwind. Probably have just under 100 yards. I mean, if you can’t eagle this one, we got to just pack it up. I like that. I heard I heard that. Let’s do that. Oh, get left. Come on. Sit. Might be short. I don’t know. No way. Get left. Oh, that’s going to be fun, coach. That’s going to be fun. That’s no good. That was a really bad drive, Chase. What is it? I play it right at 140. Okay. And you can see the top of the flag. Flag. Yeah. Beautiful. Stay left. Ah, stay. Stay left. Yep. Green. Perfect shot. What do you coach? Thank you. I’m used to this area. Oh boy, that’s funny. Thank you, coach. Yes, sir. Oh, be good. Oh, go in the hole. I might go in. Was it short? I didn’t get a thumbs up, too. Whatever. You had a great shot in there. Good shot. That was nice. Have to roll this one in. Yes, Chase. He already said we have to. Where we’re walking in? Yeah, it’s right in here. Right there. Starting right about there. Okay. It’s perfect. Let’s roll it in. Go, go in, go in, go in. Good try, dude. Thanks. That’s horrible. Gosh darn it, guys. Good try. That’s not good. Good try. frick. That’s a tough That broke a lot. Yeah. What’s one moment in your career that you wish you had back? Oh, good. Oh, man. Probably give it time, too. Yeah. Take time. Oh, I think I think leaving Dallas after we won the championship, I played one more year and then I became a free agent and I had to pick between New York and and Dallas. Um, I probably should have just stayed uh in Dallas and just finished my career off, but I wanted to I thought I could win another championship with the Knicks, but I probably looking back at it now, maybe should have stayed. The other thing I would I would probably look at doing differently was going straight into coaching. I went from retiring to the next day going into coaching. I should have took maybe a year off just to understand coaching a little bit better, but also just to detox from playing. Yeah. And so I went I went straight from playing straight to being a head coach and responsible for the team. I think I should have just took a break in between just to be fresher going into a coaching career. What do we got here? We got par 3 150 yards. Coach is going to hit it in there close for us. Okay. So I can fly it in the hole. No, no, no. That’s not close. Get left. No, that’s not close. Ah, all right. That’s bad. 150. Huh? That’s bad. Hit it. All right. That’s should be pretty close. Is that short? Short. Oh, you’re kidding. Ah, just not doing it today. Chase, what’s going on for me? Although these red TE’s are over 5,000 yards. I forgot to explain that. That makes it a lot more difficult a little bit. What’s your favorite uh coaching moment so far? Oh, last year going to the finals uh was was a highlight. Um but I I I enjoy getting guys paid. I love that when they work and the trust that they instill in me of trying to help them achieve their goals. Yeah. Uh winning, getting paid. Um and so that’s as a coach, I love to help guys achieve that. And I know that’s cool. Everybody wants to get paid. I try to help with two things, you know, play hard and trust. And and I can help you achieve what you wanted to achieve. and and so even if a player goes somewhere else and gets paid, I I I truly believe I I can help, you know, them achieve that. And and so that’s the coolest thing about coaching. What do you bring to the table that’s different than other coaches? Honesty at the right time. And that’s every time you have to be honest with the star player or the 17th player. If you’re honest, you don’t have to remember what you said because you’ve told the truth. The truth. And so and and I think sometimes we as coaches think we have to sugarcoat it. I think just being blunt and saying, you know, you stink or you need to do this. I think you get a better response. Even if they’re upset at the moment, they leave there knowing one that you care. Two, you’re not trying to show them up. You’re just trying to help them. Yeah. And so I think that’s one of the strengths is that I can be honest and hopefully they know that I’ve been in there in that seat and they understand that I’m here to help them, not hurt. I think also as a leader being vulnerable very important because I think if you’re vulnerable like even if you’re older or young like they go, man, our captain can be vulnerable in a in a sensitive situation. It’s just pure and I think you get a better return. That’s where I feel like I’ve I’ve uh grown this past three or four years, right? I’ve always been, okay, I know I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. And to where now I’m kind of more asking question, hey, how can I be better for you? How what can I do to help you out? That’s been a big goal of mine and it’s changed a lot of things. That is incredible. I think it’s inspiring to to learn from you, too, that you do the same sort of thing. No, I think it’s vulnerability right there, boss. Man, it just the wind kind of caught it, I guess, a little bit more. more. I thought it was more right to left, not into us. I I I feel I’m going to make this one. My partner needs me. I got to see this putt roll. Too far out there. Break. Break. Break. Break. Break. All right. See if I got this here. Just firm like Mhm. Turn in. Great putt. That was big. Great. Great putt. I’ll take that any day. Gosh, I needed to make that. Great. Great. Thank you. I thought that was going to sneak outside the hole just at the last minute. I was like, “No.” Cuz I actually fractionally pushed it, but got lucky there. I’ll take it. I know, Chase. I know. We need to eagle this hole. We need We need to do something. Come on. That’s it. Right straight ahead. So, this is the biggest green cuz this is the par five is right here on the right of it. All right. Downwind. Going to play two 60 265. Ah, get left. Get left. That’s so close. That is so close. Ah, bunker. It’s fine. What’ you say it was to the flag there? 2 272 272 12 yards down there. Yeah, it’s 260. Hook left. Why is it not hooking left? Ah, right in the bunker. Darn it. Pushed it. I’m pushing it today. You want a quesadilla? Uh, I’ll take one. Come on. Thank you. Get in there. Yep. Yeah. I I swung soft, too. Normally, when I swing hard, too, helps the face get closed. When I swing soft, the face doesn’t turn over as much. Stays open. Uh-huh. Bold of you to choose another chicken quesadilla after last time. Very bold. What happened? This is so tough to hit off of right now. Look at that. Damn you, chicken quesadilla. So good though. You almost died. All right, it did almost died. It almost choked. Choked to death. Uh-oh. Yeah. You want to land it up in here and trickle it down. Okay. Okay. Spin. Sit. Okay. Good shot. All right. Thank you. Good shot. All right. You’ve never done this before. Feel never ever sit. Oh, went right. Wow. Darn it. No. Good try. Yeah, I just hit too far. That’s right. Clutch factory right here. This is just outside the edge. Left edge. Oh, it didn’t break at all. It broke after. There’s maybe two inches out, right? I just took it a little bit too far out. Roll it in parts. Great putt. Great putt. There we go. Great putt. Easy peasy. Nice. Save us. Great, dude. We’ve got to make an eagle. I keep messing up. You know the best part about it is right now I got some chicken quesad. Yeah, they were delicious. That bunker shot it’s almost You think it’s going to come off that hill and left. I just flew it too far. I would have landed it on that hill. It would have bounced a little left. These these are next two. We got a fullcourt press here. These two holes, this one and the next one. We have to eagle right in between fivewood and 3-wood. I could hit a hard fivewood, which I think is going to be the play or soft 3-wood. 300 downwind 275 front. Okay, it’s fivewood for sure for me. Cut in there left. Watch out. All right, coach. All right, parts pick us up. Go. Oh, it’s just short. Son of a gun. I thought that was there. He gave touchdown. I don’t think it’s as far off as it looks like. No, I love your ball just climbs. It can. Sometimes I like that, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes it makes it horrible into the wind finish. I’d rather be piercing 99% of the time. What was it like playing against uh Michael Jordan? Uh the best am the best compared to like Kobe the It’s the same really. Yeah. Tell me about that. Like the difference between the two. The two it’s very they’re very similar. There’s not a lot of difference. Um both were assassins like they wanted to they’re going to win at at all costs. They’re going to do whatever it takes to help their team win and you know never rest. How about like LeBron nowadays? LeBron the same way. LeBron LeBron is I think goes down as one of the best ever to play. Who do you think is the best? Like if you could rank them or is it just too impossible? I think that’s a hard that it’s it’s super hard because M is I think he’s up there and then Kobe and then you have LeBron is up there too. So, but his accolades are what he’s doing at the age of 40 is insane. Yes. It’s it’s like probably won’t be done for a long time. He’s doing what 25 year olds are doing at the age of 40. And I think what we lose is it looks really easy and at the age of 40 is not easy. And he’s working his butt off. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so when you look at M and and Kobe very similar. Very very LeBron is a different beast. 265 270ish. That’s no. And then and that train is moving right. And so you ain’t stopping. No. No. And you’re not getting in the way of that train. And so, but his ability to pass, he his game is different than those two. And that’s why it’s hard to compare because when you look at LeBron, he can do it all. And right now, he’s shooting the ball as well as ever. But when you talk about Kobe and and M very, they’re in that same category. Assassins uh want to take the last shot, want to win championships, going to will their team to win. Um and so they’re they’re kind of twins. M nowadays it seems like there’s some more entertaining players like like now because of social media and whatnot. It’s so weird cuz the the Tiger era like my like Tiger Woods and Kobe they all installed like this Killer Instinct mentality and now I feel like it’s changing a little bit to where we’re entertainers and we’ve got to also play the killer instinct mentality but also be entertaining. It’s 100% when you talk about we have to entertain it’s uh a different ball game. Yeah. But how do you That balance is tough. Ooh. How do you balance the two? I’m learning that right now. Of like killer and entertainer. I think it’s that um I call it compartmentalizing. Like if you’re able to compartmentalize and go, I’m an entertainer right now and then now I got to flip the switch. I’m the killer. Yes. And I got to go back to entertaining. So you just you learn to compartmentalize and segment it out to and to balance the two. 100%. Let’s put Let’s make one. I’m due to make one. Oh, be good. Be good. Where is it? I can’t see it. Where is it? Oh. Oh, I didn’t see where that pin was. That really jked me out. Go. These greens are so soft right now. Wow. I think yours might be better. Well, that’s what they’re saying. I’m I think yours is better. All right, partner. Come on. What do you like here? Straight. Straight. What do you guys see? Pretty straight. Straight. Okay. Maybe just a fraction left of anything, but nothing outside the hole. Okay. Breaks left pretty hard. Just bounces left. All right. Let me knock this in. Great putt. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. God, that’s the corniest thing I could have said. Great putt. That was the corniest thing I could have said. Lemon what? Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Yeah, don’t say that. Okay, 13 under through 13. Hey, the thing is we have five holes. If we do five eagles, we still break. That’s true. Okay, this is the hole we got started. It’s just time to turn it on. Let’s do some damage here. 213 into the wind. A little uphill. This could be a hole. Uh ah right in between clubs. Well, just take a step back then. It doesn’t It doesn’t work like that. Jeez. Play 225. Okay. 12 more yards uphill. Yep. 225. It’s just a nice little sixiron. Hole in one. Like the golden tea animation. Well, that was a six stinger. That was dope. Well, it wasn’t a hole in one though. You never know. May hit the sprinkler and pop right and go in the hole. No hook. No. Is that green over there or No. Yeah, it should. Really? Yeah. God, I didn’t just drop. Do you have a guilty pleasure? dessert. Oh, yeah. Anything could be anything. Yeah. Yeah. I’m I’m a big Three Musketeer guy. Okay. I used to love Three Musketeers as a kid. Smoke those things. Oh, yes. That’s That’s probably that and golf. Yeah. Two vices. Yeah. Those are those are the two vice. Great shot. Great pie. Great ball. Yeah. It’s like right here. Starting line. Okay. Need this partner. Okay. This is it right here. Oh, a little right. Get left. All right. Freed me up. I push. This is going to be good. Sometimes when you know, you know. Oh, I thought I had that. You know, you don’t know. Oh, I wanted to go after that one. Darn it. Good try. Good. Thanks. I wanted that badly, too. Shoot. I saw and everything. Me, too. Well, I guess that’s 14 birdies in a row. We need a hole in one and some eagles. All right. Come on, Eagles. Here’s the eagle. This going to be a funny scorecard. I like it. 280. I don’t know if I should hit fivewood or not. Just hit the three wood, please. I It doesn’t work like that. Where’s this pin? It’s a better question than saying just at the 3-wood. Oh, yeah. It’s it’s it’s downs sloping to it as well, right? Yeah. It’s fivewood chase. Everything’s going to be fine. Everything’s okay. We’ve only made 14 birdies in a row. All right, we got to eagle a hole. Yep. Come on, partner. Hook in there. Hook. Hook. Hook. Hook. Close. That’s close. That’s fine. Oh, you smoked that. That feel making me feel better. [Music] Just hold the green. Yeah, green. All right. I can’t draw it right now. I don’t know what the deal is. Boom. No, you’ll see that this green is funky, too. Yeah, it goes down to the left, doesn’t it? Yeah, it’s a big hump. False front. I was trying to get like a lower penetrating one that kind of drew in there. And you don’t really deserve this, but you need it. I know. Thank you. Another one. 42 ft for eagle. One of these has got to drop. This looks like an opportunity right here. This is pretty straightforward, coach. Okay. Oh, that’s pretty good. Come on, baby. Oh, it’s going to go. Come on. Come on. Finally. That way. I knew it was going to be coach. Let’s go. That was sick. Great job. Great read. Great rig. Great rig. That was awesome. Great job. Great. Great re. Huge, man. Great eagle. Oh, that’s awesome. That’s what break 50 is all about right there. Oh man, that was incredible. Great call. Three. Hey, series is 3-2 now. 3-2. Series is 3-2. We won an important game right there. We got we got another hole to go get. Good job. Great. Great. That was awesome. Great. Man, when you said I mean right after I hit it go, that’s that could be good. I’m like, how does he know? I see so many putts. It’s like it being released off your shot. You’re like, oh, that’s going to be good. Yeah. Par five. Perfect. A little into the wind, but that’s okay. Okay. It’s a great time to redeem myself with a driver. You might you might be able to almost drive it. Really? Yes. Okay. Anything on that on the right side of that trap, it it kick. There’s It kicks left. Okay, cool. All right, guys. All we got to do is go seven under on three holes. Perfect. And we’ll be good right where we how we ordered it. Yeah, we got we got them right where we want them. Right. Right. It’s 360. Got them relaxed. They don’t think we’re going to keep playing. A beautiful drive. Thanks. That’s so perfect right here. Thank you. Good stuff. Good. Thank you. Oh, well, you’re about to see my long drive swing now. Oh, just pushed it a little bit. Go left draw. That was hit hard. That was a 92 93 ball speed, but I think I just thinned it a little bit. If hot with the ball. Oh, I keep it. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Absolutely. I did that in the final round of the 2020 US Open. Yes. I play Tyler right now, but I used a Bridgestone back then, and that golf ball wasn’t scuffed really bad, and I was playing really well with him. Like, I’m not changing this golf ball for the US Open. So, you just rode that that ball that ball. I have it in my office. Oh yeah, that’s cool. That is very cool. That’s the only ball I’ve ever kept cuz it’s my first major. It was the first one. I just wanted to keep it. And then I’ve got, you know, it’s funny right next to the that golf ball. I didn’t even keep my golf ball that I won the US Open with this last time around. That’s like how cool it was to me cuz I switched balls during the round. So it wasn’t like crazy important. But I actually have two long drive balls that signify my longest balls that I hit in the world long drive challenge. I hit a 423 yard ball and something like that and I just kept it. Oh, I was like, I got to have these. There’s two of them. It was like 418 and 423. You smashed it. Yeah. This is Albatross range. Oo. Imagine Albatross Eagle Eagle. That would be nuts. Great ball. 71. This thing This uh this moves back left, right? This goes right to left hard. Yeah. Okay. Get up. Get up. Go. Oh, no way. Oh, that spun like crazy. Oh. All right, I’m going to throw it right at the hole. No way. Are you freaking kidding me? That went nowhere. Tough. I actually thought I had a good shot. I thought you did, too. Not good enough, though. I think it’s uh I think it’s time for the rally jersey on this putt. Oh, okay. Okay. Yep. Where we got it? Do we have Oh, it’s still shorts. Shorts. We should have got you a I’ll put the shorts on. That’d be hilarious. Rally shorts. Rally shorts. Rally shorts. So, we decided rally shorts. You know, most people do the jersey. Most people do the cap. We’re doing the shorts this time. Rally shorts. Let’s roll. Rally shorts, baby. Let’s go. This is perfect. I love it. Oh gosh. Let’s make this. Come on. Yeah. Yeah. It’s pretty straight up at the top and then it goes left. So, it’s starting right about here. Okay. Got it. Hit it 3/4 of the way. Okay. Got them rally shorts on. Come on. I see you. Get left. Get left. Get left. Get left. Left. Left. Oh, that. Ah. Stay straight. Yep. Didn’t break as hard as I thought. Man, I was playing at that ball mark, too. Come on. Oh, it goes right at the end. Oh. Oh, that was a good putt, too. It just went right at the end. Knocked that in. Son of a gun. Good putt. That’s my fault. Yeah, take him off. You don’t You don’t deserve that. Take him off. Take him off. Get Get rid of him. That was disgraceful. That’s embarrassing. I don’t deserve to be on the Mavericks. 83. Little down 80. Just over 10 o’clock. 70. All right. Come on. Knock it in, coach. Hole in one. You know, we were talking about that hole in one a little earlier. I know. We We need one right here. A little something special here. [Music] Sit. All right. Oh. All right. You’re good. Sorry. Pause. Dude, fine. Oh, I just pushed it. I’m not drawing it in there like I want to. Chase, good try. Good shot. What you got here, partner? Left edge. Yep. I like that. Left edge. Just a hair to your guys. Yep. Left edge would be left edge. Left edge. Maybe left center. That’s looking good. Looking good. Cooler. That didn’t break. All right. This game is brutal. It really is. I hate it. I love it. I love it and hate it at the same time. Oh, I I agree with you. I I love it and hate it at the same time, too. But game of inches. There we go. Great putt. All right. Great putt. I’ll take it. Fine. That’s fine. Hey, Chase. I guess we could call call that like the par three participation award. Yeah, it’s a participation award. We don’t want participation awards here. We want to break 50. Dude, this is So, what did I tell you when we started? This is almost an impossible task. It literally is so difficult. It is a tough task. Part three is the toughest, but we actually did somewhat well on them. Yes, it is a hard task. Well, you have to be perfect. Oh, no. Yeah. So, I think like that Vince Lombardi quote, striving to achieve perfection while knowing we’re not going to achieve perfection, we’ll achieve excellence along the way. That’s right. And I think that’s the cool part. All we got to do is shoot 5 under on We just got to shoot negative one here. Okay. 271. Oh, this is easy for him to knock it in the hole. He can knock it in the hole from here. Where’s the pin? Let’s check that out. Is it in the back? Right. No, it’s middle. Middle and sloping left to right or right to left. Right to left. Okay. All right. Here we go. 275 hook in there. Oh man. Hook. Close. Ah. All right. I’m going to throw this one up in the air a little bit. Chase, that one might be on nine. 271.285. Just a nice smooth 3-wood. Oh, wow. Come on. Bounce left. I mean, I should be good. Just trying to go. That’s where he told me to go. Should be really good. All right. That’s what happens when you pull a 3-wood, Chase. I know. I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of a lot of battles out there. A lot of rough talking. Who’s a Who’s the best talker out there for you? Um, when I was playing it was Gary Payton. Really? Oh, yeah. Gary never stopped talking. You had Reggie Miller, Gary Payeyton, and well, before I Larry Bird was another one that he was a big one. Yeah. He would tell you that. Nobody really talked about that either. No. Larry Bird would tell I’m going to shoot it right Larry would tell you I’m going to shoot it right here and there’s nothing you can do. And he would go right there and shoot it and cash. That 3-wood is sick. Yeah. My I I got to say, Chase, my average three-wood distance from the hole compared to my wedges is a lot better today. Yeah, you were right about his three-wood. We talked about it on the whole line. We got a swinger. Okay. About like right there. Started right about there. Okay. You were right about a 3wood though. Do it. Do it. Come on. Oh, good roll. Golly. Roll it in parts. Hold your head. Oh, it didn’t. That was a bad read on my end. Golly. Not a Not an easy putt. No, that wasn’t easy. It didn’t leave us an easy one. No. All right, we’ll knock that one in. End it off. Oh, okay. Almost gave me a scare there. Thank you. Thanks, coach. I appreciate it. Thank you. That just burnt the sound barrier, by the way. Climb nuclear. That was awesome. Thank you. That was incredible. had a lot of fun. Had a great time. Sorry, that was break. Are you kidding me? That was 19 under par. That’s 54 53. 53. That’s better than uh Paige Spranic. Yeah. Right. Better than Phil Mickelson. Better than Phil Mickelson. We beat Phil Mickelson. I I feel good. I’ll sleep good tonight. Thank you. And uh let’s go work on my uh my shot now. [Music]

  1. Bryson, as a young dude, you think Lebron is the best with stars in your eyes. Go watch some film of MJ. LeBron can't carry MJ's jock. MJ just didn't lose when he got to championship. He never switched teams like LeBron did several times. Different rules of the game also.

  2. I’m a huge J-Kidd fan, right from the start asking questions like a point guard/coach at heart and on top if off he’s a true 70’s baby rocking the golf T with the top button on lock.

  3. I would love a game of golf with this man, I stopped playing golf years ago and suffer with mental health and really want to get back into playing this would give me the confidence to give it my all you are always happy and do passionate about golf, it would be a perfect day ❤
