  1. You didn’t get a great deal, but this is a fine set to get started.

  2. The driver and 7-wood are an older set, probably from the early 2000s if I had to guess, but they’ll do while your still learning. You can’t go wrong with a 2-ball putter, but if you’re having struggles with the blade style putter, you can always look into a mallet style.

On the other hand the irons are more blade style. They’ll be harder to hit and a lot less forgiving than your traditional ‘beginner irons’. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as it’ll show you your weaknesses a lot quicker and help you to sort everything out, but don’t go expecting great shots all the time. If you do want to look into more beginner friendly irons, you want a chunkier sole of the club – the bottom part which touches the ground.

Without any information about price I think it’s an alright deal. Mizuno irons are generally really good and a lot of people love the feel of them. When you do go to upgrade some clubs I’d start with the woods as getting some newer models will help a lot.

Remember to just get out there and have fun!
