When Tommy Fleetwood’s final putt dropped at the Tour Championship for his long-awaited first PGA Tour victory, it was another tick off the board for the Tour’s winningest putter.

With his TaylorMade Spider Tour Black, Fleetwood checked off win No. 13 for the putter family on the 2025 PGA Tour, more than double any other model in the 39 FedEx Cup regular season events.

But the Spider wasn’t the only successful putter family, as Scotty Cameron had three different putter shapes win three times or more this year, and as a brand, it collected 11 wins from 10 different players.

Keep reading below for more on the winningest putters of 2025 on the PGA Tour.

No putter won more than the TaylorMade Spider.

While the total number of wins can largely be attributed to Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler racking up eight victories (including three majors) with their Spider Tour X and Spider Tour X L-Neck, respectively, the putter family’s seven different winners is still more than any other putter family this season.

Fleetwood uses the slightly larger Spider Tour head, as did Nick Taylor when he won the Sony Open back in January with a Spider Tour Red. Brian Harman also captured the first win for the new Spider ZT at the Valero Texas Open when the model was still a prototype.

TaylorMade 2025 Spider 5K-ZT Custom Putter

TaylorMade 2025 Spider 5K-ZT Custom Putter

LOW TORQUE DESIGN
The KBS putter shaft is bored directly toe-ward near the CG at a 1° shaft lean with 25mm onset behind the face allowing golfers to realize the benefits of a new stable, toe up design.
UNIQUE SOLE SHAPING
New and improved sole shaping to work specifically with this unique hosel configuration, engineers worked tirelessly to find new ways to improve accuracy from the moment the putter is placed behind the ball. The new sole curvature accommodates different player types and ball positions, giving golfers the ability to find a consistent and repeatable stroke.
SPIDER STABILITY
Combining high density stainless steel and low-density aerospace quality aluminum provides the perfect foundation for a design that is high MOI and allows for a shaft orientation that sits closer to the face.
MILLED TRUE PATH™ ALIGNMENT
Based on tour player feedback, we were tasked to find a new premium alignment system. Building on the classic TaylorMade True Path™ technology, milled lines the width of the golf ball were added helping golfers properly index to center face.

2. Scotty Cameron Phantom (5 wins, 5 players)

Not to be overshadowed, the Scotty Cameron Phantom mallet series collected five wins from five different players, including U.S. Ryder Cup team members Justin Thomas, Cameron Young and Russell Henley. European Ryder Cup team member Justin Rose also collected a win with a Phantom at the FedEx St. Jude Championship earlier this month.

Thomas, Henley, Rose and Ryan Gerard all use a variant of the Phantom 5 shape, while Young won and was 6th on PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting this season with a Phantom 9.5R Tour prototype.

The Ping Anser ushered in the era of the modern blade putter, so it’s no surprise to see variants of the shape continue to win on the PGA Tour.

Both Ryan Fox and Brian Campbell won twice this season using a variant of the Anser. Fox used a counterbalanced Ping Anser 2D, which is a wider, plumber’s neck version of the original. Campbell strokes a prototype PLD milled Anser 2.

Among four different models, Ping putters had seven wins from five different players.

PING Scottsdale Anser 2D Custom Putter

PING Scottsdale Anser 2D Custom Putter

The Scottsdale family combines a one-piece face insert with a big jump in forgiveness across model styles and stroke types to fit every golfer and elevate performance on the greens. The lightweight PEBAX insert creates discretionary weight used to increase MOI while ensuring a soft feel, a pleasing sound, and consistent ball speeds.
This slightly deeper, perimeter-weighted blade design has similar weight, size and forgiveness of a mid-mallet putter. A single contrasting alignment line and clean heel-toe ballasts make aiming easier to inspire a confident stroke in this slight-arc model.

Titleist

One of the most highly sought-after putters by gear heads is the Scotty Cameron 009 and 009M and it won three times on the PGA Tour this past year.

The 009 and the 009M (M stands for Masterful) are Tour-only versions of the classic Scotty Cameron Newport shape, but with more rounded edges along the bumpers.

Joe Highsmith won the Cognizant Classic with a custom-built 009M that he received just a few weeks before the tournament. Aldrich Potgieter has been a longtime player of the 009M he used to win at the Rocket Classic.

Hideki Matsuyama also used a custom 009M with a center-shaft configuration.

5. Scotty Cameron Newport 2 (3 wins, 2 players)

Ben Griffin and Kurt Kitayama's putters.

The other putter model with more than two victories this past season was the classic Scotty Cameron Newport 2 shape. The Newport 2 traces its roots back to the classic heel-toe weighted blade design that set the standard for modern putters. It was also popularized as Tiger Woods’ putter of choice for 14 of his 15 major titles.

Both players who won with the Newport 2 this season were non-Titleist staffers, Ben Griffin (Zurich Classic and Charles Schwab Challenge) and Kurt Kitayama (3M Open) and while their putters are different, they both use an insert.

Officially noted as a Concept 2 tour prototype, Griffin has had his black Newport 2 for years and it sports a sought-after GSS (German Stainless Steel) insert. Kitayama’s Studio Style Newport 2 tour prototype putter is based on the retail Studio Style Newport 2 that was released earlier this year and features the new SCS (Studio Carbon Steel) insert. Kitayama was previously in a similar Newport 2 made entirely from GSS.
