I remember that incident. Paul Casey had a normal 3 iron and what he called was a strong 3 iron. He pulled the wrong club out of the bag, the strong 3 iron and hit it through the green. That's why they ended up laughing as Paul admitted his mistake and went public about it afterwards.
Casey is a good dude. That is a true friendship, built in respect. It's not just a caddy player relationship… If that was Bubba Watson he would be yelling at his caddie.
Always love Paul, but he vaulted into my top few when this went down. Canโt recall exactly but I think he was only 2 shots back. Probably not a real chance, but many others would have had a different reaction here. All class!
For anyone wondering he had two 4 irons, and he pulled the wrong one. his explanation โMy 3-iron and 4-iron, theyโre actually the same head,โ Casey said. โOne is bent stronger than the other. Clearly, I canโt tell the difference when I put them down. Oneโs got a little 4 on it, and the 3โs got nothing onโ
Paul Casey is a fabulous golfer, and an even better person…. The few times I've interacted with him and witnessed others speaking with him, he's been nothing but polite
The person you have to worry about is the one not doing anything. The ones working will make mistakes. The mistakes the boss made not checking the work also Clint even more. The golf should have taken a second to look at the club handed to him.
If my caddie pulled a 4 and I hit it to right there from 248 out, I woulda been jumping up and down and giving him a hug. Iโd probably say something like โYouโre hiredโ or โWe really gotta start paying you for thisโ too ๐
This is why Jack Nicklaus pulled his own clubs out of the bag. He never allowed a caddie to tell him what club he needed. Todayโs pros need to go back to golf school and learn what clubs they need for themselves. The caddie should only be carrying the clubs. Not picking their clubs for them. Blame the player not the caddie.

He told Casey yards and Casey thought it was meters.
The caddie hands the player a club, the player doesn't check it before swinging it – players fault if it goes wrong!
Mystery number
What a silly man

Why is no one talking about the dubbed swing sound? You can literally hear when he hits the ball, but then they add the SWOOSH with a 2 second delay.
Classy Casey, good on him. PS He should be the next British James Bond.
A bad workman always blames his tools
If a pro player canโt figure out what club heโs holding in his hands he really shouldnโt blame the caddy
Wasnt the caddie tho he owned up to it after the match
"Did you hand me the wrong 4i?"

caddie looks like his father
From the same lie my 4w worm crawled into the left fairway bunker ๐ โณ๏ธ
Piss off
Playing golf at this level you know what club is right!!
Donโt blame the caddie
I would be thrilled with that shot๐
I believe iv seen somewhere that he carries two 4 irons with differnt lofts. The golfer actually pulled the wrong club out the bag.
As a golfer you should already know what club to hit FFS
Murphys law. ๐
This is old. Paul Casey realized he pulled the wrong club. The caddy didn't screw this up.

Why are they showing this old clip from a retired player?
If i ever fly the green from 250 with an iron I would be the happiest man on the course ๐๐๐
Casey took responsibility lol he pulled the wrong club out of the bag
So absurd they donโt use refiners. Especially on LIV tour which has abandoned all good traditions. What a bunch of douchebags! ๐คก
I like this. Instant accountability, the caddie takes responsibility, and both move on quickly to solving the problem.

Whatโs happened to Paul Casey?
5 iron huh?? Well your fired… Shooter McGavin.๐
Huh ๐ค๐๐ถ๐ค๐๐
Jesus, there's not an iron in my bag that'll carry 240 with me behind it.
Iโd LOVE Caseyโs swing man!

The Player must know better than caddy which club to use. Don't blame him.
I donโt understand tour pros that donโt know their own yardages

A future diplomatic role perhaps ? ๐
Me and my caddy would never make such a silly mistake. Ive also never met my caddy.
fake
How did a 4 iron go over the green from 248 yards with that swing?
I fully confess to getting out my 6i when I'm reaching for my 9 on the odd occation, but how can you mix up a 4 with a 3!?!
Those two gay bois are gonna have a lovers quarrel later.

When he is a big boy he will be able to make his own decisions
I know like Paul casey even more ๐๐๐ช๐๐
He turned it over. If he hit a fade it may have been in the hole. Sure wasn't 20 miles an hour wind in the face. Amazing iron player.
