  1. I don’t watch many American races, the cuts in the broadcast are wild but the recap is great. Great horses, very nice race, great spirit

  2. I wonder why Sovereignty missed The Preakness? The 3 year old had a chance to be a Triple Crown winner.

  3. I thought the Belmont was 1.5 miles, not 1.4 miles. Maybe with all the horse injuries of the past few yrs., they were required to cut the distance back ? Somebody pls. explain.

  4. Running this shorter distance disqualifies the race from the Triple Crown, I did not even watch until two weeks later. If they continue this, I see no reason next year to watch the Preakness either. I will still watch the Derby though. But the Triple Crown is ended. At least for now.

  5. The most impressive thing of all is that Alvarado, entering the final curve, only gives him a whiplash, right next to Jornalism, and as he passes him, he only guides him with the reins and his arms. Seeing that the horse is invincible, he congratulates him and pats him. What a connection between rider and horse!

  6. Best 3 year old in the World 😂😂. Have you not heard of Field of Gold or Lambourn??

  7. If this was the normal Belmont at the distance of 1 1/2 miles, instead of this 1 1/4 shortened version, the Sovereignty would have left the whole field in the dust.

    Truly powerful horse.

  8. I still think Journalism is the better horse. Don't forget, sovereignty had a long time off. Guess it was a good idea to scrap the Preakness. If only Journalism had done the same!

  9. Sovereignty would have been a Triple Crown winner, a shame, to be honest, because he didn't participate in the Preakness due to a problem with one of his hind legs. They didn't want to compromise him in that race and cause the horse to be harmed for life.

  10. That move was a money move to skip the preakness, the horse should've ran that race. Not taking away anything from Journalism he is a fantastic boy as well but why deprive the horse from the triple crown when he was fit to race only to leave doubt?

  11. This is a lot different from the other horse races I've been watching recently. I wonder what Sparks they have?

  12. So what was the reasoning for Sovereignty skipping out on Preakness after taking top spot in the derby?? Trying to boost up the breeding price by keeping fresh for the last race?

But I mean a horse only has 1 shot in its life to be a triple crown winner and I would figure 3/3 wins would make any horse double the price of just a 2/3 winner

  13. Nice choke Journalism 😂 had Sovereignty gone to Preakness it wouldn't have gone down like that

  14. Rodriquez really looks like ruffian on the field, but in gelding form. He is built and looks like her, almost the same marketing but full star then crescent star

  15. I think more than winning the race was seeing the camaraderie and the love of the exchange between their horses that they rode! That means more than actually winning!
