  1. Need help with knee pain? It’s not about pure quad strength – the root cause many times lies in control of the strength you do have. Going single leg can often expose this big weak link many don’t realize is present.

Shout out @muscleandmotion for the amazing anatomy graphics, @carla.leclercq, @johnny_kaufman & @prestonpowell for their features.

  2. I got the exact opposite problem. I can easily do bulgarian split squats holding an 80 lbs dumbbell in each hand for reps with good form, yet I can’t even squat 315 lbs.

  3. Why do we want feel the glute to make this work? Why do we need to bend that much forward pls? I have practiced with one leg to strengthen my knee but I did not bend forward.

  4. My right knee is starting to hurt every now and then when I Squat or hack squat. So the main thing is my weak glutes making hurting my knees?🤔

  5. Single leg squat is bullshit… it's unnecessary and unnatural… there is no need for anyone to do that unless their sport require it. Stay smart and stay away from injuries

  6. But my pain comes AFTER the exercise. Either when walking or sitting or lying down. I can do all of this but nsaids are must for me..

  7. This is bad advice. Knee stability doesn't come from squats of any kind. It comes from glute strength, gluteus minimus and medius.

  8. Love your page, you are helping me not get arthritis as fast as my ancestors. Hopefully I can avoid it all the way !

  9. I’ve just started these on orders from my pt! I’ve started developing pain from running and wanted to catch it early because it happened on the opposite knee last year and got to a debilitating point, and I wanted to avoid that this time. And man, just a few days in and I can already feel the stability and strength increases. Also working on hip and tibialis anterior strengthening.

  10. Dear Dr Aaron, could you do a video or short on the difference between a side heel touchdown (like in this video) is a heel touchdown to the front of the platform? I'd really appreciate it.
