Shoutout to the guy in here that said I was a dumbass and had no idea what I was talking about with the Kirkland balls vs "enter major brand name here". The balls have always been one of the best for what it provides, cheap pricing and it still holds up against the major brands.

Mygolfspy when they dismiss Kirkland brand – Oh they’re not credible. No one listens to them.

Mygolfspy when they endorse Kirkland brand – oh hell yeah. Kirkland is back baby.

  2. carlton_urkel

Extreme claims drive engagement. It was probably always a good budget ball just short of the premium balls and still is.

  3. Fradulent_Zodiac

    For $1.25/ball it’s insane value.

Worth buying a few dozen and hoarding them away before they get sued again.

  4. hahaha16789

Kirkland must have cut a nice check 😂

  5. I always like them. They just don’t seem to last. And yes I destroy mine by hitting trees/OB etc. But the Titleists and Callaways of the world seem to last forever

  6. Cody-Fakename

Guess MGS got their Costco membership upgraded to Executive for free …

  7. Just got a box of the new ones and they are much much less spinny off the tee

  8. theuberprophet

Id play them if the cover held up for longer than 2 holes, if that.

  9. Only problem is they say Kirkland on them.

  10. Was looking at them in the UK store. Is it the V3 which are the good ones?

  11. doobusauce

They hit great and from my putting endeavors, they roll well and feel good off the face.

  12. PhatTuna

One the best values, sure. One of the best balls? Hell no.

I have been gaming these for a couple of weeks and I have been using them in my simulator (7 cap, 100 driver swing speed) I have found they perform equal to the pro v1x and are surprisingly durable. I will be using them from now on and have already stocked up in case they stop selling them as Costco seems to do with stuff I like

  14. 02bluesuperroo

You contradict yourself because you say you were right all along but you say the balls have always been good. That’s not the case. They were good, then they sucked for several years, and now paid influencers are saying they’re good again; and maybe they are.

  15. Mysterious_Worker608

I lost six of them last week, and it was less painful than losing six ProV1s.

FWIW: high handicapper here, steadily dropping strokes towards mid.

I moved on from supersofts back in March/April. My playing level is no where near ProVs, TP5s, Chrome Tours, or Z-Stars. Have been playing rounds and alternating between Kirklands and Vice Pro Plus. IME Kirklands are spinnier. Absolute great value buy. Also, the Vice Pro Plus gets scuffed/cut up SO DAMN EASILY.

At the price point and performance, it’s hard to say no. Unless you find deals on the Maxfli’s (next up on my test list – got 4 dozen).

  17. NorCalHack

Glad it has been confirmed. I bought these a few weeks ago and have been really impressed.

  18. AverageGolfDad

Hmm I am not saying they aren’t…but will the cover stock last longer than one wedge?

They always spun a lot, and felt good off the club face. However, they fall apart the covers do not hold up on them.

  19. Picture doesn’t match your title.. they weren’t “always” the best, just this most recent version. The ver 2 balls were absolute ass…. Short and spinny off the tee. For $1/ball still not a bad value but now even better

  20. Leonidas1293

FYI: They also sell highlighter colored ones through their website as well!

  21. pietran30

Prefer the Sam’s club “Member’s Mark” balls to the kirklands

  22. DannyPoppler18

Any clue how they compare against the Members Mark balls? I recently started playing the MM and they feel solid, but have never tried the Kirkland balls.

  23. Userdub9022

I bought some second chance Kirkland’s and really liked them.

  24. BodybuilderSalt9807

Buy these up and stock them. The next iteration may not be as good.

  25. 99% of found balls in Florida are Kirkland.

  26. Kaiathebluenose

The new ones have been great

  27. FatFaceFaster

That’s the point though – their balls have not *always* been good value.

Because for a while they were making absolute crap.

When they first came out they were basically a Pro V and were so good and so close to the pro v that they got sued to oblivion and werent allowed to make that ball anymore.

But they had already developed the reputation as “an amazing ball similar to the pro v for a fraction of the price” so when they came out with the next generation of Pwrformance+ everyone assumed it was the same until MGS came along and proved they were crap. So if you wanted to play with crap to save some money go ahead. But if you cared about performance avoid the Kirkland….

    That’s what they WERE saying.

Now they’re saying this new version of the Kirkland is much better and worth gaming again.

But that doesn’t eliminate the fact that *if* you care about playing a good ball that is consistently round, properly balanced, and generally consistent – 99% of the Kirkland you’ll find in the woods right now are not good.

The new ones on the shelf in Costco currently however, are good.

That’s what the guy was saying.

  28. DBSmiley

Hot take: cheap golf balls give near enough as makes no difference performance for more than 95% of players whose variance on their own shots is orders of magnitude larger than the variance of the golf balls. Thus, unless you’re one of the top 5% of players, there’s no reason to pay more than $2 per ball.

All you should really worry about is soft vs hard.

I literally see no reason to stop buying noodles when I can’t break 100 yet and I lose 5-10 balls a round

  29. EntertainmentFew7103

What has changed in the ball?  When I tried them a couple years back they produced way too much spin(for me), especially on longer clubs.  Possibly also durability- a full wedge would chop up a brand new ball.

They were great ball’s, especially for the deal you get.  Great feel to them.  Just didn’t work out for me.

  30. trumpuniversity_

I love these posts because they bring out the 30 handicaps that also happen to be ball snobs.

  31. UltraLaguna-Beans

The only thing about kirklands are if you have an agressive wedge they scuff pretty quick. Other than that they are green on the course. Stops on a dime, nice distance, and cheap when you buy in bulk so you can literally slice them away to the woods or water without feeling sad because you lost a $1.25 ball instead of a $5 ball. Sign me the F up 😅😅😅

  32. Accomplished-Bet8880

I play pro v. I play vice pro plus. But kirklands my go to. Just a great all around ball dirt cheap. Most people can’t tell the difference anyways.
