  1. Great information Greg – thank you. The one question I have is how do I align my club face with my new grip? Right now, I'm experimenting with a slightly stronger grip a al Azinger and trying to hit more of a fade swing. So is the training aid grip positioned differently than if I'm playing with a neutral grip?

  2. I’m a 2 handicap and been playing ribbed grips for the last two seasons and it has helped my ballstriking tremendously.

I have been hitting it better with a strong grip but I’m going to try gripping it more neutral like Scottie after watching this video!

  3. lol. Anyone else tired of these golf experts and the long drawn out blather? After 7 minutes, I gave up. I am positive if there was anything of value, it could be explain in two minutes.

  4. Has to be the single most exact video that I needed to watch. I have the right grip~ but fail to exactly put it where it needs to be on the club every time.
I own a yard stick, I own fitted clubs, I have Winn DriTac 2.0 grips which are great in all weather ~ but did exactly what you said. Grounded the club and then gripped it. A simple unnoticeable error~ fixable, ribbed grips ( who knew) 😉 Thanks Mr 30 years a coach‼️
No wonder ~ one day I cannot miss a shot, the next is like I never swung a club before.
All the way from Idaho ~ I Thank You ‼️

  5. I would say that fundamentals is the most important thing in golf like the grip. For instance, the fundamentals is everything that we as the player can control before even thinking about swinging the golf club. Great video!

  6. “Cough syrup! It’s not as bad as you think and it’s good for you.” Brilliant! And that message board is priceless!

  7. Your thumbs are on the edge of the ruler, aligned together… but.. your bottom thumb seems on the side with your club… may be explain furthermore ? Thanks.

  8. Great video! Love the summary board at the end too. I'd love to see a follow-up some time with your thoughts about how to sense the face throughout the swing. I started a little slicy, then got to single figures after changing to a stronger lead hand. However, I had directional/ trajectory/ spin issues and have been trying to be more neutral since. I am now a 5 hcp and though my grip is quite neutral, I find it harder to feel the face compared to previously, when I was either playing with a very shut/ or very open face. So. I have got better, but ironically I used to be able to predict the shape more easily previously, wheras now I am straighter but feel like I am on a tightrope, where I can fall off either side, i.e., a two-way miss (though I have less curvature generally now.

Not sure if I am being clear, but your thoughts on the above might make for a great follow-up video.

  9. So is the actual grip just a straight up neutral grip like they have on the grip trainer clubs?

  10. Can you let us know which clubs have the ribbed grip? Specifically the driver and wedges? If it's on the wedges does it help or hurt you when opening the face?

  11. Outstanding analysis and breakdown of a segment of Scheffler’s preshot routine. If this doesn’t help you to at least grip properly prior to addressing the ball every single time then that 15th club in your bag doesn’t exist.

  12. Great video just Sub look forward to more of your insight ps been using rib grips on my irons and round on my woods because of shaft movement through out the season but the yard sick is genius and been looking for a month for that trainer grip thanks for that piece of info 🏌️

  13. Really appreciate this. Had a buddy ask year ago ask why I always hit with an open face. Told him it isn’t open and I’ve been that way for 40 years. Clubs needed to be regripped and had the Max Align put on. Went to the range today with them and the face looked so closed I felt like I was going to hit my left foot. Trusted the face to be square and started hitting beautiful high draws. Contact moved from very toey to more center of the face. Great tip!!! Thank you and now might get handicap down from 4 to scratch

  14. I happened to stumble onto the other video, how to finish the golf swing , I was haven problems with early extension, after 12 lessons this year with the same teacher, we came up to something closer, I still could play at all , horrible scores, he kept saying finish the swing, but nothing work, until I came to that video, I used to be a 6 handicap, lost it, as soon as I did the turn left, my entire game came back, so thank you.

  15. Would like to try the reminder grips. Reminder grips require a little more attention to install? If the reminder is the wrong place then loose secret weapon?

  16. Why do all those wannabee instructors don't know that every golfer is unique in his abilities and copying whomever can ruin his game….😮😊

  17. Regarding those 6 sweep swings I noticed you really drag the club inside. Im still new to this game but I haven’t seen any golf instructors do or even recommend this. Is this inside move part of the drill? How does it help with the grip? Thanks for your time

  18. I always build the swing around my club ill set the club face it where I want it then build my grip from there and its usually a strong grip then ill hold club up and make sure its strong and stable couple warm up swings and then fire. When I dont set up my grip or build around my club I will hit worse shots. I have the mcc plus 4 midsize grips really nice feel to them.

  19. As a subscriber, I wonder what your thoughts might be having the rib on the front side of the grip rather than the trail side of the grip, in an effort to prevent the thumb from being placed in a weak position.

  20. I'm 82 years old and been playing for over 60 years. Wish I had heard about a ribbed grip a couple of decades ago! Really good instruction too. Thanks Greg!

  21. I play the Lamkin Calibrate grips which are ribbed. Thanks for the video and congrats on your 745,000 views. Lets get it to a 1,000,000. New subscriber too

  22. So, no grounding club and no shaft lean? It seemed to work at range, but, on the course was a disaster.

  23. Great info, but please include a closeup of your hands on the grip. I cant really tell how far your left thumb is on the backside or topside of the grip. In my youth we all learned that a proper grip would create the lines of the thumb and hand pointing to the right shoulder. (for a right handed golfers of course).
