I put on rubber gloves and emerse hard calcium covered golf balls for a few seconds in muriatic acid and scrub with a little sponge and then rinse immediately. Works like magic. Bleach doesn't work.
Have you noticed Urethane covers clean much easier?

Hey, just gotta ask how do you clean marker/sharpie off golf balls?as I’ve tried lots of scrubbing with soap🧼and water💧 but it doesn’t make much difference
Finish it with a magic eraser…works wonders for what is left. Like new!!!
