Busch Stadium in ST Louis, Missouri. This afternoon, the series will be decided between the Rockies and the ST Louis Cardinals. The importance of this game for the Cardinals. They dropped a game of the wild card standings. They’re two games behind the Reds, Michael mcgreevy who has pitched very well against the Rockies in getting the Cardinals , their lone win in Freeman hitting a 294 has had a hit in each of the first two games. That’s it toward third nice pickups to JC. He smothers and throws a strike. There is the first ground ball out for mcreavy and adam ball and I say a nice play, that ball was stung one out. Tovar scored one of the Rockies runs last night. Swing. Mcgreevy has a 123 1st inning. He’s off to a good start. The Rockies go 123 and the Cardinals are coming up at Busch Stadium in ST Louis. It’s been a rough go for austin Gober this year injured early. Right was austin Gober only making his 11th start of the season but it has not been pretty, er, a of 6.5, 0 to 6. The record. Here’s Yvonne herrera two for eight in the series. He struck out three times. There goes the no hitter Herrera with a one out single to center Herrera taking the ball right back through the middle. A nice approach. Mason Nguyen is next looking for his second hit of the series, he takes off and it’s strike three and Fulford wanted to make sure spil that he framed that and kind of hesitated in throwing a second and it’s smart because if you have a borderline pitch and you take it out of the strike, this is a top and he had to hold it there. So I do appreciate that. He waited first trying to throw out Herrera. Beck was kept off base yesterday. He was 0 to 4, snapped a nine game on base streak for Jordan and a base hit to right for Beck. They were playing him to pull Donovan up the middle and Beck found the open spot. Bring up warming Burna Bell warming was zero for three last night and leaning and Burleson says check it. Beck was headed towards second. A good throw and did the Cardinals pick him off? Oh, boy, certainly looks like it , doesn’t it? Yeah, card is going to challenge this stand. The runners lose their runner goes, pitches, strike for a second. Got him anyway. Paul never lies. Chip Paul never lies. Good. Fastball, good pop and throw there by pedro Paez after not getting the call on the review, Paez said I get him no big deal and grounded to third. So JC set fires a strike and in time be with a head, first slide is out to J is having himself quite a series, lots of big hits. He’s made a couple of good defensive plays already here in game three. Nice play by JC New with two outs new over his last 56 out of his last 26. That stroke to center curling away from moniak with a line drive single. Good to see him pull that ball with authority. He has the second ST Louis hit. So JC Bats, he’s had a nice home stand. He’s got a five game hitting streak, eight hits in that stretch in the air center that’s going to get down. So JC covers with two strikes, he smacks a changeup to the outfield and the Cardinals have two on right on. Cue, two strikes again. A changeup from Gamber that has been his best offering. This is off the plate, it’s down , it’s away, it’s a pitcher’s pitch and he just flat out spoils it now, a chance for to drive home a run. Pedro hitting ninth, swing, drive Hammer toward that’s got a chance to get down. It will, that will go to the wall. There’s your big hit Cardinals lead it two, nothing on an 02 pitch. Pedro pa in the nine hole is able to cash in early top of the fourth and we lead things off with the leadoff man for the Colorado Rockies. That’s Tyler freeman trying to start a rally here in the fourth and that’ll work off the glove of the diving Nguyen. He’s angry with himself. He feels like he should have caught it. Obviously, it will be a base hit , but it’s hooking away from him. Every infielder thinks the same thing. And I don’t blame Mason Nguyen. It’s really hard to make sure you catch it in the webbing. And if you don’t, it’s going to pop out of there. Mickey Moniak swung at the first pitch, his initial at bat and grounded out to Burleson. The first baseman rolled toward the middle of the diamond. It’s going to get under the, the diving Donovan. It will be a 1st and 3rd situation as moniak got just enough to roll it through the middle and it’s 1st and 3rd. No one out here against mcgreevy in the fourth. Who on nobody out he killed Tovar, strikeout victim his first time and base hit for Tovar. It’s 2 to 1. Modi had to wait to see that over the glove at Donovan. So three straight here in the fourth and it’s a one run ball game and all three hits. Hold your breath moment. You’re right. You’re like, is this going to get up? Is it going to be high enough? He had the first single Cardinals thought they picked him off first. There’s a ground ball softly hit two short one and two. There’s double play number eight runner at third two outs more soft contact on the infield this time and Adam Ball Bernall next in the air to center new broke back for an instant but recovers. He makes the one handed catch for the out. So the Rockies score one, they strand two. We go to the bottom of the fourth Redbirds on top 21. Lars Nar gets it started. Lars led things off with a single, a two out single drives this one high in the air to deep right Freeman back. That ball is going to carry out of here home run number 13. When he does that part, the Cardinals usually win the slider from, he wanted it down and away. It ended up down and in and in the Cardinals bullpen here to begin the fifth Kyle flied out to the center fielder, New bar and his first time up and there’s a base hit up the middle for cars one on and with the base hit left center car should get first to third on this or should go first to third and he will. So the Rockies second straight innings that first two guys reach the Colorado catcher Braxton full, who’s with the big league club for the fourth time this year and you may reach this kind of works as exactly that. So the Rockies back within a run out and you move Fernandez to scoring position for 12th ribbing. Mason win goes to work. Cardinals lead 32. There’s a line drive center field and it’s down for a base hit. I just like to see Burleson Sting one here. 14 home runs. 52 RBS for the Cardinal first baseman Belson swings and hits it a mile. It’s out of here home run, a two run shot 5 to 2. Alec Burleson is a tough out for opposing left handed pitchers. He’s got two more hits today. 5 to 2. The Rockies trail here in the top of the sixth inning, Mickey Moniak, the lead off and mickey drives this ball to deep right center field and this one is going to sail out and the Rockies have a third run for moniak his 18th of the year. It’s 5 to 3, got a changeup came in at 107.5. I went out at 107.1. Thank you very much. Carros is one for two and a run scored to lead off and he’s not going to face Michael mcreavy. He’s going to face the native Coloradan Kyle Leu who’s in a great spot and he’s greeted by a drive to left center field and this one is going to be a double for Carros as Herrera was able to kind of stop the baseball, but that was all, couldn’t pick it up cleanly. So Kyle Carros with his second hit and it’s a great start to the seventh inning. Gets away Carros trying to get to third and safe. He gets there with that head for slide one out Carros at third and coming up and this will get the job done. Maybe more deep. Left center is caught crashing into the wall by New Bar. Car will come home to RB I afternoon for full and the Rockies back with a run just keep bat. They do Rockies trailing 5 to 4. Kyle Carro two for three, couple runs scored Jojo Romero. He’s taken over the closer role. He’s three out of three that is ball four close pitch. But now the Rockies have the t run aboard in Carros. Here comes the Rockies lead slugger, Hunter Goodman Goodman is hit the center going back scott to the wall. He’ll have to watch it go touch him all time. Hunter Goodman, a two run pinch hit homer and the Rockies take the lead 6 to 56 to 5 lead as Victor VN comes on trying to get his second save in as many games. Here’s pa two hits for him. Here’s the two two. This is popped up to shallow center and I was concerned that he and freeman might not hear each other and mickey makes a Doyle E play in center and it’s the top hitter for the Cardinals. All star Brendan Donovan. This is in the air to center field but room for moniak, Mickey’s there ball game the Rockies stun the Cardinals with a two run pinch hit homer from hunter Goodman. They win the series here, they win a season series against the Cardinals for the first time since 2009.

  1. Fire everyone, Marmol needs to go. This game was flat out horrible. I’ve never seen a team blow multiple leads against the worst team in baseball history. Up 2-0, 3-1, and 5-2, the Cardinals managed to give up 4 unanswered runs. This shows how complacent they got throughout the game. Their manager didn’t set the stage when the Rockies started to come back. Ultimately leading to Romero throwing a fastball down the middle giving Colorado the lead. When Molina was in town, we won 5-0 against the Cubs. The batter’s approach’s looked way better with Molina. Even though they lost the second game Molina was there, they still had good approaches at the plate. Clearly Marmol doesn’t know the game very well. Hopefully the Cardinals fire Marmol and hire Molina as the new manager. Plus with Moe leaving, our new owner should be a lot better, investing more and developing our farm system. Hopefully the Cardinals play better against the Yankees to get back into wildcard contention.

  2. I'm at a loss for words. Cardinals ownership and front office is to blame. You failed to build up the farm system with PITCHING AND HITTING! Period. End of story. I hope Bloom can help the Cardinals. It'll take a while I'm sure.

  3. How do you go from winning 2 out of 3 against the Dodgers in LA to losing 2 out of 3 against the Rockies at home???

  4. In a must win series if the Cards wanted to stay in the Wildcard hunt
At home, they lost the last two games of the series to two pitchers with a combined 2 – 18 record…

  5. Gambling!!!! That was a batting practice pitch!!!! A professional pitcher will not throw a 91 mph fast ball in that location with a 3…2.. pitch count when you could have just walked him and tried to get a double play

  6. If the Rockies were in a weaker division- like AL Central – they probably would of won at least ten more games.

  7. Way to battle back boys. Today is the kind of battle win that show were capable of being a good team. Now lets go get revenge against the snakes.

  8. The St. Louis Cardinals, once considered one of the top baseball clubs in America that could fill the stadium for every game, and now they can't draw flies to a fresh 💩

  9. Way to go Romero! 😂what a joke! Lose a season series to the worst team in baseball! Way to trade away your closer Mozeliak when you're in a wildcard hunt! Just quit already Mo!

  10. That's what happens when you trade your best bullpen pitchers…definitely need new ownership and management..disappointing season to be a cards fan

  11. Gomber doing his best Zito-with-the-Giants impression.

Can’t wait for these useless starters to be gone. Like watching Matt Harvey’s last year w/ Baltimore three out of four games.

  12. ROCKIES WIN THEIR 6TH SERIES OF THE SEASON! (2 AGAINST THE CARDINALS)??!! 32-68! 56 GAMES UNDER .500! MAGIC NUMBER IS 10
NOW TO AVOID WORST MLB TEAM STATUS!! 42 GAMES LEFT! the dj
