Ahead of the BMW Championship, Patrick Cantlay and Rickie Fowler were asked about Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley potentially picking himself for Team USA.
Both admitted it would be “hard to argue” if Bradley decided to make the bold move for Bethpage 2025.

Um, like I said, I don’t I don’t think you’re going to find any or many Americans that are going to argue that he shouldn’t be on the team. Fortunately, that’s not uh I’m not in that predicament. Keegan, however, is in that predicament. Uh, I’ll tell you, if I was the captain, I’d pick I’d pick Keegan. How he’s playing in position. Yeah, I would pick him, too. Um I I don’t I think it’d be hard to find um really any or many Americans that would argue that point. I think he’s played great team regardless. Not regardless. I mean I think it’s you know it’s a he has a lot of responsibility that week and so uh if he feels that he can you know play golf like a normal week given all his other responsibilities. I’m just saying that um you know if I was the captain and I was thinking I think he’s definitely one of the best American players and his results have have shown that. Um we’ll see. I know he’s maybe getting to the the area of the 1011 number on points of where he may think like you know is this a spot where I you know I should not pick myself. Um, I feel like a lot of times it’s there’s really only like one or two that maybe fluctuate, you know, based off of people that were maybe inside the top 12 on points that maybe don’t get picked.
