If you’re struggling with an over-the-top golf swing that sends your drives slicing right, this video is for you. I’ll show you how to stop coming over the top using a simple training aid called Swing Z – an inexpensive gadget that promotes an inside-out swing path. Coming over the top causes an outside-to-in swing path that makes the ball fade or slice big time. Using the Swing Z, we’ll retrain your downswing to shallow out and come inside-to-out – because inside-out is the pathway to straighter, longer drives!

In this video, I demonstrate how to set up the Swing Z by placing a small plastic rod just above your tee. The goal is to swing under the rod without hitting it. This encourages you to release the club properly and prevents that dreaded over-the-top move. You don’t even need a full swing to see results – start with half swings that can still send the ball 200+ yards. Pro tip: Tee the ball high (about half the ball above your driver’s clubface) so you can swing under the aid cleanly. This drill works with any club, but most golfers find it especially helpful for the driver. It’s a simple drill that provides instant feedback, helping you feel the correct inside-out swing path and eliminate your slice for good.

If you have any questions or comments, drop them below – I’ll respond to as many as I can. I’m proud to represent Swing Z and thrilled to share this tip with you. If you’re having trouble coming over the top and you can’t fix it, stick around. This video
is for you utilizing something very inexpensive and simple. Thanks for viewing this video. I’m
here at the gorgeous Omni homestead resort as a guest instructor. Thank you. Mark Frey, your
staff. Mr. SPADONI, for making me welcome here, looking forward to coming back again real soon. A
lot of people who come through the golf schools, both here and in Orlando, they’re always asking
me, John, how can I quit coming over the top? Well, coming over the top makes this ball of
yours fade big time, and it’s mainly because of your path coming outside to in. And I was
recently introduced to a really cool swing aid called Swing Z, and all you do is put this little
piece of plastic above a tee and put the ball on a tee. And it’s very similar to my 45 degree stick
drill and some other drills that I have on my YouTube channel, which, by the way, if you haven’t
already done so, click my logo and subscribe. Make sure when you do ring the bell, you get notified
every time we release a new video on the channel, then there’s tons of video on the channel about
getting a planing your swing out. This is a very, very simple gadget. If you want to call it, I call
it a swing a and I’m real proud to represent it. All you do is set up normal and you’re trying
to avoid hitting that stick over the ball, but it’s helping me release the club, get all the
way through it, get this club to shallow out for me to be able to just barely graze the stick if at
all, to make this work properly, half the ball’s got to be above the crown of the face of your
driver. Remember that that’s in another video as well. And you don’t have to make big swings
to plane things out. You can make smaller swings that make the ball go a couple 100 yards with
your driver. And this can be used for any club, but you probably have the most trouble with this
club hitting the driver, keeping it from coming over the top. Really simple drill, very simple
movement, to feel yourself come more inside to out, because inside to out is your pathway to
straighter drives? If you have any questions or comments, leave them below. I’ll get to as many
as I can, as quick as I can. Thanks once again for viewing this video. I want you to come back often,
because the entire channel is made for you to help you improve your golf skills.
