I’ve heard that Freddie almost lets go of the club and you can see the gap between his right hand and the grip at impact

Whenever I watch Freddie, I feel like golf isn’t that hard. Dude makes it look so damn easy.

The problem with Freddie is that he makes newbies think he isn’t swinging fast.

    That guy is fast.

The mayor of Tempo-Town, Mr. Freddie Couples

Feel bad for anyone trying to replicate that swing

The secret to swings like this is extra desserts that aren’t necessarily your own

Freddie and Vijay both have the right hand barely on at impact.
That sure is a steep swing but so repeatable.

Even if you can’t emulate his swing, you can try to keep your head/neck as still as he does while rotating your body around that stationary point. I guarantee learning to do that will improve your game.

It’s like the equivalent of Griffey’s baseball swing

I’ve been watching golf and playing for over 40 years. His swing is my absolute favorite.

Man he really gets right over it

Ya but why is he hitting off of a tee?

Absolute pure tempo. The first golf shot I ever saw by a professional that completely mesmerized me was by Couples. Practice round at the 2007 Memorial tournament, #11 tee. Freddie grabs a long iron out of the bag, smacks the ground a couple times to lift the soil, places the ball on top, and without a practice swing lines up, full coil and unwind. The sound of the clubface making impact and the ball hissing off into the distance is something I’ll never forget. This was 18 years ago and I still get goosebumps thinking about it. What a talent.
