Justin Rose got his 12th PGA Tour win by winning the FedEx St Jude Championship but his sights will now be firmly fixed on adding a second major.
Rose came up just short at The Masters this year as Rory McIlroy beat him in a playoff to finally complete the grand slam.
For Rose, it was bittersweet as he saw his good friend achieve a huge milestone. On the flipside, it was a third runner-up spot at Augusta for Rose and another sting in the tail.
Now, though, with his form as good as ever despite being 45, Rose will have his eyes set on adding a second major to his already impressive CV.
And according to golf analyst David Howell, there’s one prize Rose has his eyes firmly on.

Speaking on Sky Sports about Rose’s quest to win another major, David Howell spoke of the Englishman’s talent and suggested he only needs to look at Phil Mickelson.
“He wants another major and he wants The Masters. That is the tournament I feel is breaking his heart a little bit. Second three times. He has lost a couple of playoffs,” Howell said.
“This is just going to give him another boost to think I have got a few more years at this. Just to give him another push with his own belief that it is just a number. I am 45 but why not do it? Phil Mickelson won in his 50’s.
“Rose might be the man, so I think we are going to see some great stuff over the next few years. He’s going to be at the Ryder Cup and I think he’s going to have a great Ryder Cup.”
Rose himself spoke of looking at Mickelson’s win at the PGA Championship in 2021 as something to work towards and it’s a very good point.
Rose is younger, arguably fitter and playing on the PGA Tour, getting more exposure to the bigger and better events.
Justin Rose’s record at The Masters
If Justin Rose retires without ever winning The Masters then it will be a bit of a travesty given how well he’s played Augusta National over the years.
Along with the three runner-up spots he’s grabbed, Rose has been a model of consistency in the main and shown his class time and time again.
