I work at a company that was purchased by PE, it’s a nightmare. Everything that attracts good talent was cut by beancounters who only see the world one quarter at a time. Good for the LAB founders for getting their payday but ouch I feel bad for the workers.
I bet they made LAB take on debt too to pay for its own purchase.

Oh don’t worry they dont care about stuff like performance when it gets in the way of their bottom line. Expect a continued dive in quality over a few years while they gut everything until they finally sell the company off for a profit.
Follow the villan arch of Taylormade as an example.

Ricky Fowler had some speed control issues from what little was shown of his final nine.
Then again, he didn’t blow it past the hole like Tommy did.

It’s weird that everyone is calling out LAB for going to PE, when basically every single major golf manufacturer is PE Owned/ Outsourced manufacturing to China and cheaper countries.
Will the quality go down? Absolutely.
Does it make LAB putter quality any different from PING, TM, Callaway, etc. ? Absolutely not. All consumer versions are made from the same cheap factories.
Another weird thing about this thread is non accounting / finance people discussing the finance side of PE. You really do not understand what you are talking about, lol.

He chose the ‘make every putt outside 30ft, but struggle inside 10ft’ option

Ironically my testing with a LAB had me money within 10ft but I had horrible distance control with lag putting.

Angry at the PE firm, but no answer for the original owner who sold to the PE firm, knowing exactly what they were gonna do with the company…
Similar misplaced anger when people are upset that a previously rural area becomes popular. Where’s your anger for your neighbors who sell out to the developers, knowing exactly what’s going to happen to their land?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that’s just being intentionally obtuse.
The tech behind the putters is solid has been researched extensively. And every OEM manufacturer has patents… because there’s millions of dollars spent every year to research data and improve specs on clubs.

that user here yesterday missing the 10 inch eagle putt too
