Brad Snedker’s wife pulled over in a parking lot to watch him shoot 59. At the Windham Championship, a milestone moment she wasn’t about to miss at any cost. At the 2018 Windham Championship, Brance Nedker delivered one of the most electrifying rounds in PGA Tour history, shooting a brilliant 59 that stunned fans and ignited his wife Mandy’s world in Nashville. With nine PGA Tour wins, Brandt recently earned himself team USA captain duties at the 2026 President’s Cup. It was an ordinary Thursday morning as Mandy dropped their kids Lily and Austin off at school near Nashville. As she ran errands, she tracked Brandt’s group paired with Billy Horchel, who slammed a recent decision made by the RNA at the Open Championship, and Hideki Matsuyama. And then all of a sudden, I don’t know what hole it was, but they started mentioning that there was a chance that he could shoot 59, Mandy recalls, she parked in a lot and settled in to watch the final holes on her phone. Sure enough, on the back nine at Sedgefield Country Club, Brandt was rolling. He nailed a 20ft birdie putt on the ninth hole, the 18th of the day, to become just the ninth player in PGA Tour history at the time to shoot 59 with full broadcast coverage. Oh my gosh, I screamed and just went crazy. Mandy says, the tears echoed in her head long after the round ended. Minutes later, Mandy’s phone was lighting up. We have a lot of friends that are in the music industry and obviously are huge golfers. She said, “I was texting people all morning. Brandt 59. Brandt 59. It was crazy.” Her first message, however, went to Brandt himself. Shortly after submitting his scorecard, he called ecstatic. Dot. Brandt’s reaction was equally raw. He was so excited. Mandy recalls, “You know, golf, it’s crazy. It’s like up and down, and he hadn’t been playing that great, but out of nowhere, he shoots 59. So, it’s just how the sport rolls. The challenge that followed might have felt even more demanding than the round itself. Brand headed into a round one lead, massive buzz, and a four-stroke cushion, but still had three days of professional golf to grind through.
